okay sorry didnt realize i had two names on the forum, one made by mistake, you wrote a file for me weeks ago name kewldude27. I solved the black sky by turning off crossfire. but still cant get my other two smaller monitors to work. as i said, my desktop is set to extended. they do nothing when i play. heres the config screen.

thanks tippis for pointing me in the right direction, turning off crossfire did the trick the sky isnt black anymore.

thanks jonsky xD i finally got to try your lua you made for me, but ive encountered strange issue. ever since i upgraded to the newest update, my sky is black now and also iam unable to use my two other monitors for some reason on any lua file! my game setting is correct for multi monitor, full screen is off, and windows is set to extended desktop mode. but no matter what i do my other smaller monitors do not do anything anymore other than show the windows background. maybe its because i havent activated this copy of windows 10? i have un activated version as i havent got a keycode yet. thanks for ideas xD

Ok now I remember, thanks alot. and do you know, if I upgrade to the new 2.x version, and select "keep my 1.5 version too" , do you know if Ill have to reconfig my monitors and all my controls again for them to work on the new version? thanks

Hi all, its been awhile since I made backups of my controls and monitor settings. as I have about 5 seperate controllers and spent weeks mapping them. I forget, where all these config files are kept. I need to get these backed up asap cause I think my HD is failing. can somewon tell me the important file locations that contain my key mappings, I know where the monitor files are. this is for version 1.5. thank you, and happy flying! mark

ok, the machine is windows 7 64 bit. and thank you for saying the 4870x2 only supports dx10 maybe thats why. the graphics are really good, but i just cannot see cockpit textures or vehicles or planes.

hi all, i just installed dcs on an older pc. it is , or was a higher top of the line dell gaming pc that was 4,000$ new, it is xps 720 with core 2 extreme 3.0 ghz, with radeon 4870 x2 with 2mb of video ram. the machine came with windows vista but i upgraded to windows 7, flashed the bios to latest upate. so I meet all the min requirements for this game. the game does play, but everything but the outside world is invisible, if join in an f15, i join the game fine, but i dont see my plane, or any cockpit instruments, and when i look at other people, all i see is the world. i cannot see any planes or tanks/ground vehicles. is there a setting somewhere. or should i just reinstall windows 7 and this game all over again. thanks. i really dont wanna reinstall the whole sytem again.

yes i copied them over, but they dont work :( , i copied over the whole folder like you said from my 1.2 install

OMG dude, your a genius :) it worked! my dcs no longer locks up when trying to run a module, ive only got one module installed as of now but it should be fixed. Now if you can tell me, prior to this mess, i backed up all my config files to my controllers. where are they located and where do they go? , hopefully they will still work, as i saved them when still on 1.2 .

ok i will get you that info soon after my computers done updating (iam using another pc for forums) but the specs on my flight pc, is AMD quadcore, 3.4 ghz, 8 gig of ram, windows 7 home edition 64 bit, radeon 7870. everything is a fresh install and i downloaded the latest amd crimson driver they had.

ok, i deleted the game, reinstalled it . the first first module worked. now i just need to load all my other modules again. can somewon tell me where my configurations for my joystick files are and where to put them in my new installation? ok i installed the fc3 module and its crashing again, heres my logs iam almost done with this version now, ill probally go back back to the old version, this is ridiculus. a fresh , new machine.. this shouldnt be giving all problems autoupdate_log.txt Logs.zip

Ok iam back in the game, i have resetted it back to only one monitor for the time being, now everytime i launch an "instant action" it crashes. gotta love this game

i have all my modules installed again, except black shark 1. I installed the stand alone game and now how to install into dcs world again?

ok i hope this is worth it, its almost done with the upgrade, and hope i can just copy back my monitor config files and all my usb controller files and it will be the same lol i will cry if it doesnt work as i spent months "i have 4 panels outta a c-130" aircracraft all wired to 4 different usb controllers and a few smaller usb monitors displaying certain gauges..

Ok so i may a read error mistake lol, i have started putting windows 7 on my system, as i originally saved all my monitor configurations and controller configurations (i saved them while still using version 1.2.* before it tried to update to 1.5 and failed cause i was trying use windows vista) In order to save me a bunch of time and headaches, do I just put back on the older version first, along with all my controller and monitor files, and then do the ugrade to version 1.5.2? Or do I go ahead and just do the "web installer" and put the current version on, and then copy my backup of monitor files and controller config files over? and also, i had the FC3 module, do I need to install the original lock on as I did a long time ago before I put this on? thanks!

Okay now this is getting fustrating, ive had to wipe my whole system and reinstall windows vista all over. and this problem is still here, I cannot use the web_installer to install dcs, i click on it and nothing happens. and I just did a fresh install of everything with no anti virus. Lol, all this just because a game update failed in the first place.
