  1. Seem you want to compare Mirage F-1 vs MiG-23. They are different configuration and have to do a lot adaptability and practice to get a good level to feel that you can get into a comparison. Probably The learning curve is bigger in Mig, but that doesn’t mean is worst. I believe the only case both face each other in the life of both aircraft was in the Angola vs South Africa air combat encounters. The acceleration of the Mig was stunning in comparison and the maneuverability was good inside that fighter Gen category. Encounters were not many but few of them was enough to get to know Migs were a serious threat. All you can read about trashing the MiG-23 is propaganda and disinformation. There were weak parts on MiGs but it is a matter of mastering your weapon before get the desired results. Same in every other weapons. I will say using SAHR missiles and tactics of that time, MiG-23 were a beast. The Syrian Air Force did not perform well on that bird and Soviets weapons delivery have fault on that too. So is nothing to do in that regard other than proof yourself in a different scenario.
  2. Here we can make a comparison about real cold war avionic and what we get from a Mig-29A early 80s version. Also, we will get a good picture how to adapt the weaponry and systems of current DCS modules to adapt Mig-29A opponents into a cold war scenery.
  3. The R-73 from DDR inventory was a 45 degrees targeting, thrust vectoring on his outlet engine made the rest of the job to get him to turn amazingly 90 degrees very quick.
  4. I love the radar representation on the Hud. I would like to know how they will implement the GCI.
  5. The thread war merged to Chit Chat sub forum. They always do that when someone is asking for something they don’t want to do. So yeah is clear ED will do exactly what you are explaining. Thanks for open a new user to explain all. Enjoy hunting the Mig-29. Have fun with R-27 mocking.
  6. Another quick question. what about F-4, F-5, Mirage F-1 and older 3Th Gen fighters. They also will have the R-27R quick response awareness on RWR? They have MSIP-2 M as well? I think ED should tune up DCS core and put apart what we actually have from FC3 MiG-29A. Things should be clear up in RWR depending what Era and generation fighter will fight MiG-29A. I’m talking about how 3rd Gen fighter will react against R-27R. We already know ED will work in a new R-27R implementation. I hope that includes what opponent RWR see, depending on what RWR see on respective Fighters generation. And that have to do with DCS core.
  7. hopefully after 6 month this feature is close to be ready for the general public Can you please add this feature in DCS core. F-16 take no longer than 4min to rearm that way and they even don't shootdown engines. Fuel tanks doesn't get installed full; they are part of the refueling process.
  8. there are two new threads telling the same issue. It's not a mistake of user logging. Can you confirm is an ED problem?
  9. The point is first the Multistage Improvement Program 1 (MSIP-I), started at 1983 and started to be really operational from 1985. As DCS have not ECM implemented 100%, ECM is not relevant at this point. Not the case for the radar warning receiver. In that case there are some important questions. Is the RWR ALC-56C RWR from MSIP-I capable to detect R-27R SAHR missiles guidance in all stages, as current FC3 F-15C do from the very first moment R-27R leave the rail??? (supposing our F-15C is using the Multistage Improvement Program 2 M, MSIP-II M) Why Soviet Mig-29A should be fighting modernized programs post-cold war? supposed all the information for R-27 taken from ex WARSAW pact countries after 1992 (Now NATO members) was used in further post soviets' improvements of MSIP-II M available after 1993. Its fair keeps a Cold War soviet facing a Post Cold War F-15C with MSIP-II M? In real life they (Soviets) never were close to do so after 1993, but the Serbian and Iragi due the real conflicts. After all that been told, Question is ED is making an Mig-29A to keep the post-cold war Iraq, Serbia conflicts simulation?? or we are allowed to have F-4, F-16A and F-15A/C with the respective MSIP-I from 1985 without detecting every movement of the soviet hardware on the air as we have seen in the current DCS modules?? This is Key to create a fair situational awareness, otherwise we will keep piloting Mig-29A as puppies to bring fun to the post-Cold-War jet Era. 10. I hope ED makes a later upgraded version like they did with Ka-50.
  11. At what date and what variant F-15 received the ECM update?
  12. Mig-29A was delivery to Iraq after peace agreements and they were delivered without weapons. Iraqi used on them old weapons like R-60 (same missile used in desert storm) Also Iraqi were told not to use it in Iran war. The thread is about Cold War 80s 4gen fighters
  13. It’s a third gen fighter and to be honest was not even a threat due small numbers of users and units. But yeah was there as a third gen. Not a Four Gen. Mig-29A counterpart as same generation level is F-16A, F-15A Non of them are even in Road plan. F-14 as a Navy fighter is not a direct counterpart for a MiG-29A frontline fighter. Our M2000, our version come a bit late for a Cold War, probably our M2000 is more compare to 9.13 version of Mig-29.
  14. very good information source that explain with details the active participation in the 80s Cold War European Scenery. F-16 appeared FIRST in European countries even before Mig-29 did. 26 January 1979 BAF accepts first F-16 produced by a European assembly line (No. FB-01). 5 June 1979 The Royal Netherlands Air Force accepts its first F-16 https://www.codeonemagazine.com/article.html?item_id=141
  15. As we will get our first Soviet Cold War 4th Gen Fighter Full fidelity, beside him the closest Full Fidelity 80s available for now is the M2000 and F-14A So what is the plan for a Cold War Scenery with Such lack of 80s fighters? Panavia Tornado could be another candidate. F-15C makes sense too. of course Mig-23ML and F-4, they are just a Gen behind but both sides were plenty of them. Probably in mayor number than 4th gen. no news on early F-16 versions or F-18? Both of them were really part of the 80s European scenery?
  16. You right. Make sense as a Navigation mode. Another one here low res in metric
  17. Yeah, that’s why I told you it’s a MiG-29G with imperial conversion. I just wanted to know the HUD mode. Look like GCI interception mode. Not sure if keep the same Soviet design for that particular mode or was a totally different conversion for western system.
  18. Any idea what HUD mode is this? It’s from a Mig-29G.
  19. Po-2 still in use in Russia, probably somewhere else.
