Thank you. Unfortunately, this zip files does not contain the full dcs.log file (it happens sometimes) but we can see this in your .crash file (which is a small extraction of dcs.log):

Please try these steps, one by one:
- Empty your “Saved Games/DCS…/fxo” folder and your “Saved Games/DCS…/metashaders2” folder.
- Disable XMP profile in your PC BIOS.
- Check your RAM sticks using MemTest86.
Okay. Roger that.
Thanks a million sir.

Hi, your last log file does not show a crash. Please attach the latest zip file from your Logs folder (a zip is created in most DCS crash situations).
Thank you Flappie.
Attached is the dcs log in zip file.
Note:
I am on the latest Gpu driver for my card.

I was hoping the new update patch would resolve my crashes but not.
I Flew one of the instant missions(Low-level valley mission) and that went well with no crash. Loaded one of the F-15E missions and within a few minutes into the mission and dcs world crashes.
The log file is attached. I really need to get this issue resolved. DCS has been fluid for me for a long while now.
Thanks.
Note: I have removed all mod, done both dcs repair and cleaning exercise, renamed my save game folder for dcs and only copied over mission, kneeboard and config files.

Well I may look at the 4070Super, but if these cards are not much better then the 3070's maybe I will hold off all together? I will look for some benchmarks for those cards 3070 vs 4070..
thank you
I can relate to the itch to upgrade. I have equally been looking at the 4070 series GPU as an upgrade from my rtx3070. I have a Ryzen 5 5600 CPU and rtx 3070. Doing great on my 1440P monitor even at maxed-out settings(Singleplayer mode 99% of the time)). My rusty Samsung Odyssey Plus VR Headset is fine but not at a level I would like in terms of clarity and performance. I am more leaning toward waiting for the next-gen line of GPUs from Nvidia and AMD.
IMHO, the 4070ti super would be a much more valuable upgrade

There is very little doubt that the 7800X3D is the best you could hope for in terms of upgrading your CPU. Of course, as above, upgrading your CPU will require changing motherboards and (for an upgrade that's "worth it) may require new RAM (if you land on a platform that requires DDR5). I follow prices routinely, and I can tell you that if we consider worst case/retail right now, a 7800X3D platform upgrade (CPU, motherboard, and 64G RAM) can quickly approach or even exceed $800 (depends on specific board and RAM). I looked not long ago and came up with $925 after local 6% sales tax for 6000MT RAM and a B650E board. I don't want to start a pissing contest here, but my strongest professional recommendation would be that if you're paying to change to an AM5 platform anyway, it makes no sense to go with a PCIe 4.0 board. Stick with X670E or B650E. Even if it's not apparent today, for the difference in cost it will be apparent soon enough.
Cpu/motherboard/DDR5 Ram bundles offers at Microcenter right now are looking very good. $469.99 for AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX v2, G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB DDR5-6000 Kit, Computer Build Bundle. That is if you live in the US.

That is some very serious rework of the Hornet's flight behavior. Looking forward to flying the upscaled FA-18C.

Oh, wait, you mean they are supposed to be illuminated???
Yes the director light underneath the Tanker are illuminated. They control your position while in the refueling area.
Lights indactes when you are going too forward, aft, high up and/or low off the ideal refueling probe area/Tanker.

There has been calls for the implementation of the Supercarrrier style Optical Landing System lights for the AAR director lights.
It would be unrealistic however but would help immensely.
Alternatively, the texturing of the lights can be improved upon. It is a challenge using the lights in AAR especially in vr.

I will give this a go. Thankshello
rename the folder \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta to \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta.BAK.
run DCS.
exit DCS.
copy \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta.BAK\Config\Input folder to the newly created folder \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta.
retry DCS.

I have tested for quite some time now. Drivers updated. All mod removed. The crash seems only prevalent in AH-64D Apache.

I have been having consistent crashes to desktop in dcs after like 5 minutes into the game.
I have done dcs clean-up and repair process and the crashes persist.
I did change my control hardware from thrustmaster stick to winwing stick a few days ago but before then, the crashes have been occurring.
I have attached my last crash log file here.
Thanks in advance for the help.

My Winwing F-16EX arrived two days ago. Installed it immediately and tested. I am really impressed with the F-16EX stick coming from Thrustmaster A-10C/F-16 stick.
I have yet to explore the simpro app and the configuration options it offers. Also the vibration kit has not been used.
Just plugged it in and mapped the basic buttons.
Pros:
Quality :
Material looks superb. The TM version is considerably heavier. The light weight of the winwing stick suggests some kind of aluminium material. I have had the TM stick for more than 5 years and I use it almost on a daily bases. It is still working great beside a few paint scratches on palm rest. So the jury is still out on the Winwing stick on quality and durability, it is just 3 days old.
Usability:
Miles better than my old Thrustmaster F-16 /A-10C stick. Easy to fly with. The cam and spring system makes axes control a breeze. The default NC cam helps does compare to the strong centre deflection I had with TM stick . I would love to explore other Cam and springs options in the future but the NC would serve for now.
I could not believe my proficiency in flying the Apache with the Winwing stick.
Versatility : A lot of good points in this department. I own a number of airframes and the extra buttons and slider provides options in mapping more important controls in those aircrafts especially the AH-64D Apache.
Esthetic :
The stick feels very light. I really like the sleek and simplicity of design. The green LED indication a cool addition for both the eyes and notification that the unit is on.
Cons:
I would have love the inclusion of one extra cam and spring option with the standard unit.
Overall I am very happy with the winwing F-16EX stick. I do hope to get many enjoyable flight years with it.
Thanks for the recommendations I got here.

DLAA rescued the long battle with shimmering for me too. And this at no noticeable cost in performance.Marketing gag or not, for some players it did bump framerate enough NOT to have to buy next overpriced NV cards anytime soon and that in itself makes it worth it. But, as "there's no free lunch", some visual degradation is always a price to pay.
It's all subjective - for some guys it's OK to play at 30-few fps as long as eyecandy is up. I don't understand it but hey, you do you. Just like i don't understand folks who just MUST have 120+ fps and are willing to settle for compromised visuals to get there. But it's their personal preference so - none of my business in the end.
I don't use DLSS (yet), 'cause I'm still keeping my head above the 60-surface in simple missions. Will see how it goes once I start playing Reflected's campaigns. I did embrace DLAA, however, which finally killed everlasting shimmering in DCS once and for all, while not sinking my framerate like MSAA did.

The 4080 Super series has just been announced. It would be worth it if the open post can wait a few weeks to get higher performance 4080 Super at a lesser price compare to the 4080 that he has in shopping cart.

Now that is interesting. I must have been reading staled news on the web.Really? Latest news is Pico5 is shelved.

There are rumours of Pico 5 for next year. It seems display port will only be available in their highest model.Yep, definitely not panic time - but if I need to save up £2k for something decent then I'd like to know early!
Pico4 looks interesting, thank you. I wonder if they'll do a DP version one day....
If the rumours are true about the specs, it is a bit of a let down to exclude the DP on the lower model.
Again, just rumours.
Microsoft plans to deprecate wmr in hard to understand. Vr is becoming very popular.

Hello all.
Looking for some buying advice here.
Presently using the Virpil CM-3 throttle combined with the Thrustmaster warthog Flight stick(F-16/A-10C stick). I have had the TM Flightstick for more than 5 years now and it has served.
I am hard-pressed to get the Winwing F-16EX Combo unit(with the extra buttons and vibration kit) now for it's versatility purpose. Those additional buttons and axes I reckon would provide me with more keymapping for other aircraft like the AH-64D. I have been using the modifier function to get along but oftentimes it is easy to forget what I have mapped for different birds. Also considering that Winwing just opened a USA outlet and the discount looks great.
I have seen some reviews on YouTube and I have read several issues about it like the Winwing F-16ex stick is loose at the center and all that.
Does anyone care to share his/her experiences on the Winwing F-16EX stick and Orion 2 base?
Thanks

I say yes to an accompanying YouTube videos.Question for all those following:
This mission pack has always been 'not tutorials', but I'm trying to gauge interest in if I did YouTube videos of step-by-step tutorials for each of these missions. Basically an accompanying YouTube channel specifically for this mission pack, where you could queue up the video for the mission you're doing and follow along. Or at least the Weapons employment missions (which were always the bedrock of everything else). So, if you DIDN'T have a basic understanding of the systems in the jet, you could watch me do the mission you're flying and follow along.
I'm just searching for ways to make this mission pack better and more inclusive for all players that want to learn the Viper and rather than try to build in tutorials to the Mission Editor, I thought an accompanying YT channel would be not only easier, but more fun for me.
So, if you think this would be a worthwhile endeavor, I'd love to hear what you think. Interact with this message, send me a private one, or respond here, whatever works for you.
It would be easier to learn the missions especially for those of us who would want like a refresher course.

Yes to the open post. A thank you to ED team is well deserved. Once in a while it is good to let the ED team know this.
Aviation has always been of great interest to me and to be able to explore that interest with a software while sitting at home is amazing.

Thank you Maestro for sharing the update coming.
Those upgrade figures are pretty substantial
I looking forward to testing to see the optimization work on the map and of course those new airfield bases.
Keep up the good work.

You mean the setting in DCS? If so then yes. But that only controls how big the cockpit appears to be, things outside is not affected. If you go to an external view its not affected.
I do think though that the scale of objects in the VR hanger where you have the main menu is correct, things seem to be the right size there, like the Su27 that is there default, that dont appears small at all. If you would look at it in external view when the sim is running it would appear much smaller. If you compare the scale of the aircraft in VR hanger to the in-game outside scale of aircraft, yes there is a big difference for me. The VR hanger seems like that is the realistic world scale

I have a couple of questions:
Is my guide & info for VAICOM PRO still valid for the current version (i.e. set-up etc)?
I had it from the start but never used it because I could never get Voice Attack to recognise my commands (and yes I got advice and attempted help by the VA devs but still no joy - Hollywood offered me a refund but I wanted to support him so refused), despite programs like dwVAC, SimVoice Checklists and Voice Buddy having no issues with my commands. Work that out!
Anyway, I'd like to give it another go - also, does the chat add-on that I bought still work with it?
Thanks
In the same boat with you. I bought the app and extensions but the hurdle was getting Voice Attack and/or Microsoft speech recognition software to constantly get my voice commands.
It would be great if other voice recognition software could be used. I fly VR so I know the important role app like Viacom Pro plays.

All the aircraft systems are independently simulated and they work in sync? That is just mind blowing.
How about the in-cockpit manual, both in 2d and VR? That is a Read-while-you-take-a-ride fun.
The F4. Looks phenomenal.
Thank you Heatblur for raising the bar in dcs.

Apache Course Training Mission.
in User Created Missions General
Posted
I flew the Navigation mission. I must confess the concept behind the creation of these training missions is fantastic. The in-cockpit display of guides is brilliant. For a complex module like the Apache, these mission comes in very handy in learning and reorienting oneself again.
I think ED training mission should take this form of in-cockpit written guide instead of voice-overs that are sometimes difficult to grasp. A hard copy reference guided instead of timed displayed message gives you the chance to read and learn at your pace.
The idea here should be expanded on for training missions
I salute the effort of the creator of this training missions and I wish other systems and weapons trainings can be added.
