  1. Looking at your specs, I'd say you're memory constrained...
  2. Cool. If you want to manage the server remotely, it's best to create an account on digitalcombatsimulator.com just for running the server. Once you have the server running under that account, you can log into the digitalcombatsimulator.com site with that account from another computer, then go to Profile --> My Servers and click on your server and the web GUI will open up in a new tab.
  3. Did you install the DCS dedicated server? If so, seeing just the DCS World screen is perfectly normal. It's a dedicated server -- it doesn't render anything on the server itself like it did when you used to run a server a while back. Not sure why your web gui for the server isn't working. Are you running the web gui from the same machine you are running the server on? If not, try that. You can manage the server from a remote computer, but you have to jump through some hoops to make it happen.

  5. So. The web gui is cool and all, but... how does one connect to a remote server with it? Is there a way to specify a remote server's FQDN or IP address in the web gui? Our servers are hosted in a data center and I'd really love to get away from having to connect to the servers themselves via Team Viewer and run the web gui from there. Kinda defeats the purpose, imo.
  6. If you're in the cockpit when you issue the -admin load command, the list will appear as text on the right side of the screen. If you are in Spectators, it will show up in the chat window.
  7. That's very strange. Nothing comes to mind. We host a couple dedicated servers and I didn't have to make any network/firewall changes after the upgrade to 2.5. Now the Integrity Check was borked after the upgrade. See my thread on that in this forum for a fix if you need it.
  8. Okay. Got this sorted. (thank you Caput_58). There are 3 variables in the serverSettings.lua file (C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config) that dictate whether the integrity check will be enabled or not on your server. These are: "require_pure_textures" "require_pure_models" "require_pure_clients" If any of these 3 are set to false, the integrity check will be enabled. All 3 must be set to false to disable the check. For some reason, unchecking the Integrity Check button in the Server Settings page would only set the "require_pure_clients" variable to false -- it leaves the other 2 set to true. I had to manually edit the file in Notepad++ and set them to false. Once that was done, it disabled the integrity check "shield" from our server in the server list and we were able to run our mods again. Hope this helps someone else.
  9. We run mods on our server. Currently, the Integrity Check is always enabled regardless of whether I turn it on or off in the Server Settings screen when I start the server. Anyone else seeing this?

  11. Hi Grimes, I noticed that in your milestone list, you have "Fix admin registration". I have tested the -reg command and successfully registered a few players as administrators. It would appear this is working again. The mission restart (-admin restart) appears to still be broken however. Has anyone else experienced this too?
  12. Unless your nose and mouth are located between your eyes, I think you'll be okay as far as fogging goes.
  13. Perhaps I should worded it differently. Right now, DCS World does not incorporate a way to prohibit the host from also playing. How's that? Better? Jesus, the pedantry in these forums...
  14. That's because ED doesn't have a true, dedicated server binary/.exe. (yet) Right now, DCS World has no way to distinguish whether the box is hosting a "dedicated" server with no actual players on it vs. a player hosting a multiplayer session. Until they come out with a binary that can run *just* a dedicated server (and hopefully not require a DX11 compatible GPU), that's the way it has to be.
  15. Those backers dropped that cash on a crowd-funded project. Half of those projects never make it to completion and the backers are left holding their d**ks. Pre-purchases and module purchases direct from ED are a much safer bet. Sure, we've had to wait longer than expected for some of those, but they've always delivered. More risk, more reward. Completely fair.
  16. Try pressing <ALT><ENTER> to change the window to full screen mode. That should allow you to click on the Exit, Disconnect and Briefing buttons. This is a common issue with VR. (I have an Oculus and have to do this)

  18. Just close the Oculus app when you're not using the headset --no need to disconnect.
  19. Some people experience motion sickness, some do not. (I do not, thankfully) Seems to be more prevalent with the helicopters than the fixed wing aircraft, based on conversations I've had with the others I know that use the Rift with DCS and experience motion sickness with it.
  20. Monitor graphics quality in DCS is superior to the Rift (and I am guessing Vive as well, although I only have a Rift so I can't speak to the Vive side)
  21. If I had to guess, it's the USB port your sensor is plugged into. The Oculus Rift is VERY picky about the USB 3.0 ports. Many, myself included, purchased separate 4-port USB 3.0 cards that are known to work with the Rift. Google around and you can find many threads on compatible cards.
