Trying to purchase via my WWII Backer pledge
kontiuka replied to Rocky49's topic in DCS: P-47 Thunderbolt
I had the same issue. Deselect all the other planes that are selected and just select the P-47 and press save or continue or whatever it is. Then there should be a button that says Get Licence. -
Front\rear cockpit desyncs and other compliments on the C-101
kontiuka replied to DeTesla's topic in DCS: C-101 AvioJet
Can't comment on that but another consideration is that the C-101 is the only NATO style trainer. So, if you want to train with TACAN and VOR and western style gauges, you would want the C-101. -

My only request to AvioDev is that they make a nice publicity video when multiplayer is working 100%. Get some new customers. -
Hi. Not much to it. - function selector switch set to ADF? - tuned properly into a kHz station? - transfer switch pointing to the desired frequency?

You should probably PM Chump with any questions.

There is an existing script by forum user Chump that seems to work well. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=4229730#post4229730 I've played around with my own scripting as well. Managed to get things working where you and your wingmen could target individual ships within a group. Had other ideas like implementing a poor man's radar for the C-101 where the missiles could detect ships in front and tell you if they are small, medium, large. Would all be text based but still kinda cool. I put it all aside cause really busy with other stuff but might look at it again if people were interested.

I'd like to eventually get into the C-101 multicrew when it's a little more matured. Even just being a navigator on an attack mission sounds fun. -
Found it! Thanks. Looking forward to the texture rework. :)
-
Yup. Pilot harness looks considerably better. And gauge lighting is different. Looks pretty good. Wonder if there are any other improvements coming. One little bug-a-boo of mine is the front canopy frame / arch. It seems to have 2 different textures - one along the top and another on the sides. I think the top texture is a left-over from the last texture rework. Would love to see that fixed.

You have to go to the 'installed modules' page of the module manager and uninstall each of them manually.

Thanks for the updates, guys. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=4339032#post4339032 Especially appreciate the anti-skid now working and that you can set up a failure. Question though. For the new air mix function, is there a lever or something in the cockpit? I didn't see anything.

Now that the promotion is over, which aircraft did you try? Like? Buy? These are the ones I tried: L-39: Very nice module. I'm a C-101 fanboi but the L-39 seems to have the edge on it in a few different areas. Slightly better top speed. Much better acceleration. Crisper rolls. Didn't buy but would consider in the future. Christen Eagle: Unfortunately, this ran terribly on my machine (which is a bit of a potato now). Not sure why since all the other modules ran ok. Couldn't really give it a fair shake because of it. I-16: Looks like a fun little module but without any trim pretty difficult to fly. Rudder pedals (which I don't have) are a must IMO. F-5E: Another nice module. Probably the one I spent the most time learning. No ILS though. Yikes. Didn't buy but would consider in the future. Gazelle: Very tough to fly. I thought people were being babies when they complained how hard it was but it really is that hard to fly compared to Huey and Shark. Still managed to get it through a couple of obstacle courses though so I'm proud of myself. Mig-29: I already had this from FC3 but bought it to round out my collection of stand alone modules. Fun little plane. Persian Gulf: Beautiful map. And at 30 gigs download, there was no way I was gonna uninstall :) so bought it.

It shatters the canopy glass with a charge in case the canopy is jammed shut.

pull it and see :)

C-101 Quick Guide for weapons employment and other useful files
kontiuka replied to Vibora's topic in DCS: C-101 AvioJet
Thanks a lot. One more thing I noticed was that the gun sight selector / gun arm switch starts off in the armed position even with the safety cover on. It should always be off when the cover is down, correct? -
Just thought this was a nice little video. Nothing fancy.

The positive rate of climb isn't due to the vertical lift component of the wings. It's due to the fact that the nose is now above the horizon. Therefore, the thrust of the engine is pushing the aircraft slightly upward. And remember, in some aircraft (not the C-101), you can do a knife edge pass using just the rudder. In that case, the wings are providing zero lift. As an aside, I just tried the F-5E and this phenomenon is actually quite pronounced in it.

Game track is totally different from actual flight just flown.
kontiuka replied to Wood's topic in General Bugs
Funny enough, for some modules, it works really well and others not so much. For example, the F-86 has an excellent track replay from what I've seen. -

The gun sight reacting looks like a bug. It shouldn't do that if the safety covers are on. -
Training mission coldstart, can't get past rudder pedal adjustment.
kontiuka replied to remi's topic in DCS: C-101 AvioJet
The rudder adjustment sequence has changed in the last couple of patches. The training mission might be a little out of synch now. But sounds like you've gotten passed it. -
It is there and has been there pretty much since day 1. Even in the SFM. I've always wondered about it but this is the first time I've seen someone else mention it. It only lasts a few seconds into the turn before the aircraft starts descending. Possibly because of the adverse yaw.

Barely related but, speaking of navigation, I had a cute idea. Would it be possible to bring up the F10 map by clicking on the map in the map case? And also bringing up the kneeboard by clicking on the kneeboard? Just wishlist items. Pay no heed.

Loops are quite doable. Just make sure you're going at least 250 kts and preferably closer to 300 kts. Also, make sure you don't have a full fuel load when doing aerobatics.

The manual power reserve (MPR) will give you a little bit more of a boost.
