  1. You can use it at any angle or position because at any point you can "recenter" the view and when you do that (either in game or via the Oculus Button on the Touch Controller) it looks at your current orientation and makes that your new 'centered' position.

Here is an example in the way I play. For DCS, I have my HOTAS on either side of my keyboard facing my main monitor so when I play flight sims and I put on the headset, my straight ahead view by default is my normal facing while I am using my computer. However, I also play racing sims, and for that I have a full Force Feedback steering wheel and pedals setup which is attached to a different desk 90 degrees to my left and a few feet away. I also use a lower chair when driving which is also inclined. When I play those games, I just "recenter" my view and now even though I am sitting lower, at a different angle and orientation several feet away from where I was in DCS, my view is still aligned to my new driving controls, not my HOTAS.

I'ts all very flexible and you can pretty much sit, stand, kneel or hell even lay on the ground and look straight up if you want, although if you did that reaching your joystick might be hard. ;)

One cool trick if you have the space in your playing area is to stand up and walk a few feet away from your normal sitting position and look back at the cockpit of your plane/helo. Be warned, it can be a little disconcerting if you're flying though! Kind of like wing walking... ;)

Thanks for the reply its a relief to know its all very flexible :) I would assume that feature is in all the latest VR products

  2. Hi, maybe this :

on takeoff, A10c has a strong trim forward, but if you didn't tick "swap axis" in A10c control settings / axes / your X or Y axis / FF tune, this trim will be applied to the right.

If it's the issue, then tick "swap axis" it will resolve it, and also solve the inverted trim buttons response (if "swap axis" not ticked, the "forward" trim command you mapped will apply trim to right, and so on for the 3 other commands....)

Thanks for this problem solved! flies straight as an arrow..never would have thought of that myself

  3. Ive stayed away from DCS and spend all my time with FSX SE. Reason being is all this nonsense ...I have modules that no longer show up and steam purchases that wont bind on 2.5 and add to that 2 year old support requests on DCS stand alone with replies saying we are to busy now but we reply soon and today I see those tickets closed with no further input from DCS

If there is a more confusing way to purchase gaming modules over different platforms I would like to see it!

  4. Hi, when I go to my saved games folder I now see 2 folders, I DCS folder and a DCSd folder. Why are there 2?

Secondly whats the correct procedure for restoring the backed up files after an update

    Thanks guys

    edit

I think Im looking in the wrong place for a back up folder. Where is exactly would it be? the last update set my controls back to default

  5. I just backed up the wrong folder and installed the latest update and lost all my modules and settings however I did a System image back up before that and was able to restored everything

Before I try again Can somebody point me to a thread that details exactly what folders I need to back up before installing the latest DCW update?
