  1. So the first 25 points within the WPTHZ and TGT/THRT partions from the Apache navigational database thats are loaded by the DTC are considered  safe sets and can't be erased or overridden. How to deal with this or how does this work ?  What happens with a cold start ? Do i need to load 25 w.p's or TGT's first before i can erase points ?

  2. Yeah for sure, we dont have much helicopters to choose from as fixed wings so iam taking all helicopters. Helicopters are unique.

It seems like they have decided to go with the Ch47D  check the news logs and i think its a fabulous choice.

Thx... I like the US Cockpit Layout but both look impressive

The Italian version AW1067 ICH-47F, was different avionic, radar, performance and engines, builded by Leonardo.

    https://www.leonardo.com/en/press-release-detail/-/detail/ich-47f-maiden-flight

The external and cockpit 3D model was depleted during 2023, and redone to match with a Boeing UsArmy CH-47F from med 2000.

Hmmm .. something in me just hopes the original  US version.

I also found some diffrences between the D and F type..

Here are some of the main differences: Avionics: The CH-47F has an upgraded cockpit with advanced digital avionics, including a digital automatic flight control system and a digital engine control system. The CH-47D and CH-47E have an older analog cockpit with less advanced avionics

I am very confused about what version we are getting. Some say it is the Italian export version. Is that F?

So whats the diffrence between the export version and the Us version besides the english cockpit ?

Hello all! Apparently ED moved this topic to my technical support, and I saw your dialogue!
In the next DCS update, the FCR will be on your helicopter in the MAD AH-64 campaign. I didn’t have time to add this to the December update, and now updates are happening less frequently, which is why I had to wait so long.

Hello Stone Sky, Thx for picking this topic up and your response. We are looking forward to the next update but at least Mistermann gave up a great hack to have FCR on board and there are less updates to worry about like you said.

I am not 100% sure on this one.  I think every ED patch update refreshes the campaign to its base state, so you'll need to update these after each update.  If you prepare yourself to edit those mission objects after every ED patch, you'll be pleasantly surprised you don't have to do it 😇.

Well at least there is a solution. thx

By the sound of your post, the newest airplane we got entered service probably before you was born, . So it is an old aircraft club.
But I accept and respect your opinion on the matter. I know many here wanting newest possible version of it, I get that, I still buy it.  and it would have a lot of work to do.
I wasn’t “ordering” ED to make a Vietnam era Chinook. I was expressing what I wished for.

Sound of my post ,😆..... Anyway.  If you respected my opinion you wouldn't hear the sound of my post and make a correlation between the aircraft entering service and my age.😁  I was born way before they got in to service but i just like modern equipment and want the best capabilities. Just like you expressed what you wished for i did the same.

Because it's almost certainly easier to sell a later version as an upgrade, than an earlier one. They've done this with the Ka-50 twice and again with the A-10C so it wouldn't be unprecedented.

What hasn't been done yet is going newer and then selling an older version later. HB comes close with the Tomcat, but the older variants are bundled in as one.

    ?

I have no idea how you figure this, DCS is never going to be exclusive to older aircraft.

I havnt said exclusively, I said  "before this becomes a old aircrafts club"...  Keywords -before and becomes-  so we can still prevent it from happening so it doesnt become a reality.  I think there are all ready enough aircrafts with older technology to choose from and its certainly no rule to start with old modules to sell upgrade versions later or to be unprecedented  because we received a perfectly nice late version Apache AH 64-D didnt we ??? . They didnt start with the -A version to sell us the B-D version later which to me is a perfect decision from ED because we all can and are enjoying all the later technologies that came with the D upgrade such as the FCR etc.   ... its just my preference to have the latest upgrade of a aircraft i am sure many people will be triggered but i dont get it...why would you ask for the earliest version of an aircraft ?  It has been upgraded for a reason.

  12. Nah man, screw old  version  Ch47.  Why would they start with an old version and wait another few years before they would add the latest upgrades just  as what happened with the KA50 ?  Just make the latest F model with its full capabilities with options to strip it down to the lightest version as preferred.  We have a lot of old gear flying around in DCS already  lets have some more modern aircrafts before this becomes a old aircrafts club.

Until Stone updates his campaign to support this (he may not want you using the FCR in his campaign, BTW), this might be an easy fix if you're willing to edit the mission file itself.

Before doing this make a backup of the .miz.  Also, if memory serves me,  every DCS update will overwrite this change so you'll need to keep track of the changes and re-apply if an update reverts this file back to "base".

    1. Open up the miz file and extract the "mission" object.
    2. Edit this object with a text editor like Notepad++.
    3. Find all entries for ["FCR_RFI_removed"] = true, and replace the word

I tested this with a simple mission I had and it worked just fine - YMMV.

    Hello.

    Can you explain .1  please.

I have opened the file on the mission editor but i dont know how to extract the object.

  14. Hello.

I have noticed that the is no FCR mounted on the helicopter in the MAD AH64 Campaigns. But i also hear that i have to activate it in the mission editor. I have tried this but all options are greyed out and are unavailable in the mission editor. Can anyone help put ?

  15. Hello

I have just finished building my set up. A motion platform SFX 100 with Arduino an SimFeedBack and  a Aero VR HMD but now iam experiencing issues i have never encountered when i only use VR .

As soon as i start the motionplatform and touch my HMD  for example to  reposition it on my face my VR world starts clipping , freezing , stcking, jerking how erver you want to call it, while i am turning my head around, very obnouxious.  only touching the headset freezes the VR  and only when simfeedback is running with the platform.  With motion turned down there are no issues.  Could it be the Export.lua file ?

    Anyone  ?

  16. Can anyone explain to me what the difference is between Holdmodes and Autopilot as the Apache hold modes may not be considered an autopilot function ?

  17. Thx for you response admiki,

Ah okey. Thx for explaining. And I think i found what i was looking for.

Page 207. ---  Additional switching logic is determined based on whether Attitude Hold is activated and if the force trim release switch is being depressed, as described below. ---

Page 211  --The FMC Pitch and Roll channels operate with Attitude Hold and two additional sub-modes: Position Hold and Velocity Hold.---

All these four Heading, Turncoordination, Velocity and Position hold are Attitudehold  Submodes.

I was actually pretty impressed with the (361 page) manual when it was released a couple days ahead of the module release.  I'm sure they will continue to refine it to get it ready for when the module comes out of Early Access.  Hopefully some diagrams and flow charts will make it in there, as well.

When I was first learning the aircraft I was struggling with the difference between sights, sensors, and qcquisition sources, and when it finally clicked for me I started to map out an illustration (which I never finished) to help describe their relationship with each other.  That kind of thing would be nice to see in the final manual.

Yes you have do make some more effort to understand how the systems really work.

But i really would like to know how come or why the modes are called Submodes.  How they work is explained but what makes them a submode ?

Not everyone is here to be a smart ass to you or others. People here are willing take their own time to help/reply despite you like the answer or not.

The problem is your attitude towards people here and not if you ask 2 or 3 times the same question.

Either way, i will be the first to help in the future as i always try to do with everyone seeking help, but good luck with that attitude here.

The DCS AH-64D's Quick Start Manual is currently undergoing a major revision to improve it's structure, content, and format. However this is occurring in parallel to other manual revisions such as the A-10C and F-16, so it will take time.

    You have nailed it perfectly.

I had the same problem with the same systems you were struggling with even after reading the manual you need to put it all together. But in this case i miss more information to put this Modes vs Submodes together.

They way modes can ve found in the manual but Why are modes Heading hold, Turncoordination, Position and Velocity hold Submodes are called Submodes  ?
