  1. I would look into the SilverStone TJ06. It is a nice looking case and has great airflow and cooling properties. It is somewhat like the Antec 180 in that the power supply is mounted in a seperate upper compartment along with the hard drives to reduce heat. It has a 120mm intake fan sucking air in directly over the ram and cpu and a 120mm fan sucking air out directly behind the cpu which is very effective. Another 80mm intake fan sucks air in across the video card. Their is space to put another 120mm fan if desired to vent air out of the hard drive/power supply bay but would require cutting a vent hole in the case but I have not found this necessary. The only issue is that the power supply cable feeds need to be long since the motherboard is mounted in a seperate compartment. My main 24 pin cable from the power supply to the motherboard was long enough but I had to splice and lengthen the 12v 4 pin connector which was no big deal....2 12 volt wires and 2 ground wires. I have a Ninja cpu cooler on a e6600 2.4 ghz dual core overclocked to 3.2 ghz and it runs cool even under max load. I would recommend this case to anyone.
  2. I just recently built a new system and have my e6600 running at 3.2 ghz. My ram is holding me back from going any higher but the cpu voltage is only a tad higher than stock and it is running cool. I have a different mb than you but it should not be that much different so I will list my settings and you can try them out. FSB is at 400 and multiplier at 8 giving 400 x 8 = 3200mhz. My ram is running at a 1:1 ratio with the fsb so that would be 400mhz... ddr2 speed = 800 mhz. If you have pc6400 ram you should be good to go. Some ram will not overclock well, like mine which is why I am running at a 1:1 ratio to keep it at 400 mhz. You may have to bump your fsb and mch voltages up a bit also. Do this preferrably from the bios. There are a lot of good overclocking guides and info out there, just google them and good luck.
  3. Hi, I may need to purchase a new monitor and was thinking about foregoing a big crt for a LCD. The crt I have now is in for repair (warranty) and it has great color rendition and clarity but is huge (22inch) and weighs a ton and takes up a lot of space and generates a lot of heat so I was thinking about getting a LCD for gaming and especially for Lomac. Are crt's still better or have the LCD's caught up and if anyone can recommend one I would sure appreciate it, thanks!
  4. I know that the crossfire can be linked to another card but is it the same as a single x1950xt spec and performance wise?
  5. I'm upgrading everything and have selected all other components except the video card....... the new mboard has a pci exp slot, should have included that info, sorry.
  6. Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my 9800 pro and want to stick with an ATI card for Lockon. The 1950 looks to be a good card but can someone tell me the difference between the radeon x1950 xtx and the radeon x1950 crossfire? They seem almost identical. Thanks!
