  1. Hey there. I am a total newbie to the gaping rabbit hole that is arduino. I have in mind a project where i need to be able to extract the G-Force information from DCS, run it through an arduino processor and have a servo motor function based on amount of g pulled. If anybody can shed some advice on the following, id be grateful! -Arduino components required (Bread board, microcontroller board,) -software requirements Things to consider Cheers
  2. Cheers for the info Phil. For anybody else having the same type of issue in a campaign, the work around is as follows: Find 'logbook.lua' in C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS\MissionEditor Open it and find the section pertaining to the campaign you wish to advance. eg: ["created"] = "Mon Apr 1 19:38:12 2019", ["player"] = "Ayden T", ["campaign"] = "./Mods/campaigns/Spitfire IX The Big Show/Spitfire IX The Big Show.cmp", ["status"] = "Active", ["history"] = ........is the beginning of 'The Big Show' campaign section. At the end of the section you will find the following lines: ["stage"] = 3, ["mission"] = "The Big Show - 03.miz", }, -- end of [5] }, -- end of ["history"] To advance your position within the campaign, set 'stage' to the mission number desired (3 in this case) and input the desired mission name ("The Big Show - 03.miz") The correct mission name can be found in the campaign file location: E:\DCS World\Mods\campaigns
  3. So i just bought the big show campaign for the spitfire. First mission is great but for some reason, once i finish the second mission, my campaign always puts me right back to the start as if i had restarted the entire campaign. Its incredibly frustrating. Any ideas or is anybody else having the same issue? Cheers
  4. Hey Huzar! Ive just come across your post after trying (Without success) to make an X-55 extension of my own. I have wired everything back up in accordance with the correct wire colors but for some reason none of my buttons work and i'm unsure where i have gone wrong. I am wondering if there is any advice you may be able to give me? Cheers, and damn fine work!
  5. Hey there. So after working fine for quite a while, dcs has stopped detecting my pro pedals. Every other game seems to be fine with it and the pedals show up in both device manager and USBdeview. There havent been any recent hard/software changes to my computer either. (Windows 10) If anybody has any ideas please help!!!!
  6. thanks for the reply BIGNEWY, for some reason the situation seems to have resolved itself overnight? But just for the record the campaign i was trying to buy was the "A-10C Tactical Training Qualification Campaign" for DCS 1.5. And i can confirm i was definitely logged into DCS. cheers
  7. Hey guys when i try to buy a campaign on DCS via their website i get the message on screen saying "Requires DCS World version 1.5!", and i am unable to buy it! I haven't had any issues buying modules before and i definitely have an up to date version of both 1.5 and 2.0 so i why does the DCS website seem to think i dont have 1.5 on my computer?? cheers in advance
  8. I'm trying to map keys to a rotary using bands. So basically different keys will be activated depending on where the rotary is rotated (100%-75% = buttonA, 74%-24% = buttonB, 25%-0% = buttonC) The in game key mapper does not cater for rotary banding. I apologise if I have explained in too difficult a way.
  9. Ok so heres the test window acting as it is supposed to NOTE: keybindings on Right side set to function with Rotary bands. (Boat_Forward) And heres what it does with random buttons... (Boat_Aft) The arrow key does not function even though it has definitley been assigned as you can see.
  10. Hey guys. So im in the middle of assigning buttons to my throttle (X-55) and it is doing my head in. Ok so basically, i am able to assign any key i like to any button / axes without a problem. However, when i test the HOTAS it acts as if some of the buttons were not assigned. For example: i have Alt + Left Arrow assigned to H4 Left, when i press H4 Left while testing however, it responds as though i only have Alt assigned to it. What's strange is that it is the same regardless of which button i assign these keys to! Any ideas / similar experiences? Is this just another 'HUD' bug?
  11. OMG! I didn't realize the new theatre was finally dropping tomorrow! im in new zealand and it's currently 2146, 26th of may. Was still able to pre-purchase the map and objects package with the 20% discount! Just in the nick of time aye? ;) See you over the coast!
  12. Talking to a pilot who is currently learning to fly a tail-dragger, i was told that the ailerons are used to center the aircraft with the closer end of the runway while the rudders are used to align the aircraft with the far end. All of this is done simultaneously and feels strange to begin with but after a short time practicing, becomes natural. I perform all of my P-51 landings in this manner now and successfully perform 90% smoothly. cheers
  13. Really old thread now but still extremely relevant i feel. Just made a diagram of the Diving Oval technique featured in Darts videos posted by NakedSquirrel. Just posting this here for a bit of fun! Cheers!
  14. Cheers LURKINGBADGER. Did what you said and the mod is now working, unsure why JSGME couldn't make it work though as it was intended to be used with that programme. Anyways heres the link. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=151646 Thanks again!
  15. Hey everybody. So i'm currently trying to get through mission 9 on the High Stakes campaign. It's a night mission where you are expected to destroy ground targets whilst using NVG's. However, the default NVG's were terrible. The picture looks like something out of a late 90's computer game no matter how i set the gain level and it is impossible to see anything on the ground beyond 200mtrs. So i downloaded frenchy's NVG mod and applied it to DCS using JSGME. however, when i run DCS i see no difference what so ever. Is anybody able to advise me on what i may have done wrong/may have to do to ease my troubles? Cheers guys
  16. cheers mate! ive got my serial and am updating dcs world as we speak! thanks for your help
  17. Hey there! So im wanting to buy my first DCS module. I'm after the p_51 and got up to the final step before purchasing and it seems as though i was about to purchase a cd. I was more after just a serial so that i can activate the version of DCS P-51 which i have already downloaded. So can somebody send me some real simple instructions as to how id go about doing what im wanting to do? cheers guys _EDIT_ Not buying off steam
  18. You may need a HOTAS which allows you to program keyboard keys to the joystick buttons outside of dcs' settings. For example, im using the thrustmaster cougar and have my comms buttons assigned to the throttle's vhf hat. I was able to do this via foxy which is the program used to program buttons to the cougar. What stick are you using?
  19. I've currently achieved just above 40 hours so im still a newbie and to be honest I'm proud simply of the amount of hours i've put in. But theres always specific moments that have made me prouder still, such as getting all six mavericks off in one pass and taking out multiple targets at once from 17k feet with a well placed GBU but I think overall, anybody who is capable at all of learning the Hog's systems and abilities even at a beginner level should be proud, we are a special breed us simmers so good on you mate!
  20. Awesome! Thanks everybody for your replies. Im looking at buying one when im able, track IR is extremely expensive in New Zealand but using a coolie hat to quickly look for incoming fire is becoming totally unacceptable haha!
  21. Hey there! Just wondering what kind of load the track IR has on PC. I have a fairly low end system and was wondering if its worth buying a track IR. Will post system specs ASAP. Cheers in advance.
  22. Thankyou everybody for your replies, im learning some interesting things here. After flying nearly 48 hours in two weeks ive come up with my own method of finding my targets, here it is.... -First of all, consult the mission planner. I know this may be viewed as cheating but in todays battlefield its likely that the same level of Intel is supplied. -Using the mission planner I usually copy a simple map detailing the shapes of towns in the target area, rivers with prominent bends or roads with obvious intersections. This way I can identify specific areas at a greater standoff range than if I were searching for individual targets. -I generally load my hog with 2 GBU-10s and 6 AGM-65Ds. I first deploy a CAP unit when possible and make a pass at 14000ft towards enemy territory. After releasing one GBU I wait roughly 30secs to allow time for realignment with the release cue and then turn 180 degrees for my second pass heading back towards friendly territory. I always prosecute the left and right most targets first, otherwise known as 'bracketing' your enemies. This way I have an indication of my targets locations marked by two big smoke columns which are visible from a long way off. -I then drop to 4000 feet and begin prosecuting with my mavericks now that I know where to look. Other tips which any A-10 pilot MUST know include -working with JTAC (type 1 and 3, havent come across type 2 yet) -Entering coordinates into CDU. -Working with other friendly packages (CAP especially) -practise pre/post attack procedures e.g popping flares before and after attack and jinking at low altitudes! (easy to forget) Cheers everybody for your tips! Keep them coming!!!!!
  23. Thanks mate! :) one question this doesnt answer though is how I get DCSW to recognise A-10C as a module. The in game Module manager doesnt work unless I have internet and nothing else happens to suggest that DCSW recognises A-10C being present. Is there something I need to do to "force" DCSW to find A-10?
  24. Hey there So my situation is this, im currently running dcs on my desktop, I do not have internet so I pirated dcs a-10c AFTER BUYING IT ONLINE via somebody elses laptop. I cannot activate the module on my desktop, is there a way around this? Is it possible to buy a module on steam and transfer it from laptop to desktop and activate without internet? Cheers Oh and a-10 does work as a standalone programme but not in DCSW
  25. Apologies for my ignorance but whats the purpose of this database?
