  1. I’ve just seen a preview of IndiaFoxEcho’s Tornado for another flight sim of the non-combat variety, and …..WOW!
    I know you guys helped Heatblur port the F14 over to aforementioned sim, is there any chance the Tornado might go the other way and come to DCS?
    I probably shouldn’t link the YouTube video but it’s easily searchable - go check it out!
    Thanks for the compliments, but there is already another 3rd party who is making a very good Tonka for DCS.

I decided to ask for a refund on the F-4E for reasons that had nothing to do with the delay, and added up everything I've spent on DCS since I started.  I have all the modules other than the F-4 (I'll assume the refund will go through) and a few campaigns.  If you add it all up it comes to just under a week of a professional developer's take home pay (at least our developers); that doesn't include payroll taxes or benefits.
    So I've successfully bought about twenty-four hours of development time, and got pretty much 95% of what you can buy in DCS for it.  Seems like the pricing is just fine on the display of my old school HP calculator.
    Actually, that number is so ridiculously low I'm sorely tempted to cancel the refund.  Feels a bit like larceny.
    I don't understand the connection between the F-4E and our team.

  3. Regional pricing makes sense from a profit maximization perspective. Because the cost of giving a costumer a license is zero, if by decreasing the price in a poor country, you can increase the number of people willing to buy it by more than the lost income per copy, then it makes sense to do. You just need to prevent people exploiting this pricing, which may be impossible. Ultimately it is the dev's choice, and life isn't fair, and discriminates at every step.
    I myself am not really interested in the training aircraft, as they are not very performant/useful in MP, and SP content is chronically lacking in DCS. I would need a really long and detailed qualification campaign to be tempted. But I am sure other people like them for their reasons.
    Unfortunately we cannot select the price based on the country

    Well, what can I say, I tempted myself into checking how long it would take to port a mission to another map, so I did a trial edit, and found that it took a couple hours of work ... not that long, but of course I didn't redo the voiceovers, so they dont quite match the map change, but the mission is still playable, like this:

    Well, today I finally found the Sale price of the MB339 more tempting and so I purchased it for myself before the current sale ends.
    I'm a bit ashamed of waiting almost 1.5 years to buy, but that is the buyers prerogative  ... I'm happy with the purchase and I'm currently enjoying its training missions, I'm tempted to convert them for training on the South Atlantic map, but I'm still finishing my Viggen projects.

  7. @falco capiamo la tua frustrazione e ci scusiamo della scarsa comunicazione. Purtroppo però, piuttosto che gettare fumo negli occhi giusto per scrivere qualcosa e pubblicare i soliti rendering preferiamo aspettare e avere qualcosa di più sostanzioso da mostrare alla comunità.

  8. I stand corrected. This incident was my error.  I checked Wx in the mission editor that indicated surface winds at 6knts. However field elevation at St. Catherine, Syria is 4,256ft. Winds were very different there and were over allowable limits. Please accept my apology.

  9. Even post patch it's not enough.
    Anybody know how to modify it? I don't care if it's not realistic I'm sick of being pushed off the runway with a modest crosswind. Dragging wheel brakes and generally praying to get airborne. Love flying light attack but I either have to mod the winds or fly something else. 
     
    As per performance manual, the maximum crosswind is 18 kts during take off/landing.
    Talking with real pilota, they confirmed us that you need to use a lot the rudder and the differential brakes to keep the aircraft on the runway.

    This is good timing - last week I was experimenting with different weather and crosswind conditions at takeoff and could not keep the plane on the runway.. lol. 
    I just reduced the wind and finally took off near the middle of the runway.. 
    Thanks for the continued updates and improvements to the MB-339! 
    Consider that the maximum lateral wind allowed for the mb339 is 18 kt.
    Within this range, after this patch the aircraft should be ok.

  12. Finally caved and just bought the module, i do like it but was waiting for a sale, i have the issue with the glitching canopy handle (MT version) any news on fix its hella distracting

  13. i have the same issue as @Texas11 i have to bind PTT stick to get comms menu but its hot mic in SRS not good for multiplayer, anyone know a way to access comm menu without hotmicing all the time?
    We are remaking the entire botton logic. The fix will be available as soon as possible

  14. Thank you for your feedback, we have collected the pool results.
    We are going to consider your preferences for our future projects, taking into account also the access to the real aircraft and documentation.
    For the moment, we want you to know that we got a license for a new exciting project for DCS World. We can not provide any details yet, but we can say that the next project after the G.91 won't be Italian nor European, but it is an aircraft that flew in Europe during one recent conflict.

  15. Testing with the latest Open Beta 2.9.2.49629 - this doesn't seem fixed i.e. behaviour with RNAV and TACAN CDI, etc. remains the same when tested from Nellis.
    I confirm that the fix wasn't included with this patch. It will.be included with the next one

  16. Following the increasing complexity and detail of our aircrafts, along with the sheer number of project we will be working on in future, we have decided to enlarge our team.

    We are looking to get in contact with:

     

    C++ CODER (ref.ife-coder2024)

    He/she will be responsible for developement of C++ avionic components and subsystems for new DCS projects, reporting to the coding lead. Advanced knowledge of C++ is a must.

     

    SOUND ENGINEER (ref.ife-soundengineer2024)

    He/she will be responsible for development of custom sound effects (potentially including voice messages and dialogues) primarily for new DCS projects, but may also be involved in other platforms, reporting to the project integration manager. Experience in creation of sound effects is essential. Basic knowledge of coding and knowledge of Wwise is preferred.

     

    3D MODELING ARTIST (ref.ife-3dmodeling2024)

    He/she will be responsible for detailed modeling of aircraft subsystems and components, reporting to the project art lead. Good knowledge of 3DS Max (including animation, rigging and skinning) is a must.

     

    These are PAID positions as external contibutors: payment scheme (one time fee or profit sharing) will depend on the project and your involment and effort.

     

    For all the positions above, fluent English (or Italian) is required.

  17. Exactly...
    In the current release the only bug on VOR and Tacan is the fact that the deviation show the true heading instead of the magnetic.
    The bug anyway has been already solved and the fix will be available as soon as possible
