  1. Judging from the poll, I believe a lot of Hornet virtual drivers will be surprised in WVR. BVR wise, a mid '00s Hornet has a certain technological advantage over the mid '80s 2000 C (I emphase the C, because a lot of people have little knowledge on the 2000 family...) but between the hands of a smart pilot the delta has significant chances. Not mentionning a dash 5 (or 9.. or I) versus Hornet matchup since we cannot replicate any in DCS.
  2. Would strengthened wings affect aircraft behavior in any way?
  3. It's rather poor, because of inherent limitation of FSX regarding FMs.
  4. Even though radar characteristics (PRI, freq...) would be different enough between the two for the RWR to accurately detect it, I don't believe this would be a relevant thing to display it (information overload), not to mention that the display usually shows 1-2 digits spots.

Well some -5s use Rafale technology.. but displays, not quite sure about this!

On what -5 type, for which user?
  7. Yes, there truly are no limits to what one can do when accuracy and realism is not a priority. Standards are a bit higher here in DCS though. "Realism" is 1/3rd of what you have - the sim and the system themselves & how could they relate to the real deal, and 2/3rd of what you do with it - how you use it. You would be surprised of what one can achieve with an aircraft that isn't properly simulated in appearance in the "free other sim". It's far from being all about rampstarts & checklists. ;)
  8. Slats add instability in normal flight, and they shouldn't be touched manually for the reasons quoted above :)
  9. Indeed, I did not test the previous versions extensively anyways ! Without precise public data on the real beast it's difficult to evaluate.. but from what I heard, read, ..., it bleeds a tad too much now (max G (elastic stop), full AB turn at SL from 500 kts).
  10. Energy bleed is an expected behavior with delta wing. However, it seems excessive in this module, and does not fit the behavior described by pilots.
  11. Not much, it's just formation flying. Wriggle your toes, and it'll be alright.
  12. actually, not always. heard and read that french accent is welcome (without exaggerating either) - as a French crew, wouldn't want an US AWACS to respond with a perfect Texan accent, thinking he was in contact with a native english speaker. In other words, a slight French accent is a good hint for all protagonists to express themselves in a understandable way for everyone..
  13. Nice pics. That green C is really disturbing though. For the 11e Escadre, I would rather see a blue one.
