  1. Same here. Hoping for a hint, where the train is going 2013, though.
  2. Merry Christmas, everybody!
  3. It didn't say when, today. Maybe we just have a few hours left.
  4. The automatic mapping only works for the Warthog, when you run in direct mode. This should work even after an update. However, if you mapped the Warthog with key-combinations, then your input files probably got damaged. So far, I only once had to remap everything. Usually after a reset I can still reload my previously saved input-file from the ingame menu.
  5. The idea is great, but not every truck or jeep has a stinger ready to fire. It would be nice to have that option, though. Maybe just in form of checkboxes: AA-Infantry, AT-Infantry, Standard Infantry. With the option of marking multiple types, you can simulate special forces or teams equipped with both.
  6. ED is working hard on many fronts at the same time. Don't expect everything to be fixed in one patch.
  7. Voted for Afghanistan. I'd prefer Europe or Korea, though.
  8. Rice Cakes. You boil them in hot oil. Once in the oil, the outside immediately gets sealed. If you keep them in the hot oil without puncturing them, the inside keeps boiling and building up pressure. He probably used to hot oil and/or forgot to puncture the cakes. When they started to popp, he just should have left them until they cooled down.
  9. Great video! Thanks for sharing. Sounds like you had a great time!
  10. Well, I doubt a dedicated server is top priority. So waiting will most likely take a while. That's my point.
  11. Hm, I'm not sure it's that easy. If there is no way out delivered by ED, just waiting most certainly won't make things better.
  12. I agree on the dedicated servers. But the netcode is very playable - not perfect! - but playable. Same is for the bugs. And Balance of Sides? You must be talking about LockOn. LockOn was a Head-To-Head gameset. DCS never was: Neither the A-10C nor the KA-50 were designed for air-to-air-combat. So it would make at least 2 other modules to give yourself an opponent. DCS is about teamworking against the environment. I bet this was also a major reason to start another US-fighter. And yet, with CA you still have the opportunity to play against each other. ;) IMHO an online-logbook, stats & trackers would be a much more interesting start than a set of 2 fighters. And it could even eliminate the teamkiller-issue.
  13. True. Official servers would be nice. :) On the refreshed debate: I can very well understand both sides. There are many reasons to lock a server for training or having fun with some friends. And there are many reasons for opening a server for newcomers and non-squadron-players. What I don't understand and what this doesn't explain: Why do there have to be 10-15 EMPTY and LOCKED servers all the time? Some of them running for DAYS on the same mission. And while we're at it: Why do 4-6 open servers all run the same mission? :D
  14. You underestimate the area. It's not just desert. There's some great geological formations, like the Valley of Fire, for example. And it's so fantastic to drive 2 h through the desert, then over a small slope and BAM! Las Vegas! Spectacular sight - especially at night.
