  1. Thanks mate... I know all about the squadrons and who flies what! Your talking to a spotter here!!!:megalol: I was just wondering if any had done any as I cannot be arsed doing them!!!! :joystick:
  2. Just wondering if you can add new squadrons to the logbook and also if anyone has done any UK Army Air Corps skins? Thanks
  3. I will be quite happy to by any of the dcs games and also flaming cliffs 2 if they go onto steam!
  4. I will not vote in this but all I will say is... Why does the next one have to be an american aircraft? Why can't we have something different like Rafale, Eurotiger, Grippen, Typhoon or Tornado? Most of the yank aircraft have been done to death... So why not something new and refreshing? Me myself I would love to see the Tornado or even the Harrier Gr9 (not the smegging yank thing). I do miss the pure interdiction/strike attack side of simulators. I used to love DI's Tornado. That had the best mission planner ever in a simulator!
  5. Last night my main hard drive boot sector failed and after several hours of fannying about trying to get the smegger to work, I may have to reformat... My problem is that I will lose and activation/deactivation because of the format. I can still access the drive as I have another with windows on. I had to this as I had sme urgent work that I had to get off the drive and sent away. Is there any way I can deactivate without having to boot from my main hard drive? Any help would be very much appreciated! I may not reply till Monday/Tuesday as I am away. Ian
  6. All i can say is that at least black shark is based on a helicoptor in and entering service and not one that was cancelled.......... Mmmmmmmm LONG BOW 2 Mmmmmmmmmmmm I loved that game when you flew it MP......PILOT AND GUNNER 'nuf said......im now drooling!! :P
  7. OMFG IM DROOLING :pilotfly::thumbup::lol: There at lockonfiles.com i take it?
  8. Well like I've said he's MS Certified! I've also sent him the link!
  9. Another thing to be aware of is VISTA is having problems with SATA drives. I have a friend who is MS Certified and he was installing it on his wifes machine. He told it wouldn't recognise the drive nad he had to roll it back to install it one IDE. Just thought it would be of some interest to you.
  10. The F-14 is a wonderful aircraft with some superb kit onboard and even tho it also started using it bombing capability its a lot cheaper to operate one type. In the world of ever decreasing military budgets somethings have to go.....
  11. Ive tried the voice recognition software...its pretty useless unless you want to say "BVR" and find yourself dangling in a parachute. Or is it because I speak English and not American hahahahahaha:megalol:
  12. I think you are flying the Campaign AWACS kill mission. Its a while since I've flown it. I'll go on it later today and see how I get on. I'll post here with the results and tactics I used IF successful!!!:pilotfly:
  13. You are better of programming a profile for yourself. I tried using one done by another flyer and I didnt like it. It only took me about an hour to finalize it. I now have mode 1 for nav n general flight controls, mode 2 for a2a and mode 3 for a2g.:)
  14. Bugger I forgot about the AWACS Kill mission in the campaign! That does have Su27's!!! Formski....That mission is a swine! I would suggest getting high, say around the 25,000ft mark. You also need to lure the Su27's away from the AWACS. I pretty much ran south over the Black Sea lured the flankers away. Then go for the Mainstay!
  15. I play quite a lot. Mainly single player or COOP. I don't tend to do MP with live adversaries because I have got fed up with amraam spammers. Fair enough you can just about evade 2 or maybe 3 but then the other 3 or 4 of the six he fired at you.......nuf said! Plus my other half lives 390mile away so I don't get bitched at woooooooohooooooooooooo!!!! I wish it was 390miles!!!! Typo guys its 30mile away but hell I still get to fiddle with lomac on a daily basis!
  16. If we did that we could probably run every single display team in the world for a good few years!!!!!!!:lol::lol: Why can't BAe stump up some of the cash. They use the Red Arrows as a showcase for the Hawk
  17. Bugger.....No i dint read it right! Oops.... It wasn't the last waypoint sorry. It was the first! As i reached it I turned at right angels to the flight path of the A-50 & did a steep climb to about 20,000ft and then turned hot onto the A-50, still keeping the range out to about 35 or 40 miles. I first locked up one of the Floggers and ordered my wingman to engage this target. I then locked both the remaining Flogger and Mainstay up using Track While Scan (TWS). Then I rippled an AIM-120 AMRAAM at each target. I stayed up high until both missiles found there targets. The i rolled into a diving turn to the south-west lit the burners up and scarpered for the mountains! I also instructed my wingman to join up but unfortunately the SAM's got him! Keeping at right angles to the A-50 and its escort also kept me on the extreme engagement range of the S-300. Even if they get a missile off at you, you will have an easier time evading them. Thats why I also bugged out to the south west. Puts more distance between you and the SAM. There is the other pair of Floggers there to but you can either run for the mountains and loose them or drag them south with you and out of the protective umbrella of the S-300 site. Then if you want, get some distance and altitude on them. Then turn and engage them!
  18. I've just re-flown the mission. At the last waypoint head 360 and do zoom climb (30 to 40deg nose up) to about 25000ft. At that altitude you should be able to give your missiles a helping hand. It should give the missile a larger energy store to engage the targets since it does not have a large climb ahead of it. PS Get a Saitek X52. THere a fearsome bit of kit!!! In lomac my keyboard is now redundant :)
  19. These looks amazing guys!!! If you would like to see real USAF F-15C's in desert schemes have a look on the web for the 65th Aggressor Squadron. The USAF is now using the F-15 in the agressor role :):) EDIT- Just found this! http://www.afterburnerdecals.com/images/Img221.jpg How cool would it be to fly round in an Aggressor F-15 :D
  20. What I did was assign my wing man to engage the Mig-23's and go after the A-50 myself and to minimize being engaged by the SAM's, which is a S300 if i remember rightly, I get back down to the deck and slam the throttles full open and run for the hills. Once in the hills you can employ terrain masking and very quickly lose any pursuers. Also another trick is to employ AMRAAM and Track While Scan. With this you can lock the A-50 and its escort up and when you get into a position where you get a high PK and engage them by ripple firing the AIM-120. Thats how I did it but there are some talented pilots on here who could probably help you more!:pilotfly:
  21. Very true but keeping your speed above 300kts leaves room for errors. If you get below 300 and start turning in tight circles you will bleed energy and that will greatly improve the margin for errors and also leave you without the energy to defeat a missile shot. I've just had to delete a pile of typing and spelling mistakes....I'm English and you lot who are not type and spell better than me :megalol: EDIT- PS the flying brick was a joke :) Its like the old adage about the F4.......It proves the areodynamic theory that with enough power you can fly a brick :)
  22. Just a quick query..... You said you were at 300kph? That is about 165knts. Remember the Eagles hud is in knots not kilometers. The Eagles roll rate and turn radius is best at about 300 (550kph) to 400knots (730kph). Anything below that an it essentially becomes a flying brick
  23. Probably I have an inate problem problem off not being able to keep my gob shut..... Ive had several altercations coz of it!! My mouth is more like a spade coz it digs me into all kinds of problems.......
  24. And how many RAF pilot shvae you run into? Even tho I go to an awful lot of airbases and airshows in the UK....I still find the RAF pilots are arrogant twats.... Everyone else is brilliant....escpecially the swedes!!!
  25. OK Why are the F3's carrying AMRAAAM and not Skyflash if its that bad? I also have over 20 years worth of copies of Air Forces Monthly and how come i've never came accross a single topic saying such about the missile? Also the Shar pilot's seemed to have been very happy with the missile. But the Blue Vixen Radar was designed to be used in conjunction with AMRAAM something the Foxhunter wasn't and after all the probs they had with it, maybe it could be the radar not missile? I also never said it didn't need get info from the aircraft. What I was trying to say was - The missile uses the systems to its best advantage because once the pilot has fired the weapon and its off the rails he has nothing more to do with it. All updates everything is supplied autmatically by the systmes....So from a certain point of view it is fire and forget..... And as for the F/A-18. I did not say that it wasnt possible for it to just switch from a2a to a2g at the switch of a buttom. What i said was the likelyhood of it actually happeneing was very slim....as in.....the pilot is engaged in a fight with another aircaft and suddenly see's a nice juicey tank & deicdes to egages it while he still has bandits to deal with....don't twist my words. And as for RAF pilots laughin in my face.....let them. I find them to be rather arrogant and much preffer talkin to pilots of other nations because they are much more approachable and don't have an air of arogance about them....
