  1. When is the dynamic campagin coming to us on a dedicated ED server that can host a large ammount of players? When can couple and de -couple units in a group? Will we be able to move units seperate from each other that forms a group? i.e mobile SAM systems so they can used as they real life counter parts When are we getting the updated AI radio communication like ATC, AWACS, JSTAR, wingman.....

  3. I agree 80% of the post. Where I dont agree is that even old systems can be VERY effetive. To understand we need to look at how the different systems were designed and for what purpuse. Think about the russian airdefence as a onion. Many layers..... The most common mistake by mission creators regarding airdefence is placing the SA6 SA10 SA11 in a group right next to each other. Any of these in real life a about 5-15km apart. To illustrate: EWR/AWACS picks up a target that wiil be shared in the CC protocols. By the time the SA10 search radar picks up the SA10 TELAR is in lunch range. SA11s are spread around and i turn protecting the CC points and high value targets. Same principal...by the time time the snow drift emits the TELAR is in NEZ or slightly over. The SA15 and SA16 are networked with the Sphorka radar that is networked with the EWR/AWACS/BIG BIRD/SNOW DRIFT. And then there are the IR sams reciving data/commands from the CC. The real problem is indeed the grouping logic. Unless all the units are in the same group they are sitting ducks. Then there is the GREEN/RED state. Nothing in between. When we will be able to LINK different units and have a better combat logic one of the most dangerous task is going to be SEAD/DEAD. If you are interested in a lay out pm me and we can chat about it. But the unit mechamism needs an overhaul....GUI needs an ovehaul and more options(better combat logic).
  4. make sure you have the right rocket and you use the right BALLISTIC SETTING for them. This is at the back on the right side. Consult the manual for the right setting
  5. oh boy.... the radar on the hornet AND the viper is wip. the drag is wip the flight envelope is wip the GAME is wip we are lucky to have them. there is no competion and untill there is the pace of development and priority will be mostly the same as for the last 10 years. so yes there are things that one aircraft does better then the other.....thats how the US warmachine works. so thanks fof the drag test......anything from that onwards is comparing apples and oranges. and this thing.....balnced and equal....war isnt..... simulation of a war isnt..... life isnt...... there is no throphy for attendance....
  6. Manual fire (deffalut by "A") on and you can achive 8.5km kill if ypur target is at a lower elevation. 8km if its on the same altitude as you. The vikhir is faster than the sa15s missile, so if you manage to lunch first the vikhir will get there 1st. It can be a bit of a gamble since you might miss. Therefore terrain maskimg is a MUST.

I understand that Vertgo72 is a "noobish" aviation enthusiaist...so lets go down into the rabot hole. 1: In order to fire a projectile to the opposite way of the lunch vechicles vector has numerous problems -aqusition this needs a sensor that has a unrestrict 3d view to the rear of 90○ allaround -projectile/missile has to effective in the same manner as the sensor and possible to lunch in that envelope without damaging the aircraft -missile sensor has be able to see the enemy aircraft heat signature. on top of all these basic phisics. the missile has to be stable after lunch effectivly flying backwards before transitoning to forward forward flight wich is opposite of the lunch aircrafts vector. 2: Meteor air to air missile
  8. I found that we can use the Aim120 to kill safelites. Quite a few times the missiles went above 100.000ft at 1400kts+. I guess its still wip....
  9. What you are missing is to select A/G mode on. The targeting pod works in Nav mode as well but you cant see the targeting symbogy. It is also worth to create waypoints/point of interest and in A/G mode on the HSI after selecting the waypoint/POI press wpdsg. That will slew the pod to the coordinates that has been entered.

  11. Tried that... no joy looked at the profiler and under the profile edit i can mess with the ffb but it just turned it off and now its just a limp stick... Yes the ffb works with the fc3 and f18....

  13. Joystick Without Springs and FFB: After trimming, the joystick stays exactly where it is, but the forces are neutralized. That... It will not happen. I have 3000H in the Shark and after a lenghly break from it (got fed up at the time with the broken cockpit etc...) I want back in.:joystick::pilotfly: The FFB will not stay in place no matter what i do. Any ideas out there that I can try? Controler driver is as recent as it can be.   14. Maybe you boresighted the weapon. Does this present itself when the helmet mounted aim is on?
  15. Hey all. I have a bit of knowlage how the soviet/russian layered Air Defence is implemented in real life. Since the implementation of mobile systems (SA-6) onwards the russian/soviet A/D has become a serious problem for enemy air force. To give an exaple : A SA11 battery(CCunit SR unit and 6 TEL) would be spread out like spider web with the CC and SR in the midle. This ensures that aircraft within the SRs detection range is in the TELs NEZ. The CC and SR usualy is defended by SA16/SA15 and the TELs with SA13. On top of this BTR80s with infantry equiped with MANPAD and ATGM capability. At present in the game this isnt modeled. Unless the mission designer places these units according mentioned above and with no fuel, upon giving move order will move the whole battery to the designated waypoint. Can/will this be modeled where AD units can move individualy and be linked to a CC to recive target data as in real life? I will mention it that the SA16 in game currently dosent have the full capability to kill the aircraft. These SAMs have a silent mode. The SR (not the onboard SR) will relay target information to the SA16 and in turn the SA16 will use its optical system to ID and kill the aircraft without emmiting. So a capable CA commander equiped with such capability would rewrite game mechanics.
  16. All the haters are such experts. Maybe...just maybe ED has more information and access about the Ka50 that all of us combined. Im pleased to see this module brought inline with the modern battlefield requirements. All the haters will keep hating and buying playing.... So whats the fuss.....
  17. the su25t in game has no DL ability. there is no russian module apart the ka50 that can share data. the ka50 is not a scout....it needs certain battlefield circumtances to be reslised to operate. you can add target coordinates via the abris read from the JTAC
  18. Simply put: the A10 is a hammer. The F18 is a scalpel. The primary role of the A10 was the destruction of soviet mass tank forces. Hence the amount of ATGM capability. The upgrade © made the aircraft more deadly in this role while the F18s role is the destuction of enemy aircraft first and any A/G is secondary. The mission package with the navy/marines requires that the AC gets there and gets out fast. The Airfoce likes to linger :)
  19. Add the solid booster smoke sure.... Also add the electro optical guidence with networked radar picture. In real life the SA 19 operates as a point defence unit protecting high value assets. The likes of SA 300/400 power plants, airfields, ammo dumps etc... It one of the last layers of the air defence NETWORK. The bigger radars provide picture to the units like SA15/19 and these will not turn their search locators on untill the target is in the NEZ. To make the SA19 even more deadly it can search/track/engage with the EO system and only turns the firecontrol radar on in the terminal phase of the engagement. The LAST 4-5 SECOND. So yes i like to see the booster smoke.. but also this network logic.
  20. I havent been on for a good while..... and i got to find out that what made my evenings and afternoons for years real fun (apart the bike and gunrange...and yes the wife) is getting updated. Exelent... will it be the cost of a brand new module or a bit to pay to upgrade...i could not give a rats ass.... i have 2 suggetsions for the wingers... learn to code and make it happen or dont fly the module and learn one of the most unique aircraft. I think i have over 2000h in it and it sill amazes me when it all works and i get immersed on a 4h mission.... kudos for ED for it.....i hope we will see the rwr on the abris

  22. Hello all after a long leave from DCS i got back into it Im finding that the MIG29C airbrake dosent seem to work. I have tried the default "B" and also on the hotas (g940). I ried all the buttons and none will activate the breaks. It will show that the bind is done while in config. :joystick: No im not trying to extend them while the gears are down. Also the "Stick Deflection Limiter" is a new bind. What does it do really? (is this all https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3662778 ) ? I have a few thousand hours in DCS and I have never came across this sort of problem. Running "Stable" Dcs 2.5.3.22877 Any help is welcome
  23. Hey all Im looking for a Ka50 cockpit mod that turns the targeting display to monochrom color. For ver 1.5.2 i have looked at Ricardos but not sure it works. Any help?
