  1. I watched the review at SimUK and he mentioned that there is currently development work being done for a UTC v3. If this is true, do we have any kind of eta on when that will be ready? I've been using my hat clip for a while and I'm looking to upgrade, but I can continue waiting if v3 is right over the horizon.
  2. I can't seem to download the audio clip at the provided link. Is it down now or is it possibly a problem on my end?
  3. Hey Jamison: Along with everyone else, I appreciate you giving back to the community. I'd like to be entered into the drawing as well. Thanks for your charity.
  4. It was indeed in multiplayer, so I guess that's out. If the master arm was turned off, wouldn't that prevent me from releasing bombs? In this particular instance, I had just finished deploying my bomb racks on targets, and only had the AGMs left. I had been saving them for long range targets such as AA, but the flight lead requested I use them to exterminate two final targets. And...I usually have a very bad habit of never turning off Master Arm ;) I'm ready to rock and roll even when landing :D
  5. If this were the case, shouldn't their color change similar to the bombs? Or is this possibly a unique thing that the training AGM's don't change to a blue color? The missiles I had loaded were green and white I believe. Maybe in my excitement of blowing *%#@ up, I mis-identified them, but I'm almost 100% sure they were green and white.
  6. I have no idea...I don't make tracks myself, not sure if they're saved automatically in multiplayer or not. If they're saved automatically, what's the folder path they're at? I'm at work right now, so I'll have to check once I'm home.
  7. I encountered a situation a few nights ago that I don't understand, and I'm hoping the general public here can help pin point what (if any, ie: maybe a bug?) I did wrong. I ran a sortie with a group of buddies that required a second landing + a rearm. The first flight, my armament consisted of GBU-12's and GBU-38's. It was a successful run and I RTB'd once I was Winchester. For the second flight, my lead requested I bring an AGM-D and an AGM-H. I used the alt + ' command (I think? I don't have it memorized, I usually have the lead remind me :P) and rearmed with that. During this process, I had the ground crew connect ground power, and I shut down my aircraft engines as I had taken damage. The ground crew repaired my A-10C, refueled it, and then re-armed. So far, so good. Once the re-arming was complete, and I visually inspected I had weapons on station, I reloaded my DSMS page and verified the weapons were there. However...Once I was in the air and I went to release an AGM on a fully locked target...nothing happened. The DSMS display showed the weapon no longer existed as if it was fired, but it was still quite firmly attached to my plane. I tried the second AGM, and the same thing happened to it as well. I re-reloaded my DSMS page and tried again. The same thing happened. This did not happen with my GBU-12's I also brought this time. They worked perfectly fine. Does anyone have any experience with this and know why the AGM's wouldn't fire?
  8. If this is the case, a quick disconnect and reconnect before starting DCS should fix the problem as well. Though that could become rather tedious if you have to do it after every time you put your machine to sleep depending on how frequently your machine takes a nap.
  9. I'm doing this from memory at work, so it's almost definitely not precise: There's an option somewhere in your settings menu called "Syncronize HOTAS Controls" or something to that affect. Make sure that's checked. Most of the time I experience exactly what you're describing, that option is not turned on. Double check that, and post back with your results.
  10. All of this was very useful information, so thank you to all of you that responded. I want try using PVC for my pipe to start with as it seems cheaper to dial in the perfect length with PVC, and then once I have a length that feels good to me I can move into copper. The Warthog thread size was particularly helpful. I know now exactly what to hunt for. Again, thanks for taking the time to respond!
  11. I've been mulling over the idea of building my own stick extension for quite a while, and I have finally decided to give it a whirl. Does anyone have any experience making an extension out of plumbing PVC material? If you do, is there any chance you remember item numbers? It'd be great if I could roll up to Home Depot and get what I need without having to hunt around, and I definitely would prefer to not bring the joystick in to dry fit things :) Also, is there any reason why I would want to put the bend in the extension similar to the real stick? It seems like you may cause some strange balance issues if you're shifting the weight of the stick back due to a bent extension.
  12. I've been following this thread since it was created (along with the Warthog replacement slew). This may have been asked, and I forgot...but I think it's a good review question :) Are there any plans at all in the far future to build your own Force Feedback system? Excluding that dastardly crap slew on the warthog, it feels like the manufacturers are slighting us simmers by making mostly great sticks, without the immersive quality of FFB. If you are planning this, I would probably suggest getting your initial line out first, and then a FFB collection. Obviously that would require more money for you, and from us. But if you built it to the quality you're projecting for a standard stick, I think you're going to have a lot of people throwing money at your face. :)
  13. As a financially conscientious person, I'm so in for the cold hardened resin. I buy all the planes when they're on discount. For every plane I own (almost all of them) I'd happily throw down money for a full set for each plane with a resin build. It would become prohibitively more expensive to do that with aluminum. Plus...you said resin was what the real planes use. If it works for the military, I'll be damned if it doesn't work for me! Edit!: Is it possible you've been working on your own in house collective as well? I own a few of the choppers, but never got into flying them because it felt far too unauthentic using the WH throttle instead of a real collective.
  14. I'm in for this if it gets made! Putting this thread on my watch list, just like your stick replacement thread is on my watch list :)
  15. I'm in for a slew fix and any current age jets hotas system myself :) If I ever got into flying the old birds enough I'd go for them as well, but it hasn't happened just yet. "Shut up and take my money!"
  16. It would be truly stellar if we could get a simple fix for that infernal slew. That damned thing is the black spot on an otherwise immaculately designed computer peripheral.
  17. Hey Rabble, can you post back and mention whether these missions are working or not? I remember asking a while back (several patches ago) if they were still functional, and Dragon said he didn't know and that he has since stopped maintaining them. So if you have success, it'd be appreciated to hear back from you, and I might include them in my own training mission lineups.
  18. This happened to me and a buddy about 2 days ago. Kept getting stuck on connecting to master server. We simply changed our e-store password (the same one used to login the multiplayer) and it seemed to fix the problem. Give that a try gents.
  19. The support ticket system will work, but I think the entire activation/deactivation method needs a complete overhaul. As more and more modules are released, what happens if someone (like me, spring cleaning!) formats? I've been known to reformat machine up to a few times a year. That could be 5 - 10 modules I have to remember to deactivate. It's not a good system. It's the one we have right now, but it needs to be better.
  20. Ohh...then it sounds like, as long as I'm not stepping/stomping on the pedals, I could go with the cheaper Saitek pedals if I want the extra distance. Is this a correct assumption?
  21. Thanks for the info you two. Do either of you fly with the stick between your legs? It seems like how close the pedals are together may limit your stick's maneuverability if you do an extension mod and fly with the stick between your legs.
  22. So I've finally scraped and saved to buy the Warthog and rudder pedals. I've read that the CH pedals are like tanks and never break, but they "appear" to be very close to each other to me. I'm hoping to get feedback from you experts on three of the rudder pedals that seem to be the highest quality. CH Pro Pedals: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000512IE/ref=pd_luc_rh_bxgy_01_04_t_lh?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (Seems to be the best bargain given the longevity reports I've read) Saitek's Combat Pedals: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004ING996/ref=pd_luc_rh_bxgy_01_01_t_lh?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (I like the idea of adjustability, and they're further apart which seems a little more closer to how I naturally sit) Or the MFG Crosswinds: http://mfg.simundza.com/mfgcrosswind.php I probably "shouldn't" invest in the Crosswinds, but if they're the creme de la creme, I can eat ramen for a few weeks to justify the purchase :megalol: I appreciate any and all feedback, even if it's anecdotal "this just felt better to me". It's still a data point, and I value all data points.
  23. Did you make that extension or was that a premade rod that others can go and purchase from a hardware store?
  24. Mmmmm I love me some sales. I only had BS2, A10C, and the P51...until this sale. Plopped down some cash and now I have everything except MiG-21bis and the Bf 109. Pretty sure that's enough simcraft to keep me busy until those two go on a bigger sale too!
