  1. I deserve it as the best pilots need the best gear.
  2. Well I'm only 19 and the RAF weren't recruiting pilots when I was finishing school so I'm at University at the moment to get a psychology degree and an education in heavy drinking and learning to be an adult. Hopefully into the fast jets after uni, if not then the marines. If not that then something sailing related, either teaching (which I currently do as a summer job) or delivering yachts to rich people. I don't think I could ever work in an office.
  3. That this is an internal issue for a private company. Funders are getting what they paid for and it doesn't help when people speculate on things they know very little about.
  4. Youngest of three brothers, so I may just remember them playing it :P
  5. 19 next month, boy do I feel young. My first gaming device was a GB colour and the first PC game I played was Aladin from a floppy.
  6. Would it be possible to put nav aids on the downed pilots like ADF?
  7. You won't get the Master Caution if you turn your Inverter on BEFORE the Battery.
  8. If Star Citizen is Flaming cliffs, then this is DCS. Looks promising.
  9. Ok guys lets not jump to conclusion, but I think we can safely say the F-18c is the new fast jet :P
  10. There are few words to describe how awesome that video is, you said it was 'very big and ambitious' well you bit off more than you could chew, then you chewed it :D You really don't have as many views and subscribers as someone with your skill ought to have. Awesome stuff, can't wait to see more.

    Do it UAV !

I'd be interested if a third party did do this, to see how they laid out the UI. Having said that, at the current level of development, there isn't much of a use for something like this, the MQ-9's primary role is counter-insurgency, covering troops on the ground. The DCS doesn't really cater to that level of simulation on the ground. For now at least.
  12. Possibly one of the highest quality videos I've seen come out of Russia, thanks for sharing!
  13. I would get the A-10c, it's (compared to the Ka-50) fairly easy to get up and going and shooting some targets, and doesn't take as long to get used to the flight model. The P-51D would be my next recommendation however you're less likely to find multi-player missions with P-51 slots as the Ka-50 or P-51D.
  14. Two beauties here One from RAF history. De Havilland Sea Vixen The other a Westland Lynx
  15. KAI really knows how to make awesome looking jets. It's like a cross between every currently serving US fighter.
  16. Changed, not really sure how I managed that.
  17. That was beautiful, thanks for sharing.
  18. Ok, will change my PSU for the ZT750, corsair would take me way out of my budget. I've made my final decision on my mobo, gonna go for asus http://www.ebuyer.com/291652 Thanks for the input guys, first time PC builder here so i'm a tad clueless.
  19. Ok here is what I'm looking at CPU: i5 2500k @3.30ghz OC'd to 4-4.3ghz Motherboard: Currently undecided on what brand (Asus/Gigabyte/ASRock) looking something along the lines of http://www.ebuyer.com/288926 GPU: ATI 6970 @2gb vram PSU: Corsair TX650 http://www.ebuyer.com/257232 RAM: http://www.amazon.co.uk/G-Skill-PC3-10666-RipjawsX-7-7-7-21-Channel/dp/B004I789CM/ Cooling: Corsair H60 All together should be under £800 (inc OS)
  20. Hi guys, I'm looking at getting 8gb of RAM for a new PC build and was wondering if you could give me any guidance regarding latency vs clock speeds etc. I've heard lower latency is more important than higher clock speeds. Currently looking at getting http://www.amazon.co.uk/G-Skill-PC3-10666-RipjawsX-7-7-7-21-Channel/dp/B004I789CM/ thoughts? cheers in advance.
  21. To be honest, I would just go for the i5 2500k, it's practically the same for much cheaper, the only advantage the i7 has is hyperthreading which is only useful for video editing and would not improve DCS performance.
  22. Wow, nice pictures, those T-50s look pretty damn awesome, would love seeing them in DCS in the distant future :P
  23. You may wanna try using ArmaII launcher (http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=8241) to keep track of your mods, it allows you to group certain mods into certain folders and enable them and disable them with relative ease. Also it has some nifty features in the launch options like selecting number of cpus, max memory that can speed your game up. And no splash screen and selecting default world to empty will mean the game loads faster.
