  4. Sands of Fire, for the people that don't know it, is a Battlefield 2 machinima with some scenes made in Lockon and also DCS A10. I would like to thank Glowing Amraam for helping us in the Lockon and DCS a10 shots. releasing this movie feels like closing a chapter in our lives. Six years of our still (well, maybe not) young lives seems so much, yet so little. All things come to an end, and so does the production of this movie. We've finally finished it, we're very proud we did. And we owe it all to you, the fans. This movie was made for fun and we hope you're having fun watching it. Remember, we're still no professional editors, we're still doing this out of passion for movie making, and no, we're still not getting any money out of this. Just saying, this movie came to existance because these two crazy creative minds collided and decided to make Machinima. so you can download the movie from our blog and read a bit about our history. http://digital-warriors.blogspot.com/ Some people here may remember me from another Machinima, Unleash Hell, made with Lockon. Streaming version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQxJhXWWv2M&feature=player_embedded enjoy the movie
  5. I have the same problem, still haven't found a fix? Everything works fine, microstick works as mouse and comes in conflict with trackir(shaking view) Can someone help me? thanks
  6. Because at the end, they are all the same. The look change, but thats about it. why you think that Bill et john got so good? they had a strong story. Its not the effects that makes a good movie.
  7. GA, start with making a good story ;) One of the last things in movie productions are effects and colorgrading.
  8. Good that the PS3 will be here in March.
  9. Nice movie, very cool camera angles. but... you know how i am, there is always a but ;) What im gonna say now is not to criticize your movie but just trying to help so you can make a better movie. When I watched this movie, yeah it was cool, but I didnt understand a thing of what was happening. yeah cool camera angles and stuff but that isnt enough for making a good movie. thats the problem of the most lockon movie makers. And i know it is not easy to make movies. when you show this movie to a person that dont know anything about jets(what is a f15 or a su27) he wouldnt even now what is happening in the movie, its so fast, he wouldnt know who the enemy is, who are the good ones, why are they fighting each others, are they the same planes? I hope you understand what i mean. I think you should try to make a movie but not with the music in mind but with the story even if its a short clip. You first search a good music then you edit the clips on the music, and thats wrong. Try to first make a story, edit the movie without music, then search a good music that fits. Thats something you see in the best il2 movies, they are good because they are telling something, the one who watch knows who is who, he get absorbed in the movie and watch it till the end. in these kind of movies, you havent started to understand the story that you already see the end credits. Action scene, can be fast(or should be) but that doesnt mean they have to be total chaos, you have to know what you are doing. And you didn't convinced me to wait for the continue part. Even a video clip is more then just nice camera angles and effects. sorry for my bad english ;) greetz Little_Donkey
  10. Thanks For video editing i use Sony Vegas. gr
  11. Hello, Some will remember me from the ubisoft forum where I posted some IL2 and lockon movies such as Unleash hell. Afterwards I made The Fallen One, a machinima with the Battlefield Vietnam engine. The movie was a big hit and became one of the best battlefield machinima ever. Right now I'm working on Sands of Fire, My biggest movie project till now. This time we use the Battlefield2 and Lockon engine to tell a thrilling story about a soldier that gets trapped in the Iraqi desert. I'm doing all the stuff together with my clan LRRP for the BF2 part. Editing, story, effects are done by me and StRuPiE (who also helped met with The Fallen One). The lockon part in the movie will be done by Glowing Amraam and partially by me. So be sure to check it out. When will it be done? Soon, I hope. We are working on it for quite some time now. We released a teaser back in January of this year. It's getting more and more complex every day. We are constantly tweaking the story. I dont want to make a Battlefield2 movie but a stand-alone movie, so that when people will look at it, they can say its made from a game but has the feeling from a real motion picture (short movie). The teaser only shows a small part of the upcoming movie and most shots are not completely finished, many have changed already. http://files.filefront.com/SEARCH/;4567548;;/fileinfo.html Here are some screens from the project. And this one is from Lockon btw ;)
  12. It was ok, I know you can do better;) Remember that even if its short, put some more work in your title. The big and small movie projects put a lot of money, that only to show the title of the movie. start by using better colors for your titles, or just use white, using a lot of colors in titles like you did make it very cheap, even on small projects. gr Little_Donkey
  13. there is more then just vegas, I use vegas only for editing, and for me vegas and also other editing programs(avid, premiere,...) are not made for effects. Try some compositing programs and you can do everything you want.
  14. Hello, About the glow and color correction, you can get even better results with real compositing programs like after effects, combustion, shake and others. Think, that everything you can do with photoshop on still images, you can do that with a compositing program with moving images(movie), so you can go really far. I use vegas only for editing, all camera movements, color correction and effects i do that in Combustion and Digital fusion and lightwave3d for some effects and camera movements. About the rendering its not totally true what amraam said, rendering is the process where your pc or software calculate the image to the final image. Its the process where it generate all the pixels for the image. So all those effects you put on your image or movie, the pc cant play it in real time, or not at high res. So you need to render to see the final result as movie. For the sound effects, here in belgium you can rent cds at te library, and there are a lot of sound libraries, or you could be lucky like me and work at workplace where we use hollywood sound effects. ;)
  15. fps increase also for me, very good drivers. I also noticed that the graphics are much sharper, like the hud, very clean and sharp. But there is still the shadow bug:(
  16. The Version on that site isnt the right version of Unleash hell. Ok its the same but the better one is with Sound effects. I can upload it for you if you want. Just let me know
  17. have same problem, and not only that, my pc started crashing and got bsod(win32k.sys) I reinstalled lockon and got all kind of errors when installing, like couldnt read some files from cd, and couldnt finnish installation.
  18. and how do you activate that? and where?
  19. still a lot of things to do then? Hope it will really get ready for march2006, thats in 1month:confused:

  23. Hello I have Lockon Flaming cliffs and it really kicks ass. I bought also the trackir4 pro and it works just wonderfully with lockon. Now my question is, when i look around and then back in front of me, the view snaps to the front view. so its not like smooth moving. It always snaps back. So when i look in front of me i can't make like milimeter movements to left or right. Other games like il2, fs2004 or gtr dont have that snapping. So maybe some setting in lockon? Can someone help me? Its not that big problem but i was wondering if it was possible. thanks in advance Little_Donkey
