  1. So this has been in effect since 2021? I've never had to use it. Guess that's a good thing. Thanks Big Newy, they helped me out.
  2. Well, I'd like to know that too! I've never been asked that before, and dont even have one! Razzo, what is a 2fa?
  3. I bought a new external ssd and transferred DCS over to it. But I messed up! Boy did I ever. Now I'm trying to uninstall the mess I made. I'm going to have to reinstall everything. But I can't get in. It wants a Google authorization code. Where do I get that? Help out an idiot, please!
  4. You guys are all talking about projects that will probably take ten or more years to complete. The Corsair has been under development for the last eight years and we still don't have it. And you're talking about Spitfire Mk1's, 109E's, Stukas, Heinkel's...etc., for BOB. I won't see that in MY lifetime. A whole new planeset for the Med...it's not gonna happen. This isn't the sim for it. Modules take too long to develop for DCS. Be happy with what we've got and what is coming instead of worrying about what we DON'T and have never WILL. I think the Pacific may actually happen. I'm thrilled that a Hellcat is on the way. I'm going to enjoy that. You want the Battle of Britain? Paint the Mk9 as a Mk1 and put yourself up against an incoming raid of Ju-88's escorted by 109's. How much different will it be? Russian Front? Fly an I-16 or an LA-7 and escort some Soviet Havocs to a target on the Caucasus map. There's enough to you busy in DCS with what we have.
  5. Some of the mods I've seen created in here are amazing. The A4E comes to mind, and that beautiful T-45. If that can be done, isn't anyone interested in building a cockpit for the A-20 and making it flyable? I love this great light bomber, and it would be very exciting to fly it in DCS. The sim already has a really nice AI external model of the airplane so that wouldn't have to be touched. Coming in low with an A-20 and hitting shipping or airfields would be some exciting flying. And the airplane fits perfectly in both the European maps and upcoming Pacific maps. Flying low level missions against Japanese shipping on the Mariana's map! Just like those 5th Air Force Havoc drivers did. I've imagined it a hundred times. If someone is good at creating cockpits, please think about it.
  6. if you run any engine at too high an rpm at a long length of time, of course you are going to do damage. Most of the maximum top speeds you read of on these airplanes were only for a short period. A quick burst of speed to catch up to an enemy aircraft, or to run from one. If you did have to go past the wire the engine was usually replaced when you got back to the field. Try sitting in your car for a half hour with the engine running, and your gas pedal floored. See how that works out.
  7. Instead of trying half a dozen times to log in and then restarting my laptop two times...I just should have come in here to check, first. Good to know it's not at my end. Back to MSFS2020, I guess.
  8. "And you need build two versions, the ETO, and PTO..." You actually think that there were Pacific versions of the Lightning and European versions!? There was no difference which theater an airplane was sent to. They were rolled out of the factory and sent to wherever they were needed. Neither Lockheed, or any other aircraft manufacturer, had a Pacific and a European assembly line.
  9. Oh Mama! I had no idea that this was even in the works. I don't have any helicopters, but this one I want. I'm hoping this is the same quality as the A4E. Was planning on getting the Kiowa because I figured it was the closest we were ever going to get to a Loach!
  10. Are any modders out there interested in making the A-20G flyable? I'd Love to see that airplane get a high fidelity, clickable, cockpit . The Havoc was used in both Europe and the Pacific and would make a, fun as hell, airplane to go down and bomb Japanese ships with. Those 5th Air Force Havoc jockies were wild men and used to skim the deck of enemy ships and skip bomb 500 pounders into their hulls. I've been enjoying the Mosquito and think it would be great to do some similar missions as an USAAF pilot. The guys who did the A4E would probably make an incredible cockpit for that bomber. Just something on my wishlist that probably won't happen, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
  11. I'm looking forward to Mossie missions in this area.

  13. Years ago, when I first heard about this Spielberg/Hanks mini-series, I got pretty excited. An 8th Air Force series done by the same team that produced Brothers in Arms and The Pacific sounded like something I've been waiting for. Then for years, nothing. Much like the DCS F4U Corsair, I stopped checking on its development. Figured they felt it was too big a project, couldn't get funding, or no studio was interested. But I just saw an article about the show. HBO decided to bow out, but it was picked up by Apple TV. It has a release date of January 2024. The article showed the entire cast and some photos of the actors standing by a B-17. So, they've obviously been busy filming with a release date only four months away. I'm very much looking forward to this. It will be the last project in the World War Two trilogy and if it's as realistic and historically accurate as the other two I'll be pinned to the screen. Could it mean that there is also hope for the Corsair? I can dream.
  14. I haven't purchased any helicopters yet. Can they be flown without rudder pedals? I have a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro which I've been using for years. Will it work with choppers? It does have rudder controls, of course, by twisting the stick.
