  1. Hi Baltic Dragon, Encountering an issue with mission 12. Latest OB version. - I need to be very careful at taxi out to catapult 1. If I take an immediate right turn at the beginning of taxi it seems my wingman gets damaged by my jetblast (even with throttles in idle) and black smoke appears rising from his aircraft. - After I manage to get to cat 1 without blasting my wingman (achieved by making 270deg turns to avoid pointing my nozzles directly to his aircraft) I connect to cat1 and wait for blade to get in position on cat2. I launch after he is connected to the cat. When Blades launches seconds later from cat 2 he does not manage to get airborne but crashes on deck. Nose gear extended, main gear burried in the carrier deck, still in full burner and left wing in flames. Can you take a look if it still works on your end please? Regards, S.
  2. Converting is not too difficult @VirusAM & @Arbil Just divide the 'seconds' number that the JTAC gives you by 6 to get the 'decimals'. N25 54 00 --> 00/6 = 0 --> N25 54.00 E54 32 55 --> 55/6 = 9(.1666) --> E54 32.92 Regards, Sylvain
  3. Hi guys, I noticed the yellow tinted canopy option seems to be only rendered on the player controlled aircraft and not on the AI controlled Vipers. - Options - Specials - F16 - Canopy Tint: Tinted - Custom mission attached here. Start at Batumi on the apron. 1 player aircraft, 1 AI. Both are using the default livery. - Load mission and go to F2 view. Observe tint only applied on player aircraft. 4. :( That's not good... I must have missed one of the conditions then somehow. Any chance you could attach a track bkthunder?? The one in the original post doesn't work for me (always crashes into the ground) Cheers, Sylvain
  5. Can anyone try to reproduce the bug related to headwind and tailwind requiring different thrust settings to maintain the same IAS? It seems to me this one is solved. Couldn't reproduce at 30.000ft with 99kts of wind. The other 2 bugs are still present in OpenBeta 2.5.6.50979.
  6. Still present in OpenBeta 2.5.6.50979. Spool-up on the runway is OK. As soon as you are airborne you can reproduce the loss of thrust when advancing thrust levers. Track attached. Lets hope ED will look at this in their bugfixing round for next patch... F5WindBugEngine.trk
  7. No... Just tried the: INSTANT ACTION -> F/A-18 -> Nevada -> Ready at the ramp Left DDI is unreadable. The green background of the CRT is too pronounced in my opinion. The right DDI has some glare due to sun but looks more true to life. I've flown for years on aircraft with CRTs in the cockpit (granted, not with a bubble canopy) but never had the screens being completely unreadable due to the sun... Regards, Sylvain
  8. Exactly... it’s called Open Beta and not Open Alpha guys! Showstopper bugs discovered in the first 30sec of flying have no reason to ever be pushed to a big group of testers/customers. By pushing an unusable version to the crowd they also lose the opportunity to receive valuable feedback on so many other parts of the sim as lots of us are just gonna wait it out or revert to previous versions. Regards, Sylvain
  9. Still present... let's check again after todays planned update.
  10. Hi Eagle, Please attach a track for ED to review...
  11. Hi Orion, Can confirm the post of Big above. Scroll wheel works for rudder trim in both sides. Keybind for rudder trim RIGHT does not work yet. Regards, Sylvain
  12. Hi Shadow, Trim is working here for me on the Open Beta 2.5.6.50321 Instant action - Nevada - Takeoff Trim buttons on stick, stick itself, indicator on panel and flight controls all move with the trim keybinds. Regards, Sylvain
  13. I too support the idea of reducing the number of liveries in the core of DCS World. The size of the CoreMods folder grows exponentially over time with each released module. Some other users already tried to discuss this in the past. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=227783 The solution to add more and bigger SSD's may work for a desktop but is limited for laptops and a very expensive one indeed! All that to collect liveries for planes you are maybe not having the slightest intrest in?! :) Let's hope for a change in future DCS versions... Sylvain
  14. +1 After having received and acknowledged such detailed reports about these issues it would indeed be nice to be kept in the loop by the developers... Regards, Sylvain
  15. Hi Nikola, I would appreciate it if you could quickly explain how you managed to downsample the liveries. I’d like to do the same... :thumbup: Thanks! Sylvain
  16. Some kind of standardized max texture size would be nice indeed. Due to my work/life situation I don’t get to launch DCS a lot on my desktop when I’m at home. These days, I get to enjoy and use DCS much more when I’m on the road on a laptop. Unfortunately, storage is a concern on a laptop as more HDs or SSDs cannot be add due to the internal space constraints. My biggest issue with the actual system is probably that I have to reserve more and more storage for (liveries of) aircraft addons I’m not actually interested in at all...
  17. 3 months later the size of the CoreMods folder has now increased to 28Gb! HB's F-14, as magnificent as it is, takes up 5Gb on its own?! I'm not sure we'll be able to keep up at this pace... I agree that the price of big HDs is not an issue for desktop configs but customers having invested in a SSD for speed (or laptop users) are probably not keen on moving DCS back to a HD to store liveries they barely see on their monitor. I understand people would like to have (and keep) very detailed textures for their favourite addon but I think it's about time to start giving users more choice here. - A batch tool that reduces (halves) the size of all the texture files found in a specific folder would be a great help for example. - A way to use a single livery as placeholder for all the other liveries would be another way to drastically reduce the footprint. eg. if you need to display a Tomcat on my screen, always use the Pukin' Dogs livery and delete all other liveries from my SSD. What do others think about this quick growth nowadays? Regards, Sylvain
  18. Thanks Glyn for your hard work! Can’t wait to try it out...
  19. Hello guys, Thanks for all the replies! Harzach, your drawing made it crystal clear to me. A picture says a thousands words indeed ;) It also explains why after climbing to 12000ft to drop the bridge at waypoint 4 and stay clear of the AAA positioned next to it I had no problems using the same technique. Cheers, Sylvain
  20. Hi guys, I'm relatively new to this sim and very much enjoying the learning. :thumbup: I ran into an issue with the laser-guided GBU12. Using 12sec auto-lase and dropping them in CCRP mode they still miss the target although I see the bomb making track adjustments in external view (F6) after release. The target is a non-moving truck in the instant action scenario (to practice LGB dropping). Am I wrongly setting up the A-10 systems or are my expectations about the LGB accuracy/maneuverability set too high?? I was wondering if some experts could have a look at my attached track file to see what the issue is here... :joystick: Looking forward to your replies! Thanks in advance...
