  1. I can fully agree with this. If I could get a refund I would. Its fine for what it is, but in all honesty, I dont see it making it long term. I wont go into the all the issues, but I think a fair warning is justified.
  2. For the Steam version, install BS1 and open it once. No key needed. With BS1 installed and opened once with your Steam install, install World, and the BS2 upgrade. Start World, and launch BS2 mission, multi, quick mission...whatever. It will ask for a serial number for BS2 upgrade. Enter, it and enjoy.
  3. I really want this....which option is "yes"? lol
  4. Ton of bugs? LOL. The latest version is the best version. Also, adding in the auto-updater with 1.2 fixes were applied, and applied with ease. Also there is not a blue smoke trail bug. There is blue fire, but smoke trail is white. I did not lose any activations. Setting up commands is easy. Also, now with the auto-updater, you never have to do it again when a new update is released. You never have to re-install either. I dont see any good reason to not update your game.
  5. Thank you for this. Never realized how something so simple, could help someone navigationally challenged as myself.
  6. A for Auto pilot. B for Brakes. H for Hover.
  7. There is no end of the world coming.... Obviously, Belsimtek made the Myan Calander to tell the world of the release.
  8. Exactally. Getting an engine fire, and having to shut one down and crack the throttle on the other I find very useful. As this is the BS section, and the OP asked for its use for the Ka-50, I dont think that using the rotaries for trim on the chopper would be very helpful.
  9. The "old starforce" DRM system has not been used in quite some time. I wouldnt worry about it. The starforce DRM that DCS uses is not anything the old one that rendered some harware useless back in the day. Aside from that, I highly suggest spending a little more cash and getting Black Shark 2 (or Black Shark 2 upgrade since you have 1), and getting DCS World (free) and loading the BS2 module. Its the latest and greatest.
  10. The Ka-50 is the most fun aircraft to fly in DCS, in my opinion. No fancy, FLIR, or RWR, or advanced weapons systems, but damn good at what it can do. Kill stuff in a sneaky way. Using Devrims mods (which I highly reccomend) makes the BS perfect. Get the HD cockpit, and English cues mods you will be set.
  11. I can probably count on one hand that amount of games I purchased for sub $60 that I have played and enjoyed as much as a DCS module. Looking at money spent + time spent enjoying the purchase = DCS modules are more than a bargain. Honestly, I would spend $60+ for a DCS module, because I know I will get my monies worth 100 times over. Also, the bundle idea wont fly. Aside from the fact that it would take take time and money to make, bundle and release, it would also give people things they are not wanting. Someone who only wants a few aircraft on a list would shy away from a $120 purchase if they couldnt care less for most of them. That same person might pay $40 for the one aircraft they really like. I like the fact you can buy them seperatly. Buy what you want, leave what you dont.
  12. I think it does. When I was using a MSFFB2 it placed the stick in the trimmed position. I tried it on the X65 (enabled FF) and it seemed to do the same. It is hard to tell with the X65's force sensing, even with Ctrl Enter input display. Anyway, I am pretty sure you are correct.
  13. There is no "best". There is high quality and low quality. Its all on what fits your needs. You want Force Feedback? You want Force Sensing? You want simple? You want complex? You need pretty colors? As much as you will hear that the TM Warthog is the best in the world...there are other quality options. The X52 Pro is one that many, many people have and still use. Its priced right, decent quality, and easy to find. Very comman set. I used the x52 non-pro for 6 years and it still works. Its a good stick, not great. The Warthog is great quality, very pricey, and lots like it. I have never flown with one, just messed with it in the store. No worries, there are plenty here to go over it. The X65 is my personal favorite. Again, great qaulity and lots of setup options. Love the force sensing and the dual throttle. Once you get used to the force sensing, its like second nature. Even aircraft people are scared to try with it (Ka-50) is a breeze to fly. Tons of buttons and hats. Switchable hat switches is icing on the cake. Not a fan of the SST software. Not a fan of the price ($300ish). The MSFFB2 is still my favorite Force Feedback stick, and they are still selling (and working) even though they have been out of production for years. Nothing beats it for WWI/II sims, and does Heli's very well too.
  14. Its a simple process, and once installed its not like you have to do anything extra. Its far from difficult, or rocket science. Anyway, here is another post about it that explains it rather well. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98123
  15. Same here. I finally passed the FAM flight, completed the second mission, and CTD everytime when I land and quit.
  16. I agree. I have had no issues with ED's "drm" system at all. If you are looking for a combat flight simulator, nothing can beat DCS.
  17. Yeah, I am making sure it isnt a radar missle I am hit with, but even went I am lased by a tank, I am not getting the usual "warning, under attack". I am pretty good with the Ka-50, but maybe after flying the F15 for a while I am missing a button flip or switch. Ill check again. Good to know its just user error, and not a bug :). Thanks guys, Ill check again.
  18. For some reason I am not getting the laser warning when being lased. Is this something anyone else is getting (or not getting)?
  19. Offended? No. Just trying to make sure the OP gets the correct answer, and then answering your questions as well.
  20. Because, it needs to verify that BS1 is installed, hence step 1. After you enter code for BS2 upgrade (step 3) you dont need it anymore. Just like Lock On for flaming cliffs....it checks to make sure you have it. After that there is no need. It doesnt ask for a code everytime you launch a module. Not sure why thats hard to understand.
  21. Not true at all. 1. Buy BS1 from steam, install it, launch it ONCE. 2. Buy BS2 upgrade from ED, install the BS2 World upgrade module here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=13&end_pos=136&lang=en 3. Launch world, and fly the BS, it will ask for a code, enter the code from the above BS2 upgrade module. Enjoy the game. 4. Uninstall BS1. Simple as that. If you need to re-install DCS World, you will need to re-install BS1 from steam, and follow the steps above. Its not as much hassle as people try to make it out to be.
  22. Correct on everything...except you dont need to install BS1 and the BS2 upgrade standalone if you do a re-install. Just BS1, then install the World BS2 upgrade module.
  23. Channel map for RoF is also based on the same engine and area (small) that RoF has been using. Throw in lack of ground object (i.e. no infantry, severe lack of vehicles, empty airfields), and it shoud not take much time to make. Trying to compare the simplistic landscape of RoF to DCS is silly.
