  1. Germans should have artillery that can reach 6 to 7.5 miles or 11km to 12km max range with infantry assault guns easily reaching over 4000 meters. Allies should have some weapons that also reach close to those distances.
  2. Bombing Tutorial I did a while back that I figure may get some use now that we have WWII units. I really need to get back to flying.
  3. I'd imagine current fixes/updates, Hornet, 2.5, and hopefully the new damage model are first on the plate. I'm betting we don't see this one until 2018.
  4. Looks pretty good so far in Alpha. Saw quite a few bugs that need to be ironed out but I didn't notice any framerate problems. B-17 damage model needs quite a lot of work. I thought I was shooting down Cessna's.
  5. Any one getting a weird aqua color in Las Vegas and something doesn't look right about vegetation on the mountains?
  6. Windows 10 users can hit Windows button and x. Select Command Prompt Enter cd\ Then enter CD PROGRAM FILES\EAGLE DYNAMICS\DCS WORLD 2 OpenAlpha\BIN\ Then enter dcs_updater.exe install NORMANDY_terrain dcs_updater.exe install WWII-ARMOUR
  7. Please note that the DCS: M-2000C, and all future DCS World DLC releases on Steam, will now use Steam Keys instead of Starforce keys. As such, these purchases cannot be activated on the DCS World e-Shop version. Previous purchases will not be affected. Well this sucks for some people and I hope they make a disclaimer on all Steam purchases so no one misses this. Probably should be a separate post somewhere here from DCS official in case someone misses the email or post.
  8. Can't we get any info on the development. External done? Have the proper information to complete the project now? Will it be touched at any point or is it on hold till other things are finished?
  9. But were they flying with 500 octane fuel while using there 100 HG emergency power is the real question. ;)
  10. ... and thats how we end up with devs that quit showing us WIP like VEAO. If you see a video thats going Beta in 2 weeks it would be one thing to mention it but otherwise quit complaining.
  11. Yeah that was a big seller and made perfect sense. Hopefully it got far enough along that they will finish it.
  12. Did you contact their support? Waiting on my joystick to get fixed.
  13. Yeah it would be nice to hear an update. After flying the IL2 Stuka I'm really interested to see the flight model in DCS.
  14. Continue to dream about the P47 and map my controls while I'm bored.
  15. Any dev updates for the Stuka? One of the few I'm looking forward to trying.
  16. Those doubting how well this plane will do on the servers might be surprised. I think this plane will do very well especially against new German pilots. Plus the German side seems to be less coordinated into pairs than the allies especially on the Dow server. Won't be anyone to bail you out if you get low and slow.
  17. I'm fine with someone building Russian planes but what a choice. I guess its better than having another trainer.
  18. I end up with a lot of pilot kills with the 30mm cannon but yeah DM really needs work especially with fluids (coolant, oil, and fuel). Most of my kills are probably still engine kills almost immediately, prop gov gradual, or shooting off a wing especially in the Dora. It would be nice to see more fires because that and engine failure probably led to shoot downs than wings/tails being shot off completely. Would be great to see things like smoke in the cockpit or oil on the windscreen which should lead to a bailout of the craft. I really hope that the Spitfire will have a new standard of DM before release. It would be a pity to have to go back and address every WWII fighter.
  19. This guy talks about compression and recovery during WWII. Great interview overall.
  20. Stukas were tough planes to begin with because of the dive bomber characteristics and I believe the D/G version had more armor than earlier versions. I forget how many 37mm rounds Rudel's plane took on the eastern front and he made it back. I doubt we will be shooting down many Mustangs or Spitfires but I hope to make it challenging for them.
  21. 15 curve is reducing it way to much ... especially on the ground with no airspeed. No wonder your have trouble on takeoff/landings. You have virtually no rudder input at all. I left X saturation alone at 100 and changed Y to 60 so I still have enough control on the ground but balance doing hammerheads or other combat maneuvers. I've tightened the spring quite a bit but may lower it for helos. I agree unscrewing over and over for each module isn't favorable.
  22. Happy with my stick but wouldn't mind seeing a new throttle. Got my Crosswind pedals so I think I'm good unless they release combat pedals in the next few years.
  23. Got a question for other Crosswind owners. I'm having a problem flying the Dora with the crosswinds and need to tone them down for this craft. They are just two responsive or sensitive for steady flight or most combat maneuvers. No problems with the Mustang or K-4 but the Dora I've had some problems adjusting to. Just wondering what others have done ... I hate messing with the MFG software side of it because it will change everything on other aircraft that I don't have a problem. I have lowered or changed curves on the DCS which helped some but looking for suggestions.
  24. Pretty jealous. They may have to touch up the Dora, Mustang, etc because that interior looks fantastic.
  25. Twin engine and lack of American developers would be my guess. Unless someone like Leatherneck or ED does it I don't see it happening anytime soon. VEAO (British) is concentrating on aircraft they are interested in and have access to the planes which is why you see the F8, Vampire, P40, etc. Is someone really making an I-16?
