  1. Well, I don't want this to happen: Don't worry, the crew member came out with minor injuries.
  2. Aahhh, sounds about right. Will try that, captain. Thanks.
  3. OK, I have a quick question, and I haven't found the answer anywhere on the documentation, YouTube video, or any forum our there. This is basically what the problem is: - Land my plane and taxi back to the TARMAC for Ream/Refuel - Throttle to idle and apply parking brake - For safety reasons (ground crew) I stop my engine by moving the fuel shutoff handle to the OFF position. - Engine stops - Refuel is completed - Fuel shutoff handle back to ON position - Start engine switch back to Start to start the engine again for another departure - I can hear the APU spooling, but no engine start. Is this because of a temperature issue? maybe I have to wait until the engine cools down before attempting to restart it. Maybe this is not the right way to stop the engine, you guys tell me. Even better, could any of you point me to a descriptive video where the pilot stops the engine, refuels, restarts the engine and departs again? Thanks for your valuable help, captains!! Houd.

It's not working on my end. I just recovered my original main.lua and will wait until Master Panzertard comes back with his blessings. houd.
  5. How about the ability to have real dynamic weather, just like FSX. Get information from an online server about the weather from the Caucasus. Imagine playing the same mission, with rain, or fog, or a clear day instead of the same weather every time. see if you guys can make some kind or arrangement with Jeppesen to pull information from their server. And if they don't have the Caucasus available, then pull the information from a specific city in the world, depending on what the mission designer decides. And of course (and I'll never give up on this) AH64D apache!!! and revive the old Jane's days. Houd
  6. Hey Cotsman. What if you try with the files on the webpage? and use the serial numbers you already have? Uninstall everything and remove saved games folder. Clean the registry as explained above. download BS1. Install it and activate it. Download DCS world and the module for A-10. Let DCS World self update. Run multiplayer, activate the A-10 and try it. Repeat the process with the BS2 upgrade module. Make sure you don't install the standalone games, just the modules. See what happens and post your results. Houd.
  7. Ok folks, I finally was able to make it work!!! First, I must thank the valuable help from Master 159th_viper. His wisdom was the light on this dark ages!!! This is what you have to do: for those who purchased BS2 Upgrade (like me): - Leave black shark 1 fully activated. - Uninstall black shark 2 and World. - Delete all folders containing any information about DCS BS2 and World: By default, they are located at: - for windows 64x c:\program files\eagle dynamics - Remove also your saved games: By default, they are located at: - c:\users\[username]\saved games - After all files are removed, erase the registry entry mentioned by Viper: - You can either run the file he posted above. It will download as an .reg.mp3, just rename it and remove the mp3 extension. Right click on the file and select MERGE. - Or you can locate the following entry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics by running regedit and go ahead and delete the registry entry. BE CAREFUL WITH EDITING THE REGISTRY. I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU RUIN YOUR REGISTRY AND YOUR COMPUTER TURNS INTO AN APPLE, LOL. just kidding (about apple, the registry is serious thing!) - Once the files were removed and the registry was clean, proceed to install DCS world. I ran the following file: DCS_World_en_1.2.1.5970.exe. - Very important step, thanks to Viper for this advice: DO NOT INSTALL BLACK SHARK 2, FULL OR UPGRADE (the standalone game). This was my mistake and that's why I was getting an error. You need to install just the module for BS2. - Proceed to install the BS2 module, depending on what you purchased, on my case, I purchased the upgrade from BS1. So my file is: KA-50_bsupd_1.2.1.5970.exe - Run DCS world the first time and let the platform update to the latest version. - Run DCS World multiplayer: A new activation window shows up, but this time the serial number was not pre-populated. I proceeded to enter my serial number and pressed next. This time, the product was successfully activated!!! - Joined a server and jumped into a Chopper in disbelief, and it worked perfectly!!! PROBLEM SOLVED!!!! Hope this helps. Thanks again, Viper!! Houd.
  8. Hey Viper. Question: Do I have to uninstall ALL the products again? including BS1 and Flaming Cliffs 2? This is my current situation: Installed on my computer: - Lock On Modern air combat and Flaming Cliffs 2 (Working perfectly) - Black Shark 1 Full Version (Activated and working perfectly) - Black Shark 2 Upgrade Version (not activated, probably working perfectly) - DCS World (Not activated due to the error, SU-25T works perfect) - Black Shark 2 module for DCS World (Not working, game crashes) Let me know what I need to uninstall and what can be left alone. I appreciate all your help.
  9. Hey C0ff. I double checked and the module is indeed KA-50_bsupd_1.2.1.5970.exe, which is the upgrade version. Sorry for not being granular enough. Thanks for the remarks.
  10. Ok, this is what I tried: - Deactivated and uninstalled Black Shark 2. - Deleted all DCS / Black Shark 2 registry entries. - Left Black Shark 1 installed, since the problem is about black shark 2. - Installed Black Shark 2 update again WITHOUT activating it. - Installed DCS world and Black Shark 2 module. - Ran Multiplayer. - Activation Dialog showed up again. Mysteriously the serial number was still there (it tells me I missed some registry entries maybe??). - Anything I do with that dialog will lead me to the following message: "Unable to run the application due to integrity fault of the Activation Key. Re-enter a valid Activation Key or re-activate the application. If the error recurs, press "Error report" and send the report to product technical support." - Gave up. :cry_2: - Playing Battlefield 3 now. I would think twice about keeping that [sOLVED] on the subject line.
  11. This is exactly what I did: I uninstalled and erased all DCS products on my computer: The I proceed with the following steps: Installed and activated Black Shark 1: success! Installed Black Shark 2 upgrade: Success! Tested Black Shark 2, no need to activate: Success! Installed DCS World 1.2.1: Success! Installed the BS2 module, filename: KA-50_1.2.1.5970.exe: Success! Ran the software and started a single player mission with BS2: Activation dialog showed up. Try to activate the module: Activation Failed!! Error: Invalid Hardware Code. Make sure the Serial Number used is valid for the product you are trying to activate, generate a new Hardware Code and try again. and now I'm getting another error: Unable to run the application due to integrity fault of the Activation Key. Re-enter a valid Activation Key or re-activate the application. If the error recurs, press "Error report" and send the report to product technical support. I'm pretty sure I paid for all my products.
  12. Yes sir. BS2 was properly working before. When you install DCS world, you need to install the proper module depending on your product as you said. After installing the module, a new activation dialog comes again. If you try to activate the product, you get the same problems explained on this thread. If you click exit (twice) you are able to run World, and you are also able to see that BS2 indeed was unlocked. You can fly the SU-25T without problems. When you try to run a mission with the KA-50, the game crashes. If you run the standalone version of BS2, the game works perfectly. Sorry for the confusion, when I said activate DCS world, I was referring about activation of BS2 module. :)
  13. I got exactly the same problem. My BS1 and BS2 are activated, but I can't activate the DCS world. I get the same message and the same situation explained here. However, if I click exit twice, I can still fly the SU-25T. Lets hope they fix the problem as stated by 159th_Viper. Houd
  14. It's happening to me too. This situation is very frequent. It's on their side. We just have to wait until they either reboot the user validation server maybe, or fix the issue.
  15. Thanks ED for all these years of happiness after the fall of Jane's Simulations. I still have faith that you guys, one day, before I die (or my wife kills me, lol) will release DCS AH64-D Apache, just like in the good old Jane's days. Keep up the good work and count on me for the purchase. Houd.
  16. Same deal. Cannot pass after username and password.
  17. Yes, A dedicated box is always best. In my particular case, I had a very powerful physical server hosting dormant VM servers (I'm a system admin ;) ). I was going to borrow some resources to host another VM working as a DCS server. A way to balance the CPU priority on VMWare is to play with your shares on your VM. To do this: run your Vcenter and connect to your ESX box. Right click on the VM you want to adjust and select "edit settings", go to the resources tab and select High priority on your CPU shares. CPUs with higher shares will have more attention from the physical CPU. Let's hope DCS comes with a dedicated server...
  18. I'm not sure about the A-10 graphics, but yes, this would be ideal.
  19. Hey Tharos. Well, a good practice is to run your server with lowest details and resolution. So you focus on performance, since you are not using that computer for actually flying. Theory says that, if you do this, you are not asking too much to the VM graphics engine, it should work.
  20. best practice when running dedicated server Hello fellas, Houdini here. So, correct me if I'm wrong. Back in FC2/BS, and due to instability of using the hosting server to play, I decided (like the rest of the community) to host the server on one computer and fly on another computer. It worked perfect back then. With BS2, now you have to login to enter multiplayer mode. So the fact that you have a couple of computers with activated software doesn't matter now, since the account is the same and you can't login twice. I already have BS2 and I'm thinking about hosting missions on one of my computers while I fly on the other, like the old times. So this is my plan: I purchase DCS world on a different account and I Install it on my "server" while I use my regular account (BS2) to fly on my other computer. Is this possible? Can I host missions with only DCS world installed on one computer? I opened a ticket like 8 months ago complaining about zero functionality with virtual computers. I was planning to host a server on a VM and I couldn't. DCS stated they didn't provide functionality for VMs. Then I took the opportunity and told them to start thinking about a dedicated server. I guess they are working on it now. Good. Thanks DCS!. Is it too much to ask that you make it VM friendly? Thanks in advance! Thanks for your answers, guys. Houd. P.S. I still see the day when "DCS Longbow Apache" populates all the flightsimmer's computers, and we all rejoice. :smilewink:. P.S.2 A special "hello" to Master Panzertard. Thanks for your hard work with servman, dude! My Rig: - Intel Core i7-2600K CPU 3.40 GHz Sandy Bridge. Thermaltake FRIO CPU cooling system. 16 Gb. DDR3 Corsair Vengeance RAM memory. NVIDIA GForce GTX 580. 1.5 Gb DDR5 Video Card. Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi 7.1 Dolby Surround Audio Card and Creative 7.1 speakers system. 1 Tb primary HD and 500 Gb backup HD. Antec Dark Fleet DF-85 Case. Cooler Master 850W power supply. U-Verse 18 Mbps Internet Fiber. CH Products Fighterstick USB joystick.
