  1. Yes, they are not even close,, but I just can't complain... Yet,, give them time... my ears still ring from them IRL. No to be snarky, but they are like a vacuum cleaner with a plugged hose now...

    In the USAF (1970's to 1980's) we had Phantom tail numbers from 1964 to 1980. The last one was the F-4F, and the F-16 was on the way in to replace the F-4's. In updates and addons were many for each model change. The E probably had most changes. The F was like a finishing touch on the last hurrah for the USAF version. We had a mix of Phantoms, F-15's F-16's, A-10's, not to mention All of Nato (you name it from the 1950's aircraft to, MAC, TAC, Tankers, AWAC's, Not many Navy, but once in a while some. All Nations in Nato's aircraft ) at my Nato base in Europe with just about everything there, not all together, but constantly in and out. Only thing not in and out were the heavy Bomber like the B52's as the facilities could never handle that aircraft. We had Iceland also send in us aircraft. We also handled the Middle East missions. I did one tour with SAC, Before Tac. We also had Army, including Aircraft, Helo's, Tanks, Sam's, and the list goes on and on. Once a year we had some WWII birds perform. Base was Always exercising, constantly. Same with SCA, was always on drills.

    At the Air Museum in Tillamook Oregon they had a perfect Mig-17 I was checking out in the hanger not long ago. I was told they moved it to another location a couple years back... it is really a great looking plane.. I didn't get to see it fly though... it is frakkin huge...
  4. I really like this thread and the guides, links to all etc... but would like the addition of what actually needs to be loaded onto the aircraft so the components work properly. Often, tutorials, and guides show how to flip some switches, but not which pos are needed to run systems. It does get confusing and after spending hours still unsure what is needed... IMHO
  5. A Quick Thanx, as VR has been working pretty good for me for a while now. Those that make contributions hear lots of complaints about things... anything wrong is my fault,, I do need a newer better video card, but even with what I have seems to be working pretty good... That's it,, anyone else want to say thanx to those who helped make this possible... ? Ram

  6. some Aim-9's use Electronic cooling, and it is this model like with IR, the detector has a die smack in the middle with the detectors for the eye (head) around that die. If analog, you get that blind spot, but if software is involved they *intraplate* (can't think of the word I need right now, like an algorithm) and selects programmed lines off the detector to make a final lock and process further. The die and detector looks like a hybrid microelectronics chip with substrate and dies with bonded wires, but like photovoltaic, but detect light and process digital-analog. Again some with one dire, and right in the middle. This was a few decades back.
  7. Mavericks fire very slow,, I try so hard to be extremely stable, everything set, and it takes forever to release the Mavs ! In the Youtube videos those that made some very good videos, the Mavs just fire fast and smooth..... IMHO After Thoughts: I am wondering,, I am in VR, and while my system is very good, my Video card is crappy Nvidia 2080ti. Maybe it causes the slowdown, even though the FPS is real bad.. (around 4-60 fps).. other than that,, they just don't fire without long waits... Anyone else??

  9. it would not accept any number tried them all, I have the charts with freqs too, but that didn't matter it waw red no matter what... BTW, I did make more missions before so I had other options
  10. 'cannot save mission in editor wrong radio frequency' F4-E Multiplayer. Added F-4E in MP mission that was already created and working well with other F4-E's. I got cannot save mission in editor wrong radio frequency F4-E Multiplayer. The radio freq is in red and no matter what number, it refuses to add. I forgot how I ended up around this, I went to the F4-E's and tried to use their radio freq, and spent a while trying and finally something worked. Not sure, it just finally let me save and use it. I never had this issue in all these years before this.
  11. Jester asked me question about fuel while I was flying. I tried to answer, but i could not figure out how to shut him up. I tried answering him, but nothing I typed helped.it had two answers, yes we have fuel for mission, no we don't, the numbers one and didn't help, then he asked what should we do...could not close that window, wrecked the last few minutes of the long flight with his stupid window with questions opened. I brought up the manual with 'M' and no help at all... this little Easter Eggs are not good to spring on us while we are flying.. IMHO. Could not reach his EJECT handle!

  14. I was lucky enough to have a real pilot who flew Hellcats and the Panther teach me how to fly... he flew flight sims after he retired. he is gone now.. I am a Veteran myself, but didn't fly myself, but got to be in lots of aircraft on active duty. I met a guy who flew the WWII Corsairs in Korea during that war. Chatted quit a while. I met another vet who flew the P-40 Flying Tigers. He met and knew some of the most famous pilots. Got to chat a few hours. While I fly active campaigns in DCS and IL-2, more great flight sims are really good. Bot the Corsair and Hellcat has my interest in the WWII Theater. Right now I just have the P-51. In VR of course. Adding more birds is costing some $$$$. Still need a new Video card. Hmmm.. al this money into house... or computer..... wife says house... Ooops, forgot about a guy whole flew B24 missions to hit the oil fields at Ploesti Romania, all the way from North Africa ground level. He said the bomb doors had an issue and it was a very cold flight...

  16. I am having some issues with Laser and CCRP with Jtac. I tried the training mission with CCRP to see what I need to relearn. For the life of me, I cannot bombs to release in the training mission. UI also wish the training mission would let me fast forward so I don't have to repeat everything everytime I start the training missions. I setup two targets with a JTAC on each one, almost identical. Except for location and the radio code. Same Setup exactly in the setup of Jtac, same aircraft, same bombs. LGBU-12's hard to get to follow laser. LGBU-24's worked a bunch easier to follow the laser to target. The fall line thing must be my issue, I really hope it is. Will try soon again.

I went somewhere came home, and the damned MS software said it updated.. and guess, what, the Oculus had been messed with without my permission because the Meta screen was up and I always have to unplug the headset and plug it back in when Meta messes (((** with it!!))) with it... I have not checked to see if they screwed over my working fix...
  19. in the virtual reality section there are threads about the cause of this with some workarounds that may work. You might have to dig for the info.
  20. Thank you and I am sorry for one that gripes.. I am not a coder, but worked for a while in Aerospace and electronics engineering.. I didn't continue with the software side... many, many, moons ago.. but I do questions the software. I am curious if there is a way to write in the code so it is not so dependent on individual updates for peripheral devices. Even with the legal agreements with the 3rd parties. Or a separate patch category for devices. No answer needed, just some thoughts.
