so android 4.4 is the lowest version worth messing with for UFC? I keep seeing the Foreign junk tablets.. not sure if someone will get upset if I use the word describing from which country that makes junk... wondering what size people use? is 10 " doable? I think 8" would be too small... I owned ne many years ago... not worried about the programming script... and ports... -
Anyone recommend a good brand, cheaper but not junk Tablet (android) I should get to put the code in for UFC controls for different aircraft ??? probably F-16 and F-18. Probably 10" or larger (would 8 inch be enough?). Verson of Android at minimum? (example: v12 is latest) Thanx.

Nevermind, posting question in another place..

This is old topic, but my Warthog does this in IL-2 after flying DCS, without rebooting first. I was going to look this up along while back but just got around to looking up to see if others have this issue. It is very annoying and sucks,, it uses up a lot of the WWII aircraft ammo and at bad times.. No one sems to have this issue.
-
If Oculus had just installed all the proper software in one package and not made us go through all these hoops and crazy, all the hundreds of people who had issues wouldn't been so messed up.. should have been plug and play! That said... If I am around long enough to by another VR it will not be Oculus, meta.. ()(*&*(). I am looking to see which post is the one to check for solved..

ok, so like it said it is working, most of the threads I tried to read on just the oculus were mixed with all the other brands and were a huge mess to dig through. Last time I tried it had issues and refused to work with Steam. It finally worked, but also like I said I fly other combat sims and it had more issues. It is al sorted, although still some issues I have yet to find a solution for. it could be an issue with Nvidia, or maybe not. But am happy the big issues are gone, al is good now. I had to wait a while, because of health before I could fly some more and make a final comment. I was looking for help and found a rats nest of threads with all kinds of info that wasn't clear. There is no place to get definitive help, one has to search everywhere. a real pia. All good now. At least for the Oculus brand.

like I said all is working fine... Oculus rift s makes you use the oculus app, and it had us all using Steamvr when it came out, at that time there were no other options that worked. Now it works fine with Opencomposite. none of the instructions were clear on switching to the later opencomposite versions,, they mix all the headset brands in all the discussions, and also were not clear on using a version that worked with other flight sims. oNE VERSION DIDN'T WORK WITH ALL.
-
il-2 you have to use an older opencomposite (Link for that version, 57, is on the IL-2 forums) for it to work, I use that now in IL-2, works fine. so no more SteamVR for any flight sims!! Not for DCS or IL-2. I am free!! never buy another product tied to FaceBook or steam... well maybe a steam game... or maybe not
-
Now I remember the issue is IL-2 needs SteamVR (I coud not make it work), seems to be no way around that one.... After a lot more flying, I will say when DCS is good, a couple hours went by without issue Thursday with Composite. I have a lot more flying and aircraft to fly. I will never ever buy anything that needs SteamVR ever again. PIA.

I ran Opencompsite last night and it did well ! I know I tried the in the past but had bad problems.. maybe they6 fixed something in that time. Thanx.. I still have to try a few things in flight sims to see if it holds up. I need to find out if it still flips to desktop often (not ctd) and can fly il-2. I wish I had tried again sooner. Maybe a couple years went by since last try.

Oculus Rift S, which works fine (I have been flying with it for a long while), it's the being tied to SteamVR sucks,,, do I really need to say why SteamVR sucks...? I was hoping very much I could just find an alternate to SteamVR. I don't need to learn how to use it... if I wasn't clear. I do use the Mixed Reality with Steam to launch it, which works fine. But am still saddled with SteamVR.

basically all the b.s. (machinations of utilities to complete the install to make it work) VR utilities shift the workload from the CPU to the GPU with API's built into the Flight software.. Update. I should have said all the threads I had to wade through had all the different brands of headset, making it too much to sort through. The later Opencomposite versions and older for other sims fixed the issues for me. and all the threads in the forums for VR help, mix all the brands of headsets with all the utilities to give one headache when trying to find out how to escape SteamVR ! IMHO. (fixed with newer versions and different versions of OpenComposite, depending on which Flight Sim). was reading trying to find how to better use my Oculus and get the H.. away from SteamVR, and after going through many many, many thread... I give up... I am stuck still using SteamVR one way or the other if I want to continue with my setup.

I am also one who can understand what you are going through... I have a long history of fighting death and pain. I wish you and your family well. One really big thing that touched me, was that the VA hospital had the get well wishes from many children on cards given out to vets in the hospital, as I lie there for 6 months. I am the last of my parents and brothers. Best we can do is take care of unfinished business, be calm, and my pet peeve, I hope to hell they help with the damned pain.

The first HUD's on the F4-F models started appearing around 1980. They were not widely available yet. I was in Germany. Since it was the F model, I do not know if they could have retrofitted any version of the HUD. It had an eyepiece that attached to the helmet. I have no clue what goodies we will get. Get prepared to see green boxes and dots on green screens. Lots of fuel burned, and I hope they do give us the hooks for the cables, for fast landings and no brakes. Napalm, gattling gun in center fuel tank (not used often) cover. aim-7 and aim-9 standard loadout.

why would you launch anything a-g over mach in these aircraft? (btw, in the late 1980's I worked on the envronmental testing chambers for the LANTIRNS in Aerospace after leaving active Duty USAF). I also have my name in the Nitrogen compressors invention and development for the C-5. The company always owns the rights.
