  1. No expert, the post provides more detail than I can, but I would imagine the further away would be be more akin to your employment of the weapon, cos if you boresight on a truck headlight at 1nm, you would never shoot a Mav at that range unless your super good or in a right pickle and i think at that range youe would be more concentrating on other things. The distance does matter on the ground at a short distance due to the difference in location of the Mav on the wing pylon and the tgp on the cheek station. In the same way as if you stretch your arm out, and put your thumb on a reference point, then alternate open and closing your left and right eye. Im not sure the correct range but i guess the limit of the MAV would be a good start, may be an idea to set up a mission with the TV mast static ,i think this has lights on it, at set range or at least within the MAV WEZ. PG map east of Dubai is ideal as its flat as a witches tit. If memory serves wags video does it whilst in the air, which i guess would match exactly to the employment of the weapon, but for me in the I'm concentrating on other things while in the air, like looking like a cool M****** F***** in a F16......and not crashing. Good Luck
  2. Hi Mate there is a topic started already in the forum regarding the parallax error if you bore sight an airfield static, such as a vehicle, suggestion is to taxi to a point where you can boresight on a light source in the distance which would reduce this error.
  3. you mean the boresight - BSGT on the mdfd doesnt flash/highlight when pressed the corresponding mfd button? or the crosshairs not flashing/jiggleing?
  4. You may have already checked this but
  5. Quicker if you just save a copy of the .lua file for keyboard default and defualt joystick and replacing them after each update.
  6. Just as an aside to this, i have gotten into the habit of editing the default stick and keyboard controls .lua to change the manual trim wheel values from 0.3 to 0.1, its around the line 800, then mapping my actual stick trim hat on to the trim wheel rather the cockpit stick, this gives you much finer control of the trim as you surfaces move less.
  7. All sorted thanks very much, apologies should have not posted as bug and put in general. Thanks Again
  8. Hi Boffins, I am experiencing a potential bug, when using Mark points and MSEL to make that mark point a steer point/SPI I am following the process of slewing the TGP to a target TMS FWD to Point track, selecting Mark point from ICP to add a mark point. With TGP indicated as the sensor of interest to create the mark point TMS FWD to enter the details into the CNI. Then press MSEL to make the mark point a steer point and therefore Sensor Point of Interest, its in doing this the TGP cross hairs jump of the target. I created a Mission of the Georgia Map to provide track information comprising a static vehicles only, i have attempted to keep the track as short as possible, but please forgive the head tracking. I have checked all other forum post and cannot see the issue being raised before. I use an un modded version of DCS open beta, with only SRS and Kneeboard Builder profile for the F16 running. Hope this helps Thanks very much Eddie f16MarkpointMSELBug.trk
  9. Yes, essentially you have default (airfield maps etc) and custom kneeboards. You create a custom one then import the images either downloaded or created, and build the kneeboard. To the side of the window is a .miz button, where you link that custom kneeboard to a mission. So for example you create an F18 mission with multiple targets called Operation Teabag. You create a custom kneeboard group with he images with like an intel packet images called Teabag, and add the group the builder and you create custom board build it then link it to where ever you save your missions, ie Users/Saved Games/Teabag.miz Once the mission is done you can remove that group from the kneeboard. Once you're happy you open the builder prior to launching the came and a icon appears in your system tray, go to that -> profiles -> f18 A campaign being a series of missions you do the same process go to the where the campaign is saved ie DCS/Mods/Aircraft/Campaign/ and select all the missions in that folder. and it links them. The main thing is you then go into the Options -> kneeboard profile -> modify you can then create a profile for all aircraft or specific ones, in this you set the location and size of the kneeboard. so then you can set it to suit your VR i don't use VR, so don't know how it works. but its good for different airframes depending on cockpit ie you may not want he kneeboard in the bottom right of the huey as it will obscure the chin bubble. As far as im aware you cannot create multiple profiles linked to knee boards so cant do a separate day night board Obviously then you map a joystick command in DCS setting to your hotas setup for kneeboard on/off and or toggle and prev/next page, so you can go though without taking the headset off. Again for what ever airframe your flying just get what other people have done, there are some real bangers like the ones below for the F18 and A10, and they come in night versions so they don't burn you retinas out, again you can have F18 day or night profile and switch between the two depending on the mission or link them to the day night missions as described above. Why waste time reinventing some thing that someone has done really really well, when that time can be spent learning the module and putting warheads on foreheads. https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/266375-fa-18c-kneeboard-suite-by-dimon/ https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/272492-a-10c-and-a-10c-ii-kneeboard-suite-by-dimon/ If you check the Kneeboard Builder Website there a few tutorial vids which may assist better than my loose understanding of kneeboards and the English written word. Hope this helps
  10. Depending on you module there's ones already available in the user files and some are exceptional quality,, but if you are re inventing the wheel use them as templates, if you are looking to make set Kneeboard for a certain module, Kneeboard builder is your best bet, You have the default kneeboard pages such as airfield diagrams, and you can add a profile with specific pages for the module you are using which are activated in the system try while in game. I think you can set the whole manual as kneeboard pages too. The other benefit with kneeboard builder is that in you can set the location, size and colour of certain elements( map markings) of the kneeboard page again for a certain module depending on your overall screen resolution say if you using multi monitors etc. This may be worth while in VR too. For some reason I'm having issues with KB with the apache, so if anyone has had any joy in this regard then please let me know. https://dcskneeboardbuilder.com/ Hope this helps
  11. Tried this, full lap of Batumi, only using collective to initially get in the air and land, Honest best drill Ive done so far, using transitional lift or ground effect only to stay aloft, and soley concentrating on yaw and cyclic. Thanks loads for this, try it it works
  12. I've been having similar issues, but from what can gather its all to do with your Nose to Tail Trim which differs from the direction the aircraft is flying. Prior to firing ensure the acceleration line from the centre cross is vertical, which also means you have to input on yaw, this generally relates to the slip ball not within its brackets. What exacerbates the issue further is if you in the Pilot seat as the rocket bracket is directly related to the position of the Pilots IHADS cross and its position in relation to the nose to tail axis. So if you get George to Select a target for you via the slave/unslave menu, do you set the CPG as the sight instead of TADS, so the Pilots rocket bracket relates to that and not the Pilots IHADS?
  13. Hi Boffins Had exactly the same issue, and was pulling what little hair I had left out, will try it out tonight. Cheers
  14. Hi Probably lost all hope on a responce, but as the Lilliput's were out of my price range, i ended up getting 2 EYOYO 8 inch non touch screens to mount my MFD bezels on work fin in on HDMI
