  1. You're welcome, SuperKermit. Another great content creator for DCS is Mike Solyom, with his YouTube channel "The Ops Center". He illustrates aerial warfare, mostly from the USAF point of view. He's covering BVR combat right in these weeks. The Ops Center By Mike Solyom - YouTube
  2. How about you have a look at what Karon writes? He's not a professional, but he wrote a lot of great articles for the F-14 from the RIO point of view, many of them about interception and BVR combat, all of them based on RL material, conversations with SMEs and a healthy dose of guesswork! He has a new section about the F-4 and will keep writing about it. https://flyandwire.com/the-f-4e-weapon-systems-officer/
  3. New subversion just out: https://github.com/BAAS-Dynamic/DCS-SK60-Mod/releases/tag/v1.2.1 I was looking for a way to hide the pilot body and found it. The update provides a fix for the cockpit glass texture issue, the ability to toggle pilot model on/off, a gunsight gyro and a fix for the radio display. Thank you to the creator for this very nice mod and @Rudel_chw for the missions, finally I have a free mod to train some DCS-wannabe-pilot friends without forcing them to spend money in a module (yet! )
  4. Thank you, Hornet, I hope it'll get fixed soon.
  5. Hey there! Sorry for asking something that's surely been answered a lot of times, but.. it's this aircraft flyable from both seats? Can it be used for training of new pilots?
  6. I have the vinyls, too, and no shipment (Italy).
  7. Honestly, guys, just take it easy, don't think about it, focus on real life and your jobs/studies and it'll be here before you even notice how much time as passed. In any case... We have the video series, that started on February 16th: for comparison, the first F-14 featurette video was released Decembre 24th 2018 and the module was out March 13th, 2019, approximately 3 months later. So, the Phantom could get out in late spring, but I do believe that this time around HB is going to be faster than with the Tomcat (they're more experienced and have new software tools to use); while I'm not ruling out March, yet, I think we'll fly Spooks in April. EDIT: By the way, there's another thing to consider, that make me optimist about the release date. The F-14 manual was online February 10th, 2019, about a month before release. So, the Phantom could really be just a very few weeks from release (F-4 manual was released January 26th, 2024).
  8. Hey @6S.Duke! I was binding the buttons of my new throttle system and I ran into a bug with the engine starter binding: apparently there are "different action with identical descriptions". I'm attaching a screenshot. You can't bind a physical button to the first entry, and if you bind it to the second, it doesn't work. Hoping that ED will make a hotfix to last patch, could you please fix this bus ASAP? Thank you!
  9. Copy that, thank you! I'll keep my head up!
  10. Juliane's, did they notify you that the pack was shipping, or it just came unannounced?
  11. Sorry Aviators, besides telling you what I already said in the post above, I can't help you with your question, my previous throttle was a TM TWCS.
  12. I switched them with the ones you found in the package. The landing gear one had a three position detent and I put in the two position detent, since the landing gear in basically all DCS modules is just a two position lever. I thought about removing them and making axes out of the levers, but then I decided it was better to have both work as buttons.
  13. Thank you Alpine, I hope you won't have to wait much. Meanwhile, I set up the SEM-V with the STECS. As help for others who will do what I did (buying a new module after having the setup the STECS), I'm leaving here a quick description of my experience. Since I modified the flaps and landing gear lever (changing the internal detent), I had to go through the setup procedure described in the video I linked above, and I ended up having to reset the whole system (STECS standard + SEM-V); I'm not sure if it was because it was the only way, or only because I couldn't find a better way, but after setting up the SEM-V via physical buttons, to set it up in the VKB software, I had to reset the STECS + SEM-V system to default and then set the whole system up again. It was a bit of a pain having to do it all over again, but thankfully the procedure is pretty straightforward after you did it the first time, so it only took time. I hope this can help others, if they're gonna be in need. EDIT: I forgot to say, using the STECS Standard with a frontal SEM-V is a blast, especially in VR, now I have basically all the relevant controls at my fingertip, it's really great and VKB products are great pieces of machinery, I love how precise, customizable they are, and how you can mantain them in time (even though you have to learn how, if you're a total noob with hardware like I am!)
  14. Thank you for your help, @AlpineGTA! Interesting ideas, let us know how they work for you.
  15. Hey @AlpineGTA, I got my SEM-V and MFH today, I want a set up like the one you showed us in page 1. Did you have to configure the SEM-V as shown in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZQXwQl_IHA or, beside changing the detents on the flap and gear levers, you just have to plug the module to the STECS and everything will be auto configured?
  16. IT'S STARTING!!! EDIT: pensavo che fosse il primo video di preview del modulo, prima del rilascio, invece sono solo speculazioni sulle novità che vengono introdotte, dopo la pubblicazione del manuale.
  17. What Gunfreak said, with one caveat: Jester is NOT a pilot, just a WSO. At least if he's implemented like in the F-14. EDIT: and, of course, assuming HB is not going to simulate the fact that initially USAF wanted pilots as WSOs.
  18. Thank you very much, Kirk, those documents are real gold for us enthusiasts!
  19. Eh, sembrerebbe... Quanto tempo prima del rilascio venne pubblicato il manuale dell'F-14? O venne pubblicato solo al rilascio?
  20. Hey @AlpineGTA, thank you for your input and the pictures, I think you did something similar to what Jabbers did on his video review . I deleted the second detent CRV and I'm fine tuning the first one's to achieve the same result. I just hope it'll work for all the modules, because if I have to tune the axis for every single airplane every time I want to switch from one to another, it's going to be a real PITA. I'm wondering, anyway, why my solution didn't work as I intended... maybe someone from VKB can answer this? @fallout9?
