Hi guys! So I've tried some fun in foggy, autumn environment, but unfortunatelly I didn't manage to start Mustang up. Cranking the engine ended up in flames. Could this be because of too dense, or wet air, which I have set in mission editor? Attached are mission and track files for your entertainment and hopefully some clues for me ;) Thanks in advance! boom.trk ToughConditions-P-51.miz

Using advices above I was able to reach about 41200 ft. Both radiators were fully open and if temperature reached above 80 deg. I dropped down rpm, leveled flight and waited for engine to cool down ;) It took me over an hour to take off, climb and land :D I like it!

35000 ft in navigation mission with blower set to low, but tried just a minute ago in "cold start vaziani" and with blower set to auto I managed to reach about 23000 and after that engine died (35" MP and 2500 RPM, temperature kept between 60 and 80 °C).

Need a little help with this one. Any hints on minus 30 degrees Celsius engine startup are much appreciated. I've burned my starter like three times this evening, and ran out of ideas. According to manual I prime the engine for about a minute before cranking up, and even during that. If nothing happens after about 20 seconds of turning, I let the starter to cool down, but unfortunately it works for about 2-3 times, and after that starter dies. I don't know if I should dilute oil before every attempt. Thanks in advance ;)

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
ophiuchus replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I'd vote for Hi-Fi MiG-29 or Su-27 :] And from list above? No idea ;) -
Looks like some bug related to replaying tracks :D Seen that like yesterday, after I wanted to se my mustang being shot down by AAA. Instead wing torn off by canon, I saw me, crashing into the hillside just as if I let go of the stick.

To me it shows engine failure after about 3 minutes of flight. Overheat? I had the same thing few weeks before, and since then I don't use near max manifold pressure or RPM. And even if, I don't keep it for more than few seconds. And always keep eye on temperature gauge, to counter any needle move beyond green zone ;)

I slightly misunderstood ALDEGA's post about some options being turned on and off. (let's say.. language barrier ;)) Anyway, I'm happy to have helped.
-
Oh... I have both these options set to off in menu, at least that's what I see in relevant bookmark. So reviewing this file that I've attached said something different? I didn't change anything in assists settings prior to posting this.

As requested: optionsData.zip

Performed clean install and options are as they were before - still available.

I must say, I'm a bit disappointed with some models. For example engine fans of A10A are just still textures, while the C version has nice, dynamic animated fans. SU27, 33 and all MiGs are too "square". I hope the final release will contain more "DCSish" models ;)

Setting laucher.exe to windows 7 compatibility and running it as administrator helped on my machine, at least in P-51 missions.

Random failure? My guns jammed my engine?

Thanks Viamanaman, some useful tips for noob like me ;). And shame on me, I didn't read the manual thoroughly enough. -

My engine just died in this guided tour mission, while descending from 30000 ft to 25000 ft. And I did my best to keep needles within green range of gauges. Even used radiator flaps to prevent oil from overheat. -
tusler, I've just checked your track, and it seems you perform touchdown with way too much speed. 150 mph is too fast as for my (little) experience with DCS. I use only cyborg evo, and didn't change anything with curves, but landing usualy works fine everytime for me. Touch down at 90mph and you won't experience any high bounces ;)

It seems there is none. I figured out, that crash occurs while exiting "regular" missions and not the training ones. So 1.2.1 version of mission summary generator looks like source of the problem to me.
-
Since I can't find any thread dedicated to bug reporting, I'll post my just here. Sim keeps crashing everytime I try to exit almost any mission, and this prevents me from progressing in any campaign. Here's part of one of logs created after such crash: 00215.995 ALERT DXRENDERER: Error: Can't find precompiled shader for effect materialfactory/materialbase.hlsl:SPARKBURST_MATERIAL=1:. This is bug! Please report it! 00260.608 WARNING LOG: 3 duplicate message(s) skipped. 00260.608 ERROR EFFECTS: parameter not registered reloadShader The rest is attached to this post. Let's hope anyone from the Dev Team sometimes checkes this part of forum ;) DCS-20121013-143420.zip DxDiag.txt 2012-10-13_Logs.zip

Unfortunatelly AltTab trick didn't work in my case ;) Oh well ;d We wait.

It disappears on my computer sometimes as well, but I just right-click and do some random mouse moves around the cockpit. This usually brings mouse pointer back.

I just downloaded the 6288 update, and tried to play P-51 challenge. First one went fine, but I crashed during take off. Well, I thought, since the summary screen has appeared, there's nothing to worry about, let's try again... So I tried, and performed succesfull takeoff. But at escaping to menu, after progress bar reached 95%, guess what happened? ;)

Same here ;) Win 8 Customer Prev. Tried to do clean reinstall of DCS, intalling VC++ supplied with it didn't help as well. Setting disable aero interface to off did the job for one mission, and after that everything returned to previous state. Well, I guess some patch will be released shortly. There's not much time left to WIN8 official release ;)
