  1. I agree. In the current position It is straining my neck to get the pipper on target in level flight. Edit: For now i have changed the vertical angle in the default view to -7.5 degrees. This puts the designator crosshair at the bottom of the sight glass and still keeps the MIP, map and - on an ultra wide monitor at least - mirrors visible in the forward view.
  2. Okay, waiting patiently then while enjoying everything else. Thank you for letting me know.
  3. I just installed the app and script and did a few test flights with the Harrier and M2000C. All the panels seems to work as advertised (and i love it!) apart from the lcd's on the M2000 INS. The buttons and lights have no issues, and it communicates both ways, it's just the displays that stay empty. I have tried updating/reinstalling the script as suggested in a similar case a few pages back, but that had no effect. Is there anything else i can do? Thank you for your hard work.
  4. I've been enjoying Liberation for a few days now and i must say it's a game changer for sure. Thanks for the hard work to all involved. Playing as tactical commander I have been observing some AI behaviour on the generated missions that stood out to me. I don't know if this is just DCS shenanigans or if it is mission related so i'll post it here instead of reporting an issue. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can shed a light on this. It might even just be me and work as intended? Here is what i noticed so far: - Harriers on Pinpoint Strike are too heavy to take off from the Tarawa with the default loadout and crash into the sea. - F/A-18's on SEAD ripple all their HARMs at a single target, then bravely run away. - Aircraft on Pinpoint Strike missions drop only one piece of ordnance per run, having to make several passes over the target, wich often gets them killed, or they RTB with most their bombs still on the racks because bingo. - SA342M fires 2 HOT missiles per target, wasting half their loadout. I know there are options to control weapon usage in the mission editor, but that might not work with the way the missions are generated? Anyway, if some of these things can be adressed it would make for an even better experience (though I admit that is completely subjective). Especially those AV8's are a bit of a single use asset at the moment.
  5. Hey, I had a quick look at the overhauled cockpit and exterior lighting (AS342L) tonight and I just wanted to drop a thank you here for the continued support despite your other resposibilities. Everything looks nice inside and out and readability in the cockpit has improved dramatically. And of course having a functional search/landing light again is a big plus. Can't wait to take her out and find me some forward units to direct some arty on this weekend!
  6. As much as i would love a flyable MH-60S or older variant, the carrier module will release years before it anyway. Right now I just want to know what systems will be in place to accomodate skid and wheeled helicopter operations in the first place.
  7. I would like to know what we can expect in terms of helicopter operations for this next big thing.
  8. And thank you for sticking with it and keeping us posted! The fact that you also have a life and family to support while doing this is easily overlooked unfortunately. I can only begin to imagine some of your frustrations on this journey. Let's hope for a bright future ahead. I will order as soon as I can. Untill that time, accept my utmost respect.
  9. Hey Hazzer, I use an FFB2 (grey trigger version) but I have no problems with it other than that it's kind of hit and miss when plugging it into USB3 ports. But when that acts up it doesn't get recognised at all by the pc. I don't have a lot of knowledge when it comes to drivers, but i can at least show you what i see at my end so you can compare: Since the Sidewinder should be recognised by windows itself, could it be that something got overridden in the drivers or settings? Did you install any usb related drivers etc. that may have started this behaviour? Do you have any new peripherals that might be interfering somehow? Did you modify your stick in any way? (Shouldn't have to be a problem, mine got married with an old thrustmaster X-Fighter grip.) I'm sorry i can't be of more specific help. What i can suggest you do is try plugging it into another pc if you haven't already. At least then you can get an idea if the problem lies with your pc or the stick.
  10. I called it many pages ago and i'm sticking with it: AS532 Cougar or H125M as it is known today. UL/AL or SC, i'll take any and all.
  11. No, both grips have the same amount of buttons. It's a relative simple replacement/soldering job once you know what's what. Nopileus did a nice write-up of his conversion some years ago: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=107601&highlight=x-fighter+grip (I see the thread lost some info, but the essential pictures are still up) A word of caution though: you may want to consider adding a toggle switch for turning on/off force feedback as obviously you lose the sensor in the sidewinder grip. I didn't so it's always on now. While this works fine in DCS, other titles may wreck your stick depending on their behaviour. :joystick:
  12. ms ffb2 with an X-fighter grip and some pvc. Mounted backwards for more legroom.
  13. i have this one: http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/farmside.html Not perfect, but has a scroll wheel on the side. Joystick has 2x3 axis wich you can toggle between with the grey button on the top. So you can use it for both radar and missile if you like.
  14. "Look honey, i got this great deal on a T-shirt and it even comes with a free plane for DCS". ... "What, how much did it cost?" ... "Still less than that dress you only wore once." ... "Yeah, but you know, unlike that dress, Viggen never goes out of style." :smilewink:
  15. What a great initiative! I would like to win this pack so my sons (5 and 7) can fly with and/or against me! You know, I'd love to build them a Kid-Pit. :pilotfly:
  16. My money is on the as532 al or sc, but looking at the development of the bölkow so far, i'd say there is a fair chance on getting all possible variants.
  17. Just finished watching and left a thank you in the 132nd multiplayer thread because I couldn't see it posted over here yet. Anyway, I really enjoyed the video. I like the way you guys operate, and hope to see more in the future! Thanks, Derk
  18. Hey guys, Just wanted to pop in and tell you I really enjoyed the new video! Did the 259th Auxiliary replace the huskies to allow for more airframes/tasks? I hope to see more of your operations in the future. All the best, Derk
  19. I always enjoy watching the 132nd do their thing. You guys really take flight simulation to a higher level. Thanks for sharing!
  20. Thank you all for the continuous hard work! I'll be trucking around in the Huey for sure. Say, if i complete a CSAR assignment, does the pilot whos former body i rescue get that life back?
  21. Thank you Olli, I am looking forward to the day i can start enjoying the models and systems up close. I had the chance to sit in a RNLAF 105 once, best pizza i ever had!
  22. Hey guys, Great work on the hkp9, Sweden has a very interesting military and especially the helicopters are all great, they chose all the cool ones imho! I was wondering if the pedestal differs from the PAH version too. Perhaps through different radios or equipment or the layout in general? hkp9 cockpit images seem hard to find.
  23. Congratulations to the winners and once again thank you for the giveaway!
  24. Here you go: http://www.476vfightergroup.com/content.php?295-476th-Podcast-Episode-10
