Looks awesomo - are we stil OK to use the SH-70B Seahawk Folded mod?
-
Not sure if this helps anyone but messing with my monitors (Odyssey G9) Black Equalizer settings, down form 10 to 5 looks to have fixed the issue I was having where the whole screen would change in brightness which I though was a DCS adpative brightness issue, therefore anyone else suffering from this have a look at your monitor to see if it can be 'dailed' out
-
Has anyone noticed if this adaptive brightness effect has become worse of late, looking around with TrackIR at sunset results with the screens brightness levels jumping all over the place, appreciate this effect works well in some situations but I find myself being distracted by it more and more – surely the inclusion of a slider in the game options would be the best way forward?

Quick question please, are people generally using the preset K (0x0000000B) over J?
-
Has something changed recently either with DCS or Nvidia, I had DLSS working on preset J previously but now it seems to be stuck on C, anyone else having issues?
Edit: Scratch that, I got it working again - I think you need to double check all is working OK after a Nvidia driver update

TBH I'm still amazed we got an update, I think it's been over 5 years since the Yak was shown any love - such a shame as this module has be a low hanging fruit compared to others.

Resizing the window worked well thanks @Beldin, I've removed all other mods from the tech folder and reloaded both tariq.edm and badur.edm textures and compared the 2, I note that the Tariq model doesn;t list ciws_turret or ciws_base, is that my problem do you think?

Dr Zaius! To find out exactly which textures it is you should load the Type21_Badur.edm in the MV. The missing texture will then be displayed in the textures tab.
Thanks for the suggestion @Urbi, I've loaded the model Tariq model but not of the textures are loading for any of the units, I tried the mount textures option but that didn't seem to work, neither did the livery options - I'm afraid I'm a bit of a n00b using the MV

Sorry to be a pain @Oban, if it's just me having the issue then please don't waste too much of your time on it - btw i absolutely love the mod, really nice attention to detail.

Its unlikely to be as conflict with another Mod - your image shows a "missing texture" texture (that weird camo looking skin). That tells me that the texture the mod is looking for isnt in your mod texture folder, or anywhere else in the game, if it was it would show up in game, or show some other distorted texture that didnt fit that weapon.
The textures you should have in your main texture folder are:
CIWS_base.dds and CIWS_turret.dds - are they missing perhaps or do they look okay ?
I'm assuming you have not changed anything in any of the lua's ? If you have what did you do ?
I would suggest downloading the mod again and replace the texture files you have now with the one you download. Perhaps you only got a partial dowload the first time, or it was corrupted in some way. Those 2 textures are only called for by the Pakistani ships, they dont appear on the UK ships, the UK ships didnt have CIWS.
Thanks for your input @crazyeddie, I did as you suggested and re-downloaded the mod but the Tariq version of the ship is still missing her CIWS, both the file .dds files also look to be present, odd that the Badur CIWS works fine but not the Tariq
-
So is the problem I'm having with missing textures on the CIWS likely a conflict with one the other mods I use? I don't understand how LUA's work exactly but I did check to see if anything was incorrectly named etc.

What news on the DTC please ED? I’ve just picked the Apache up again and have been reading through the manual, there’s a bunch of references made about the DTC but having looked for it that functionality doesn’t exist, is it being worked on and if so how many more years will it take?
Also is there a campaign planned / being worked on?
Thanks

So what can people recommend for the smoothest TrackIR experience possible?
iirc the device runs at 60mhz so anything close to / or multibles of that number helps with things which is why I cap my FPS to 120, I also have the Smooth setting under motion control on the TrackIR UI set to 50, is there anything I can try?

only in regards to not having the need for a device stuck to your head*. The tracking itself is not better. Or smoother.
(Which would be a HUGE incentive for me to use it. Unfortunately it is sub par to TrackIR in every other regard. For context - I'm currently actively using both. Albeit Tobii only for MSFS. For DCS I prefer TrackIR)
That stinks, I doubt webcams are any smoother either
-
Working as intended, thank you for your support, ticket closed
-
So is that it now for full screen, all we have is a boarderlees window?
If so whats the best option for a smooth head tracker inputs, I currently use TrackIR5 and wonder if a something like the Tobii eyetracker would be a better experience.

What a slap in the face, just when PR levels are at an all time low with the Razbam debacle we have more content taken away from us - this used to be my favourite sim, what happened to you ED?

I managed to work around this issue. Obviously can't guarantee this will work for anybody else, but here's what I did:
1) Load into the full game from the launcher, ignore and cancel the pop-up for Flaming Cliffs 3 that will start the loop
2) Go to module manager, then go to the "installed" tab
3) From the installed tab, check the box next to all FC3 items (F-15C for DCS World, MIG-29 for DCS World, etc) and select "delete"
Once you reload and get back into the full game (not the new launcher but the full game), the pop-up * should * now list the individual jets in addition to the Flaming Cliffs 3 item that originally started the loop. Remove the check on the FC3 pack, add the check to all the individual jets then click ok. Game should exit and kickoff the download. Once that was done and the game reloaded, all my FC3 modules were accessible. I still get the original "Flaming Cliffs 3" pop-up that starts the previous loop when I load into the game, but it appears this can now be safely ignored.
Do we only delete legacy FC3 aircraft for this to work or the 3 new ones (F-86, F-5 & MiG15) as well?

Patch Version: 2.9.6.57650
Severity: PlayableWhile other FC planes have separate entries now in the Special menu, the J-11 is currently missing and you can't swap between custom cockpit textures as a result.
I think the cockpit is tied in / shared with the SU-27, try changing that a to see if it works

Hi. After I read your post, immediately checked my Saved Games/Liveries folder, but all cockpit mods are still there.
I have no idea why you've encountered with this issue.
Thanks for checking, how odd that mine are no longer there - if everything is working as it should then I better get d-loading!

I had a bunch of @DevrimEnglish cockpits for the Russian aircraft in flaming cliffs and following the new update they look to have been removed from my Saved Games / DCS / Liveries folder.
I didn't think game updates were able to change this file so can anyone confirm why this has happened, perhapos the cockpits with the recent release arer newer versions that are incompatible with the older files?
I also note that the Flaming Cliffs keeps wanting to install iteself despite owning the old version plus all the new aircraft receantly added, not sure what that is all about.

Will AAR ever become an option, both give and receive?

I've seen several posts requesting the KC-130 and wonder if our version of the Herc will ever include the capability to take on fuel mid-flight? The idea of 2 large aircraft coming together for a AAR really excites me and think this would make an awesome addition.
