  1. I will be getting this grip, but bring on the AH-64 Prime grip also.
  2. Waiting for Virpil or VKB. That's their next stop most likely. Not fond of the plywood base and exposed gears and belts.
  3. I'm wondering if they are not only working on the collective, but some sort of native counter balancing solution for it, which the counter balancing has been a common complaint. Or perhaps a new collective base version altogether? I'm 100% speculating here.
  4. When I execute the "release" version aka v2.32 of "SimShakerSoundModule.exe", the process is resident in the Windows Task Manager, but the system tray icon doesn't appear, so I can't bring up the UI for the SimShaker Sound Module to select the sound card and test effects, etc. Any idea what the culprit may be?
  5. I'm more curious about the Gunfighter IV since there has not been prior information on it.
  6. May want to wait. Gunfighter IV inbound. News later this week and TECS details as well.
  7. I like the MFG's the best from an all around standpoint. I have the MFG for almost a decade now and still no mechanical or electrical issues. Also, lots of replacement parts available on their site including the key circuit board and they don't stop production for awhile or abandon a model entirely for an entirely different design.
  8. Have you actually used it and if so, is it making use of all of the telemetry in DCS and IL2? It seems more race sim focused based on the software options for the respective genres, so was curious.
  9. Were you using Next Level Racing's software that's in its infant stages or SimShaker for Aviators and SimShaker for Wings, which are far more tuned for flight sims? I can certainly understand the comfort issue though.
  10. The VKB F-14 doesn't have a locking mechanism for the twist, so it doesn't move? Granted, I prefer it not have a twist option in the first place, but I am curious.
  11. Before the stuff hit the fan from the holidays, I was able to get Virpil gear in the US in about 7 to 10 days from the time of ordering. Hopefully they can get back to that soon.
  12. It looks like The Noobifier in his latest video on YouTube has his hands on one for an upcoming review. It was a very subtle glimpse of it, but clearly was not the current CM2 base. And the video is a real chopper pilot testing out DCS and using it, but making no mention of it being the new base.
  13. I wonder if they found a way to do a combo dry clutch and force sensing base where you can use one or the other. And since they were exclusively showing the F-16, I wonder if they are finally going to do an F-16 grip? I'm looking forward to this as I haven't had a new VirPil creation since control panel 3. And by the time this releases, I might be buying it from their U.S. store. Finally, teasers are evil.
  14. I have the plus. I knew going in that the throttle aspect is largely worthless given its limited use, but I liked the look of it. I have been using the left Alpha grip on it the whole time. Not sure why some seem to have the issue and others don't and I certainly wouldn't tolerate sticktion.
  15. I wonder if removing the two tension screws and then putting a rubber round washer (or o-ring) on them and put them back on and tightening to the desired resistance would keep the collective in place? I haven't had the not staying in place issue and have and used the collective frequently since it's debut, so just curious.
  16. It's just a standard flightstick grip classification like their F-14 grip, so it won't show up as a collective grip, just a regular flightstick grip as linked below: https://virpil-controls.eu/shop/flightsticks/grips.html
  17. Obviously these are nothing more than opinions/preferences, but for me, the 200 on the VKB Gunfighter 3 is closer to the throw of a Huey cyclic than a jet, so I like the 100 for jets and 200 for helos, which is also why I went with 2 Gunfighter 3s, so I could also utilize the clutch far more with one over the other, without having to adjust them each time.
  18. Direct quote from VKB below in bold. So I guess the real base will have less buttons "due to secrecy"? Devkits of these types of peripherals rarely stray from their exterior design as we are not talking game consoles here. That's OK, you'll eventually figure it out. Or not. "TL/DR: Picture is not a 3d model but a physical photo of a devkit; Real base will be different from the picture due to secrecy;" You were stating the below as fact, so how is that just stating an opinion?: "Winwing has far more buttons on the base too."
  19. *sigh* I see you are one of those people. We know exactly how many buttons are on the Orion throttle handles. Hell, even the VKB MCG Ultimate Grip has more hat switches than the Orion throttle handle and overall, more button presses also. Do you really think that the TECS throttle buttons alone are going to have less buttons on the handles than the VKB MCG Ultimate grip has? Do you really think they are just going to throw a few buttons on the TECS base? VKB has already proven the modular system on their grip and that technology won't be or need to be any different on the throttle. Even if they go bare bones on the number of slots, it will still have more buttons on the throttle as a whole due to the throttle handle alone. Oh well, you tried. Don't be so dense. Your constant use of LOL and LMAO shows you have the intelligence of an underdeveloped child.
  20. So you have seen the final production TECS base that no one else has? But let's roll with that false assumption for a bit; the TECS handle has far more buttons on the handles than the Orion does on its handles based on what VKB revealed in January, 2021 or thereabouts. I don't have a dog in this fight; I'm using a Virpil CM3 throttle, but will certainly give the TECS a try when it is finally revealed in the afterlife.
  21. I wonder if there are technical issues with the unique detent system. That would seem to be the most complex aspect of the throttle.
  22. I was expecting around $750 US. A swing and a miss on my guess. I applaud them though for sticking to their manufacturing guns though.

I definitely like the shorter lever on the CP2. It just has a more responsive feel. Plus, I was able to put the CP2 right behind the CM3 throttle with the shorter lever.

I received the shipping notification for Control Panel 3. DHL is currently showing Wednesday of next week; just before the Thanksgiving holiday. Perfect timing.
