  1. I was also thinking the same. Came across and old youtube video that talked about this one. Seems to still be online and fairly active.   3. So everyone can benefit; In Reply to Fragger's PM: Hi Mate, This was a fair while ago. I don't know if anything will have changed over the many updates released since I last looked at this. I sorted my cockpit issue: (the interior cockpit was too low so the exterior model obstructed my view). I edited: F:\Program Files (x86)\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit\Scripts\mainpanel_init.lua and changed "cockpit_local_point". cockpit_local_point = {4.500, 0.10, 0.0} Syntax: cockpit_local_point = {fwd/back, up/down, left/right} (Thanks to Assieboy for the syntax: http://www.en.wiki.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98921&page=17) My Mod was for an AH-64D so the numbers will differ from yours and will require a little trial and error. As for the collision issue, it was an issue with my Collision_Shell in the AH-64D.lod file. I edited: (F:\Program Files (x86)\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\World\Shapes\ah-64d.lods) and changed the value: collision_shell = "ah-64d-collision.edm" to collision_shell = "ka-50-collision.edm" and this resolved my issue of sinking into the ground. I know these aren't solutions to your problem as it looks like you may be making a new flyable (nice work btw) but hopefully it will point you in the right direction. I'll put this in your Post so everyone can benefit as it took me ages to get that mod working :) Cheers & Good Luck, P
  4. sorry guys, I didn't mean to start a barney. :) I have no intention of using this stuff in multiplayer or at all really. I am asking if it is possible or what would be required for the BS to fire mavricks. The sim is great, accurate and doesn't need any modifications... I'm just a guy that likes to see what can and can't be done within the restrictions of the sim. I could plop a KH-41 onto the shark and make it work (and it does) but Gaining an unfair / artificial advantage over the enemy isn't my goal here. I just wish to know if adding mavricks is possible without being an ED Dev :) One of the other questions I have asked is to change the contact points... I made a simple AH-64D mod that uses the BS cockpit. All weapon systems work fine and it flies well. The only issue is when it comes to landing... The wheels sink into the ground then pop up repeatedly and it wont sit still (like it has been landed on a bouncy castle) I have seen people mention this before but there has been no comment about how it was resolved.   5. Thanks for the replies. If i simply add mavricks to the KA-50 payload they do not fire. (Any model of mavrick). I changed: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\Weapons\missile_data.lua and gave it a "Head Type=4" (laser). With that modification, I can fire the Mavricks (along with any kind of weapon like nukes) but they are not fire and forget and need constant Laser guidance like the VIKHR and HELLFIRE missiles. @Sense, I know that by default; it can't fire them. I'm wondering if there is a way i can mod ANYTHING to make it work. In the past I made the Cannon have a range of over 10KM and fire with sniper accuracy which was a fairly simply modification. Surely there must be a way to fire the Mavs from the Black Shark. Thanks again for the help guys.
  6. Hi Guys, just asking this question in case anyone has already tried it. I am looking to get the KA-50 armed with Mavricks. I have both KA-50 and the A-10C modules. Is there any way to get the mavricks working on the black shark? By any means at all? I am looking to do some testing and want the missiles available. I have already added it to the payload but i am unable to fire them. I have changed the database so i can fire them but they are laser designated and need constant guidance and are just like the VIKHR / hellfire missiles. Thanks
  7. sorry to hijack the thread in a way... rattler, you said "FM can be adjusted but you are right the floating is a problem but with some work can be corrected." I made an Apache AH64D mod that uses the black shark cockpit but it seems the contact point on the apache is higher than the black shark so instead of floating, it tries to fall into the ground... EG, if you land, the wheels will sink into ground then will bob about once you land completely... it wont sit nicely or still. I was wondering about your comment, how can this be corrected? Thanks.
  8. Thanks again for the replies. I commented out the if statement but it still doesn't work. To double check I got the syntax correct, I done the same with the easy radar which worked fine. I'm using the dragon mission: operation Bigfoot as a test sandbox. Is there a range limit on the radio assist stuff? The buk's a fair bit away from my flying area (15-20km) Any ideas?
  9. Thanks for the replies guys. I don't care much for the realism. I would like like to know if there is a way to get any sort of warning when a missile is lauched. Even if its just a bleep or a message in the console. I have A-10 as well. is there any way i could use the folder from the A-10C and somehow incorporate it into the ka50? Cheers, M

  11. Press: Left Alt + ' and it should give you the payload panel. or press esc >briefing and try a different aircraft, maybe it will have a default payload on it
  12. Hi Guys, Looking for some quick advice. I have DCS World with the DCS Black Shark 2 add on. Both bought from the DCS website and installed.   13. vikhr's have a range of 10km, at least in mine. I know this because the lock doesn't happen until <10km and once i get a lock, i fire. majority of them hit. :) I wanted to know the lock distance as i like lining up and locking the target so i can fly over with the cannon. The earlier the lock, the easier it is :) I will take a look in the cockpit folder and see what I can get. I wil post my findings later. Thanks again for the help :)
  14. Yeah, I've tried that before but it seems that most of the time if i launch without a lock the missile will with fall short (miles short). anyone any ideas about the zoom level?
  15. yeah, its no good when you plan to out-range a strela and can't lock anything until you are 8-9KM away by which time you have a nice missile enroute to your position :joystick:
  16. Reply Thanks for the reply. The tracking gate at ranges 15km+ is normally at its smallest and the object fits perfectly within it. (edges of the truck/tank/apc/shilka touch the targeting gate border) once i get closer (around 9KM) it will finally lock. I thought it was maybe down to zoom level so I looked into modding the shval so it could zoom in further by editing: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Scripts\Database\db_sensors.lua and changed: magnifications = {28, 100}, to: magnifications = {28, 100, 300}, I also tried: magnifications = {28, 200}, but this makes no difference and it does not allow the Shval to zoom in any further than normal.   17. Hi guys, I have setup two view ports so the ABRIS and Shval show on a separate 24' monitor. It looks great and is a lot easier to identify things on both the ABRIS and the Shval. However, when I am 15km or further out from a target I am unable to lock items up even though I can see them clearly and track them manually. Most of the time they will lock at around 9km. Does anyone know why this is? Also, is there a way I can change this if it is a limitation? I have been experimenting with all of the lua files but can't seem to find how to change this or the the zoom value of the shval. (So I can zoom in further than the standard settings) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. M
  18. Thanks for the reply, I don't understand how the collision model can be incorrect, the model I am using is the default AH-64D that comes with DCS World / BS2. Is the collision model not part of the 3D model? I read a few other articles and they all seem to suggest it is part of the model. Thanks again for the help.
  19. Hi guys, I'm looking for a bit of assistance. I made an AH64D mod that makes it flyable and uses the ka50 cockpit but I am stuck with a few parts. When landing / sitting on the tarmac it will bob about as if it keeps sinking down then it will pop up again. The landing gear wont sit correctly and will go back and forth very quickly. No doubt the contact points are a a bit off. Other than that it is good. Flys well and the missiles work :-) Any ideas how I can remedy this? It makes landing more difficult as when it makes contact with the ground the helicopter will tilt as if it was landed on uneven ground. Thanks.
