  1. @Pnguin9999 have you tried the NAV switch (most right on signal dist panel)? should turn all nav equipment audio signals off...
  2. @lwalter you are a genius ! thank you so much for doing this. works very nicely on my end
  3. @Special K fyi: i had that error pop up a couple of times yesterday, when placing a mod to the dcs core install, and i am almost 100% sure it came from a "file modified date" mismatch (modified date later than system time). after solving the issue, no more errors. maybe that helps...
  4. another boring track, in case more evidence is required. again, it happens to the end around 1 h into mission, after roughly 50min flight... uh1-pitot-icing 2.trk
  5. i can confirm the bug / strange feature is still there and happens around 50 min into the mission. track attached (@Flappie). first noticeable after i command the autopilot to orbit, when the speed suddenly starts dropping from around 80 to 60 kt. from that moment on, the ASI exhibits typical behavior of pitot icing. tried recycling the pitot heater (off/on), but didn't seem to have any effect. (i tested havoc's autostart script during this mission, in case someone is wondering about the quick startup) uh1-pitot-icing.trk
  6. i'm kinda in the same camp, but wouldn't go as far as saying skip modelling the pilot body altogether. i think it would be really cool, if the avatar would lift his left elbow up, when the player's view is turned to the left side console. maybe add a latency so that repetitive quick glances dont make the pilot dance too hard in the cockpit.
  7. 100% yes ! thanks for taking the time and putting those well thought through suggestions together i'm thinking maybe 'inherit specific controls from <select aircraft>' could also be useful ? the first bullet point on your list is the most urgent, imo, as it's currently really just messing up everything. another way to automatically assign controls in a 'sensible' way could be a 'share control settings' checkbox. specific aircraft and specific controller bindings including user curves could be collected and paired in a database. a function 'apply community settings' would then try to find a aircraft-controller match in the DB and apply most common bindings and average curves...?
  8. totally agree still, OP's suggestion would make it much easier to learn radio comms in DCS for newbies, and also help for troubleshooting with VAICOM sometimes
  9. very good idea +1 (there can be more than one frq tuned at the same time)
  10. you truly are a gifted engineer! great great stuff, thanks for all your commitment !! since you mentioned the F18 grip, i would like to suggest some ideas: 1) as TM missed to implement the push function in the TRIM switch (which as we learned since the release of the F15 has an important function), maybe you could find a replacement solution to this issue? (maybe connect the trim push switch in parallel to the RECCE?) 2) for a long time i've been thinking how cool it would be, if TM had designed the CASTLE sw and the TRIM sw in such way that they were 'plug & play' interchangeable, so that their grip would also 100% replicate that of the harrier
  11. to me it sounds absolutely reasonable that the ECS sound was correct with helmet OFF, but would be significantly attenuated with helmet ON. thanks RAZBAM & SMEs !
  12. hey @Haunting_Software744, i know it can be a very frustrating feeling, when you think you received a bad unit. when looking at the pictures you provided, i cant see anything indicating the unit is 'used' though. those stains on the metal levers are most probably from the casting process. personally, i would suggest to test the unit thoroughly, and if everything works perfectly, there should be no reason to worry. enjoy your new toy and have fun
  13. great project, thanks so much for sharing this!! cant speak for the tomcat, but other airplanes, where autothrust actually moves the thrust levers, e.g. B737, use some kind of clutch system, allowing the pilot to override autothrust inputs. if this is the case in the F14, this could also be implemented with your 'idea 1', if the belt is flat (no teeth).
  14. maybe that helps
  15. looks very nice @Minsky can you pls share your lua settings?
  16. same. and should be off by default for all modules, imo
  17. atmospheric effects from moisture and dust are typically fading colors the further an object is (the higher you fly). i think, ideally the color palette should be adjusted to match the real world at ground level. maybe dust or fog layers must be selected (within the limits of DCS), when comparing to RL fotos from above. otherwise there could be the risk that colors will be off again from high up, especially once ED's weather engine gets improved.
  18. i have nothing to add other than the 'hear like in helmet' option should significantly attenuate ECS noise
  19. +1
  20. maybe have another try, the next-tab keybind still works for me, but previous-tab isn't doing anything...
  21. that's the idea btw DID nicely catched the lighting and atmosphere over there, including scandinavian accents of ATC...
  22. couldn't find the right option to answer: love them, but would still vote for this feature to be an option. in other words: i think reflections and dirt are essential to an immersive look & feel, but should be improved.
