  1. Try this. I believe it might help https://github.com/briankendall/devreorder Also I use Joystick Gremlin Not into Ardinuino myself anymore. I use BU0836X 12-Bit Joystick Board
  2. I used the scroll wheel from the X52 as it was just an encoder and the back silver HAT switch but the rest is new. The so called mini stick has been replaced with a real mini joystick.

  4. I am still working on updating some of my games at the moment. This is a pretty intense upgrade that requires some good fabrication skills. Basically tear all the electronic guts out of the X52 and mount the new parts. I used a hot melt glue gun for that. I had an old CH Product Pro Throttle that I took the grey HAT switch as well as stripping the cable to use the small wire for all the connections. Figuring out how to connect the scroll wheel (which is nothing but an encoder) to the BU0836X 12-Bit Joystick Board. I used a Dremil and some step drills to modify the handle. One of the more difficult tasks was to grind the shaft of the HALL Effect pot to match the throttle pot and get it mounted in place. It was a lot of work overall but I have been doing these kind of projects all my life as well as my career. Also remember I use this throttle by itself. I do not use the X52 stick and after the MOD it would no longer be usable as it normally plugs into the throttle base. I only wanted the mechanics of the throttle.
  5. Well it is now installed and configured in my simpit
  6. You could make a JSGME package so you could disable it before an update then re-enable it after it
  7. I finished building my custom upgrade to the X52 Throttle. Pretty much all new high quality parts as well as a HALL Effect for the throttle position. Also includes a mini thumb joystick for the strafing requirements. I will be updating my blog when I install it in my simpit.
  8. I just noticed that the AOA gauge is not working. I am using the latest Export file.
  9. I am getting my simpit back in shape after some changes and it seems I have a weird exported view on the right side when flying the F15C. I am using the same monitor config file I have always used. Anyone have any idea what it is for and how to disable it? We have waited for years for DCS to add the RWR export screen and now we have this. With Leavu not working it is back to no RWR on a second monitor.
  10. A quick poll. What is your top 5 most used rotary encoder inputs used for?
  11. Good news it seems the scroll wheel is a rotatory encoder much like the ones in some mouse models. I hooked it up to my BU0836X and it worked fine. They sell mouse encoder replacements of various sizes but I am not sure what size this one it. Fortunately my seems to be working fine.
  12. Has anyone used a mouse scroll wheel encoder with the BU0836X board?
  13. Well after taking it apart I would have to say the scroll wheel is a 360 degree Rotary Encoder. I will know better when I test it with the BU0836X 12-Bit Joystick Board. The throttle axis is a pot as are the other rotary axis knobs.
  14. Would someone like to recommend a rotary encoder to use with the BU0836X? Something on Ebay or Amazon? Thanks
  15. The Saitek X52 and other throttles have a scroll wheel on the backside of the handle. I was wondering if anyone knows if this is a rotary encoder? Any idea for a replacement part?
  16. I know this is an old post but was wondering if you found the scroll selector on the throttle to be a rotary encoder?
  17. My understanding is that the Arduino MEGA 2560 R3 ATMEGA16U2 ATMEGA2560-16AU Board has 54 digital input/output pins and 16 analog inputs. If so why would a 8 axis with 32 button (typical Windows joystick) Sketch need to use a button matrix or shift registers? I am an Arduino newbie so I am a bit confused.
  18. I am looking to replace the pot in the X52 (not PRO) with a HALL Effect. Has anyone seen a post for some into that may have already been done or of someone that is selling a MOD to do so.
  19. I found this to be a good read. https://www.mudspike.com/dcs-f-15c-combat-guide-for-beginners/
  20. So you don't recommend using a diode matrix for the inputs (I am looking for 32 buttons).
  21. Can I use a Arduino MEGA 2560 to create an 8 axis and 32 button game controller card without using any diode matrix? Does anyone have a tutorial for doing so? Or can the Arduino Leonardo do this better (I am guessing I would have to use a button matrix?)
  22. I updated to 1.7.3 update and did this to try and fix crash but it did not work. As soon as I re-enable the plugin and restart it crashes again. Running Win7 Pro and as Admin. *) Find this folder: Users\<yourname>\AppData\Roaming\VoiceAttack *) Remove the VoiceAttack.dat file *) After VA has loaded, re-import the profile VAICOMPRO for DCS World.vap
  23. Does anyone have a JPG or BMP showing how they have the functions assigned using the X52 Pro? I am looking for some ideas from experienced X52 users that have flown the F15 Thanks
