  1. Thanks for the great suggestions and info. Actually you didn't mention it I actually did purchase and try Enemy Within 3.0 yesterday and completed the first two missions. You're right in that (so far) it lacks some action.. but at least I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of bugs vs the "other" campaign I tried. I did have some neck pain (lol) after completing mission 2 in VR, which required you to circle a moving convoy many.. many times. I don't know, maybe it's just me.. but I feel many of the campaign missions could be significantly more action packed. Mission 2 of TEW3 for example, there is a LOT of needless loitering and circling.. literally it is 98% of the mission. There are so many endless possibilities in DCS, yet I am basically idle and circling a slow moving convoy for like half an hour (not sure exactly how long it took, but it felt very long). There was a brief 5 minute piece of action but that's it. I got bored to the point where I started conducting my own air show over the airfield for the few NPC spectators. On the other hand.. I've tried many user generated missions.. and many of them are quite good and action packed, even containing custom voices and background sounds. I would pay double for a campaign that was action packed like some of the free missions I've tried.
  2. So I won't name any names but I recently purchased this popular campaign which really annoyed me for two reasons: - Lack of action: Start up, take off, and flying nearly 100nm to your target is 99% of the time spent in the missions I played in it. In addition, your wingman basically yaps his SOB story constantly over the radio which is not what I'm looking for in a campaign. I know some folks specifically want some of this for realism.. but this is just not my cup of tea. - Bugs: It appears the campaign was initially designed for the first A-10C.. for this reason some maddening bugs occurred that prevented continuing the missions, such as entering waypoints.. but most of all radio bugs which for some reason do not trigger events. These were quadruple checked to make sure it wasn't user error. After some research, some other users have reported issue like this but is largely ignored or deflected as user error by the campaign creator. Anyway, are there any campaigns out there that are more action oriented and up-to-date with the A-10C II? Thanks for any recommendations!
  3. Not sure if this is a DCS or mission issue but having a hell of a time with mission 1. Entering the coordinates in the CDU seem to have no effect. Probably flew around for 20 minutes trying to get it to work. Works fine when doing a free flight, without a mission. Super frustrated.
  4. I just bought this campaign and after “watching” the intro it recommended to go over the manual before getting into the campaign. However the manual and other PDFs are broken in the sticky thread and I’m getting a dead link. Where to download them? update: Disregard, seems you have to be logged in to download.
  5. Thanks very much! That helped a lot. It also looks like I wasn't in Point track mode. Cheers
  6. Hi all, I went on a practice run today since I haven't played in a while, I might be doing something wrong but for the life of me I was not able to deploy a GBU-12 on a laser self-designated target. Problems I encountered: - With GBU12 selected, it wouldn't let me enter the laser code. (I pressed CODE, then entered it on the pad, and press entered.) The laser code remained XXXX - GBU12 selected, I was not able to select AUTO mode. I pressed MODE > AUTO and AUTO would remain crossed out in the HUD - The zoom buttons in FLIR mode don't work. I followed multiple tutorials, here's a quick rundown of the systems while airborn: - Master Arm: Armed - A/G mode set - FLIR on and locked on area target - LTD/R: Armed and TRGT was boxed in the FLIR window 82LG: MFUZ: Off EFUZ: Instant Thanks for any tips
  7. I fly at least twice a week. I typically fly the F-18, I can cold start, taxi, ACM, ground targets, land (still working on landing on a deck). I'm PST zone.
  8. That still doesn't explain why DCS is literally the only game/app that has this problem. Every single other VR app on the Odyssey, including Steam games... don't exhibit this behavior.
  9. This is just a little rant. I won't name anything specific but as a newbie it's incredibly frustrating trying to find a squadron/group to fly with. Many of them claim to be newbie friendly, yet when you join and ask for any help all you hear are crickets. If you're going to run a squadron and don't have time for new people, that is totally fine, but don't call yourselves "newbie friendly" when in reality no one in the squadron even has time to fly with a newbie.
  10. I still have this issue and have found no solutions. Oh well
  11. Are you supposed to eliminate the manpads? I'm on the easier mission difficulty, however I can't seem to get a second pass in, the MK82's need altitude and anytime I climb = boom I can't even see where they are launching from. (semi newbie btw)
  12. It's really odd that others are not having this issue.. however I checked to make sure I wasn't going crazy: There are others that have reported this in the big WMR thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3436393&postcount=74 https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3468022&postcount=84 I think posting the settings won't do much.. I've now tested on 3 different computers with vastly different hardware and have the same issue on all 3 I've also tried a large variety of DCS settings, from vanilla to basic to heavy settings. Again.. DCS is the only app that has this issue. For folks not having this issue.. as soon as DCS loads into your WMR headset: alternate closing eyes to see if the images are the same height. Maybe some people are more sensitive to it. Either way, both images *should* be the same height. I can't even look at the image for more than 2 minutes. I can play Elite Dangerous for 3 hours though.
  13. Hey guys, I have the Samsung Odyssey and have tried DCS and stumbling on a problem I simply cannot seem to resolve. On the Odyssey, DCS right eye image is much lower than the left eye image... making it very hard to look at in VR. This is the ONLY app that does this. All my other apps running on the Odyssey display perfectly. I also have the Oculus, but DCS looks perfect in it. Everything is set up the correct way with SteamVR. I even setup a new laptop with WMR + SteamVR + DCS and with a vanilla setup it does the same. This is incredibly frustrating since the my main goal of the Odyssey was to play DCS. Any ideas?
