Yea he's full of it I like my G1 very hard to decide to upgrade the only thing I don't like is the lead and after reading your experience I starting to wonder on the G2. The G1 is as sharp as a sharp thing if I push it so no problem in that department as for the other benefits of the G2 I have no interest.

I would not hold your breath DCS has not improved since 2017 in VR maybe give or take a frame or 2 lol.

If it's cheap yes I had one lovely colours & Blacks great for night flying make sure you have the "VR cover" you could buy separately for comfort and seals the headset from light.

If your at angels 30 + and no other person on the planet is flying and the weather is fine sunny no wind the g2 will hit constant 90 frames

True looks like the mirror exe used, also he uses a CV1 so no way does it replicate VR the reverb is close.

I never come close to 2% I am at 0.27 % reading with Process Lasso and in task manager 0.1 % as it is as much use as a chocolate tea pot. Monitoring GPU temp GPU usage, Core Clock Mem CPU & GPU %s and fan control maybe the VRAM monitoring is the killer. I have a spike here and there but not huge. Tested With DCS VR replays. Sorry OP for going a little of topic.

That is an interesting point I love my G1 but so many various opinions on the sweet spot of the G2 does make you wonder if there has been a little change on the later models. The sweet spot on my G1 is much greater than the odyssey plus I owned for sure.

Love my G1 only gripe I have is the cable thickness when sitting friends inside VR.

HP made the optics for G1 valve made them for the G2 or am I wrong ?

If you go back one whole page in the thread you can read his comparison regarding the sweet spot: It is a shame your not liking the VR experience as every real life pilot video I have come across prefers it it, but not every ones cup of tea for sure.

I have just picked up a G1 cheap ish & coming from cv1/rift s/ odyssey plus I love it I was very surprised how vibrant the head set is not as good as the odyssey but very nice and the blacks far better than the rift s and pin sharp in comparison. I had chance of 2 G2s from another forum because the G2 not being what they was expecting.
