  1. Thank You ED for the Free for All, It helped me learn a lot about tail dragers and gave me a much better understanding of Russian aircraft. The MIG 19 in particular.
  2. Have to say it is awesome to see some actual carrier discussion going on. I mean that with all sincerity, Thanks to all for the IRL carrier operations information.
  3. Outstanding! Thank you for the projected date!
  4. I paid 24.99 on the first day of EA and got the SU-33 as a bonus. Do I feel ripped off? NO! Sales are sales take what you get and be glad you saved some money. Don;t be upset because someone saved more than you, that is how sales work.
  5. Hello all, I am Dave from Charlotte, NC U.S. I have been into aircraft since I was a small child. Tried to get my pilots license but medical issues prevent that. So I have been flying flight sims since the early days of computers. I have used a huge lot of different sims over the years. Apple flight sim, msfs, combat pilot, Falcon AT/3/4, LOMAC and of course DCS World. DCS world is now my primary sim and have very much enjoyed watching it grow over the years. I enjoy all aspects of flight from commercial birds to war birds and my favorite aircraft of all time the F-16 Viper! Hope to see you all in the air!
  6. As a note for you, I am running Windows 10 on the Windows Insider Program. Currently running version 19613.1005, with all servers connecting. No problems of any kind. Hope this helps.
  7. Try a different usb port, if that does not work reboot the system.
  8. I will take this as, by 05/31/2020. Anytime before that will be a nice surprise. Thanks for the clarification.
  9. I on the other hand will continue to purchase early access modules for 2 simple reasons. 1. Purchasing early access modules helps fund the development of the module. 2. I save money! DCS World is the best thing going for flight sims and I refuse to give up on it because of missed release dates. Keep up the good work ED!
  10. If you want a carrier with animated people on it, get the AV8B, the Tarawa has several crew milling around on the flight deck near the island.
  11. Can't say I am pleased but not upset either. if MP is that messed up, people on this forum would crucify ED for releasing the SC with messed up MP.
  12. Instead of being so negative, let's be positive. Let's think BIG! We may be getting more carrier models or dare I say another plane? dreams I know, but dreams are better than nightmares. As my grandfather used to say "nothing is worth worrying about until it's worth worrying about!" So let's all calm down and take a wait and see attitude. for all our sakes.
  13. Maybe you could please everyone with and AC-130u? Imagine riding the Howitzer position.
  14. With DCS World, Beta is a much looser term than other software. At the current time the Open Beta version 2.5.6.45915 is so far ahead of the current stable version of 2.5.5.41371. Particularly lighting and reflections but generally better looking and more detailed than the stable version. I rarely run the stable version myself, as any bugs are no where close to show stoppers. Also there is no requirement for submitting bug reports when using the Open Beta version. I am certain the the Super Carrier will be a huge improvement over the current U.S.S Stennis model and therefore beta or not it will be good!
  15. To me a firm date is better than a shooting for date any day. Even if it is farther out it is still a firm date. Calendar marked!
  16. The difference is that DCS is a study sim, where others take artistic license in designing the F-35 for say P3D. When ED develops a module they represent that aircraft faithfully in as many aspects as is possible. Where others are willing to make an F-35 that guesses at most systems and capabilities, ED is not! This is why we love DCS!
  17. Machines cannot make decisions on right and wrong. When not to fire even though the orders say too. Nor can they make those uncalculated moves that only humans can do, that "Gut feeling".
  18. The end of Q1 2020 as a goal was given by ED in the Super carrier pre-release statement.
  19. It can be difficult to understand the software development process. What seems like slowness or inaction by the developer is often caused by standards set by the developer on the quality or state of any given products public release. Do we as the customer really need to know that the new formula for part of the code works or not? or would we rather hear about working module, updates etc? Not knowing the inner working of ED's operation is just something we have to live with. That or get a job working for ED. This is my point of view and as such is open to opinion.
