  1. I've used FFB since it came out in the Dinosaur days and I always expect it.
  2. 3 point is the way to go. Keep the tail in contact the entire run with constant back pressure on the stick. The aircraft will lift off when it gets enough speed. Ease the throttle forward in steps, letting the aircraft catch up speed wise till you increase the throttle more. It doesn't take long. When you feel the aircraft lift of the runway, ease the stick forward to avoid excessive climb attitude. Raise gear and fly away.
  3. And don't forget the tutorials, they are helpful and informative.
  4. The phrase Spazzing Out indicates a man of true culture. I hope the problem gets fixed.
  5. I use the same pedals and I don't have the 'Slider' box checked...uncheck it and give it a whirl...oh I see that's Saburo's setup, well if your's has it try it unchecked!
  6. If I understand right I think you are referring to what is also known as the 'safety switch', the little yellow bit that covers the landing gear red 'up' button on the left panel in the cockpit.
  7. Stuka JU87-D with all the bells and whistles (and sirens). What fun! But so much not what's happening.
  8. Or run repair, maybe that'll help: open the cmd-window in the folder where dcs.exe is found type in dcs.exe - repair
  9. I've had the engine quit right after take off and I get a 'Engine overheated' message. I now open the cowl flaps just before take off and no more issue. Seems odd though, the temps don't show that high a reading. Also make sure your oil pressure is reading right...sometimes it will go back to a low pressure reading and not advance when you advance the throttle.
  10. Yes, lift the cover before you roll out, then when you get off the ground and hit your 'gear up' key, they will come up. Had the same problem, I just made lifting the cover part of my pre-flight checklist. Also learned that I don't need an external power supply for startup, I only need 3 of the 5 fuel pumps turned on and...when warming up the motor if I pull the throttle all the way back after a couple minutes of warmup, the oil pressure needle moves into the area it's supposed to be for operation. If I don't throttle back, it stays just under the threshold level and it takes several more minutes to achieve the right pressure. This plane kicks ass and is super fun! Groovy Tucker
  11. Chocks would rule for the A8. Long engine warmup with brakes on. I always want to go get a bite or a drink but I have to sit there with my finger, well, uno
  12. They said this: DCS Warbirds Update Earlier this year we showed off a greatly updated cockpit for the DCS: P-51D Mustang that will be released next month. In addition to a beautiful, new cockpit, we’re also updating the external model to include both P-51D-25 and P-51D-30 versions! This includes improvements to both the 3D model and textures. And some other WWII cockpit updates. Nothing beyond that I suppose.
  13. Only this was mentioned... DCS Spitfire IX Adjusted the tint of the armoured glass.
  14. Interestingly enough I removed the .exe from the CL parameters and attained success. I'm so glad. The un-install/re-install dance was getting very boring. My CL now is .\dcs_updater xxxxxx It used to be (and didn't work) .\dcs_updater.exe xxxxxxx Also interesting to me ('cause I don't really know anything) is the use of .\ before dcs_updater. But it works and I'm not too concerned about the HocusPocusness of it all.
  15. Hi. I'm getting this message when attempting update: Can't move C:\Program Files\Games\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\_downloads\bin/DCS.exe to C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin/DCS.exe: (183) Cannot create a file when that file already exists. I've done the delete _Downloads/cleanup/repair without success. Happened last several times update. I have to uninstall and re-install every time. Thanks for the help!
  16. log from error: See first, it's big. Then when I try to start updater I get this error log: 00000.017 --- Log file: C:\Users\Tucker\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS.openbeta\autoupdate_templog.txt 00000.000 === Log opened UTC 2018-05-12 05:50:07 00000.011 INFO : DCS_Updater/2.7.1.49 (Windows NT 10.0.16299; Win64; en-US) 00000.011 INFO : cmdline: "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS_updater.exe" 00000.013 STATUS: Initializing... 00000.015 INFO : basedir: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta 00000.015 INFO : dcs_variant.txt: openbeta 00000.018 INFO : DCS/2.5.1.16543.355 (x86_64; EN; WORLD,MIG-15BIS,F-86F,FW-190D9,UH-1H,A-10C,FC3,P-51D,NEVADA_terrain,F-5E,BF-109K4,VEAO_HAWK,MIG-21BIS,SPITFIRE-MKIX,NORMANDY_terrain,WWII-ARMOUR,AVIODEV_C-101,FC3_video_EN,L-39,CA) 00000.018 INFO : branch: openbeta 00000.019 INFO : Skipping update check, only 0.6 hours passed since the last one. 00000.019 INFO : DCS/2.5.1.16543.355 (x86_64; EN; WORLD,MIG-15BIS,F-86F,FW-190D9,UH-1H,A-10C,FC3,P-51D,NEVADA_terrain,F-5E,BF-109K4,VEAO_HAWK,MIG-21BIS,SPITFIRE-MKIX,NORMANDY_terrain,WWII-ARMOUR,AVIODEV_C-101,FC3_video_EN,L-39,CA) 00000.019 INFO : branch: openbeta 00000.019 ERROR: Can't run C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin/DCS.exe: (2) The system cannot find the file specified. 00001.767 === Log closed.
