  1. Crap, that sucks. I wonder if they would be kind enough to give me a Steam key if I asked. Kinda sucks being a twice paying costumer and not be able to play the game on Steam. Along with paying for Flaming Cliffs 3 times...
  2. Hi guys, I have purchased long ago BS1 and I upgraded to BS2 a while back, but today I am trying to install BS2 in Steam and it won't accept my upgrade key. Steam did accept my original black shark key, but that doesn't do me much good in the DCS World environment. How do I get Steam to understand that I have upgraded to BS2? Thanks!
  3. Problem has been resolved. The issue was that DCS decided that I also had head tracking software installed. I experimented with FaceTrackNOIR a long time ago and under the axis commands menu if you scroll to the right there might be a column for "head tracker" or something like that. Clear that column.
  4. Yea, don't know what to think about it. The trackir is working in Rise of Flight and IL2. No dice in DCS. Tried SU-25t and SU-27 so far. Same weird behavior. I can assign different axis of TrackIR to different camera movements, but I get odd behavior, like moving my body side to side only to get the camera to work like I am turning my head side to side, but then I'll swap commands to where that axis should be and it doesn't function at all anymore. Can anyone post a screenshot of one of their Axis Command menus with a working TrackIR? I'm wondering if the General Axis Commands are conflicting with the specific aircraft camera commands. Or maybe the mouse view is conflicting? It's just strange, I didn't touch any settings, just updated.
  5. I'm just wondering if I'm the only person having problems. My TrackIR5 stopped working after the 1.2.7 patch. The only axis working as it should is the zooming axis when you move closer to the screen. I spent the last hour messing around in game to get the view controls to work correctly, and it is just a mess right now. I don't have time right now to go into detail about what I tried to do to fix it... Is anyone else having issues? My TrackIR unit is not the problem.
  6. Having just Googled the cockpit of the SU-27SM, I know I'm excited to fly it. Also looking forward to flying the Hind.
  7. Hmm... something weird is going on here. I can't reproduce my problem in the mission editor by placing the mlrs units in the mission and having them fire on a target area. More testing needed I guess.
  8. As far as I can tell, the reason the MLRS cause such system slowdowns is because of the smoke coming out of the back of the launcher system when being fired. You can see a massive white cloud building up behind the launcher unit. The more rockets fired, the thicker the cloud. And that's when our systems start showing 1 frame every 2 seconds. The only other thing I can think of that would cause that kind of slowdown would be the trajectory calculations for each rocket, but I doubt that's the issue here. I'm not really familiar with the file structure used in DCS. I've been scouring files to see if I can find someplace to reduce the number of particles in those white rocket clouds.
  9. What do you mean by 'model'? The name of at least one of the vehicles in the game that causes massive video lag is "MLRS BM-21 grad".
  10. Yea, when an MLRS fires I usually get 1 frame every 2 seconds. It's the kind of thing that should get a quick fix and not wait months for an update. I'm positive it has to do with the smoke effects coming out of the rockets. If someone could find out where those smoke effects are coming from, we could reduce their system load.
  11. Thanks for checking this and doing the work. I'm interested in your findings. The SU-25T is my favorite plane in the DCS series, even though I own everything but the P-51. You know what I really love about the toad? The IR viewing pod (Mercury)... lol.
  12. I'm not really seeing much improvement in the rocket department. Cluster bombs seem a bit more reasonable, but I've also edited that boom1.lua or whatever it's called.
  13. Do you remember what version of the drivers you were using before you updated? I'll be testing soon and report back.
