What I meant is that Winwing are literally run by some Chinese guys and it shows. They don't really care that much for customer support or going the extra mile for the customer. I tried to ask them for alternative shipping method but they just promptly cancelled my order and I lost money to paypal transaction & conversion fees. Tried their "official manager" on Facebook, he said he would "take it to the top" and just disappeared and stopped responding eventually. So yeah. Safe to say they don't give a damn. I also use VIRPIL. When I got my CM2 stick, it arrived with a defective cable. I opened a ticked with an attached video of the problem and support engineer acknowledged the issue and replacement cable was on the way to me in 48 hours. Without any nonsentical "troubleshooting" bs. Talking about first class service here. But that said, WW are decent units, so I would just fix the handle myself.. That, or wait until the 8th of October.

Why does it bother you so much? It's not our fault you have such low expectations. DCS VR experience is sub par to other VR games at the moment.
-
Yes, that's a kit, tho, so 2 separate devices. And seriously, what did you expect from the Chinese? They tried to screw me over with 450$ shipping for only the super taurus. Those guys just don't care that much. Too bad there is not much on the market for the F-18.

There are chinese holidays at the moment, afaik. It says so on their website. Oct 1-7. Frankly, just disassemble the handle and file it down. Problem solved. Why is it a 600$ controller? Orion is 350$.

Instead of crippling your controls with curves, just learn to fly without them. You got an extension. It should help.

Is it possible to trim this aircraft to fly hands off
The LT replied to truebrit's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
omg, whats with the people these days? I don't see "being nuts" as even remotely insulting... jeez. He even put a smiley in there. cmon... -
Second post of this thread answered the OP question clearly enough. And ffs, it is VAICOM, not VIA. I agree with the others, btw, you clearly misunderstand how VAICOM (not VIA) works. Try mapping e.g. CTLD via pure VA, see how it works out.

How to set up toggle switches (a tutorial)
The LT replied to Spy Guy's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Bad idea. It is also used for missile stepping. -
Random loss of control input

USB issues. Probably power delivery. -
I fly without motion smoothing/repro. I find it the worst reprojection of all HMDs. I dialed in my settings to provide close to 75 fps. It dips to low 60s on more complex missions. Pretty playable. 3090.

Sim Shaker / game trix seat effects

Not yet, I have a few jetseats stashed (bought locally for literally pennies when WoT users sold them off). My old seat used stock motors, but on my new swat I'll be using stronger aftermarket 12V motors for more pronounced effect. By using an adjustable voltage power you can increase the motor rpm as well. The whole thing is very simply bulit and designed. More voltage - more RPM. :) -
Maybe those users are fed up with the trainwreck that is DCS VR? Just in case. 3090/Pimax8KX user here. Mostly fly flat screen for a number of reasons. Until I get native HMD FPS within DCS, I'm gonna be finding myself flying flatscreen more often than not. VR should provide a lag-free and hassle-free experience. Something current-gen VR does not provide. Only hardcore users are dedicated enough to jump through all these hoops. VR shaders, fsr mods, endless tweaking, etc, etc. VR just isn't there. Those who enjoy it are just optimistic. I believe ED will continue to push the envelope while aiming at flat screen as their performance target and we won't get 90fps/high settings in the foreseeable future. Sorry for the OT. But that 800$ sub fee is something no sane person would pay... Let's get real here.

Probably a temporary issue. No, it is not necessary, just proceed with DCS control assignment.

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3318327/ I made simple templates for the taurus & the pto/pcr panels.

Sim Shaker / game trix seat effects

All these jetseats are just generic chinese automotive seat massagers with USB control added. So, there is variation between motors. Maybe try a beefier power supply. -
Agree. But it seems VR in general is moving from the PC tethered to the standalone with PC as an option.

What about the Vive Focus?

Don't try to downplay that monthly fee. It is outrageous and unprecedented. What is ok for corporate world is not so for the hobby/consumer segment.
-
No problem, I can also confirm this. I was a bit puzzled with it myself at first but you confirmed my suspicions.

AFAIK, there are no known rudder pedals with with DirectInput Force Feedback (Brunners have their own protocol). I am not even sure the protocol accomodates for such an application. Indeed, the momentum has to start somewhere. The way I see it, some well-known manufacturer should design a new device for the mass market and cooperate with Eagle Dynamics on advanced FFB implementation.

It has been a losing battle, unfortunately. ED refuses to acknowledge the problem while suggesting nothing apart from turning the labels on. They insist that all the modeling is "geometrically correct" and refuse to add the "Smart Scaling" option which has been implemented in other sims to great success, touting its unrealism and overall inferiority as a solution. So, we're stuck with it being "correct as is". There have been numerous threads about it, numerous people have been banned as well. Should this thread evolve into an active one, it will be closed and swift measures taken against those who are too vocal about it. Democracy at its finest. I am sorry, sir. That's just the way things are.
