  1. So, Where are you playing in MP?

    Just my 2 cents worth:

    We are trying really hard to build a player base for the WW2 multiplayer scene. Running events, running social media.

    A big stumbling block is the asset pack. the units are great and it really adds to the immersion but if these units are included in a multiplayer server a lot of potential curious flyers can't take part. They just won't spend $30 on a pack of units for something they will maybe only dip into occasionally.

    If it was up to me, I'd make it something like $12 - it IS worth more for those of us who love the warbirds but bringing the price point down to help the warbird online community grow could be a boon.

    Back on the original topic...

    I already have everything.

    What server(s) are you using and when ?

    I prefer the German aircraft.

    I am Eastern Time Zone.

    Have not flown the WWII era stuff in quite awhile.

  2. In fact, it was fantastic seeing the A-4 flying on the new "hoggit at cold war" mp server last night. Forgot to take a screenshot doh!

    Thanks for the tip.

    I checked out their alpha server and got on it and played some. Took a little bit of head-scratching to find the password for it.

    Thanks!

  3. JSGME is possible in the Saved Games Directories

    Subject : Is setting up JSGME possible for the A-4E ?

    =================================

    Hi,

    I use JSGME, but I have never used it with access to the Saved Games settings.

    Is this even possible to do?

    The real question is :

    =============

    When DCS updates their builds, does it corrupt the A-4E modded files in the Saved Games folder?

    If not, JSGME is not really necessary.

    Me using my JSGME mods setups, when DCS updates itself, I always 1st move my mods in the JSGME utility from right column to the left so modded files do not get corrupted.

    Reply to my own question :

    =================

    Never have used my JSGME to access the Saved Games directories. I did figure out how to add JSGME to my Saved Games Open Beta with its own separate desktop shortcut to load the files without the need to add the A-4E-C files directly. I added _MODS folder to the top of my Saved Games Open Beta listing. (All my experimentation I do 1st with my DCS Open Beta directory.)

  5. Subject : Possible to fly A-4E in Multiplayer on a server ?

    ====================================

    Hi,

    Installed your "Community.A-4E-C-v1.3.1.zip" A-4E-C mod yesterday with mostly no problems.

    Found out about your mod to the Grim Reapers YouTube video :

    Did read through both A-4E forums as to me needing to add the "aircraft" subfolder to Mods\aircraft\A-4E-C to my Saved Games directory and I was good to go.

    Installed the A-4E-C to both my Open Beta and Stable versions and am running the latest builds for both and still using Windows 7 Pro.

    I did play with it some using the Instant Action scenarios for the Caucasian and Persian Gulf environments.

    Will the ability to fly the A-4E in Multiplayer be possible in the future?

    I did quickly browse through all the listed servers in both the Open Beta and Stable versions of DCS in Multiplayer and nobody had the A-4E listed as a player availability option.

    Would be nice to see the A-4E on the Buddyspike or Open Conflict servers.

    And much thanks for a very nicely done mod even if only played off-line !

  6. have installed this everywhere I can think of that matches the readme, still have baguette language in my cockpit. Does this go in saved files or the mods folder of the main directory? I installed it in mods folder first with no luck. INstalled it in the main liveries folder with no luck.

    Go check out DCS Options Special for this aircraft under Customized Cockpit. Mine comes with an English cockpit. I purchased my Mirage quite early on. Don't know when DCS offered this. I have not flown mine since the cockpit was all French lettering.

    Gospadin's mod : JSGME worked just fine at the time.

    If I can teach myself JSGME >>> anybody can learn it. YouTube has tutorials for it.

  7. I fixed the problem...don't know what caused it but I fixed it by copying over the F-5E-3 input file from the release version to the beta version. It was working fine in the release version. Now all is good in the beta too!

    Never thought of doing that. I'd just wait for an eventual fix.

    Thanks for the tip.

  8. FIX? >>> Maybe...

    Hello guys,

    I'm one of those for which CH control Manager is not working with W10. Already spent a few hours around the CH Hangar Forum and reddit trying out all the tips to get it working (It was working great in W7 for me), but with no success so far. Eveytime I try to download a profile (CH Manager jargon, just loading a profile) to get into Mapped mode, W10 stop recognizing my devices (I have to say I own a Fighterstick and CH Pro throttle combo). Only plugging and unplugging the devices make them visible again, or worst, unstalling CH Manager, deleting drivers and installing back.

    So the question is:

    Any alternative -in the form of freeware if possible- to create and load some profiles in the devices to use for DCS? I guess i could just assign DX button to the Hotas combo and use the ingame setting from DCS, although this means i cannot use another mode to double the amount of usable buttons (Or reserving some of the buttons to key presses like: centering/pausing Trackir, etc...)

    Any help would very welcome. I really hope CH can solve the problems with their software -Or Microsoft and his W10 latest update, don't know which company to blame-

    Regards,

    PD: I've been away from the simmulation world for almost 3 years now, and I upgraded to W10 from W7 like 2 years ago, so i didn't notice CH software was having problems-for some users- with W10 till now.

    Getting ready to add Windows 10 Pro to a separate dedicated 2TB SSD for my old Alienware Aurora R-3.

    Have heard some horror stories that CH Control Manager will not work with Windows 10, so have been researching work-arounds.

    Found these two, though a bit dated :

    https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/33087-enabling-ch-products-joystick-control-manager-in-windows-10/

    (Have been wondering if Microsoft would be fixing this negative issue with a future patch... )

  9. Do let me know if you can DieHard. I'm curious what CPU/Mem/GPU you have as you shoot for the VR rig.

    Alienware Aurora R-3 (a little bit upgraded modded) :

    =================================

    i7-2600 CPU @ 3.4 GHz (Sandy Bridge)

    16 GB RAM Dual-Channel DDR3

    2TB 860 EVO SSD

    Asus Stryx GTX 970

    850 watt PSU

    Motherboard = Alienware 046MHW (CPU 1)

    Still running Win 7 Pro, but will be upgrading to Windows 10 Pro on a separate SSD, probably another 860 EVO and a fresh new install of DCSW.

    VR - I am just thinking about it...

    A new machine one of these days...

    Question is, at me at age 67, will I outlive it? If I make it to age 80???? LOL!!

  10. Some of the Multiplayer servers deliberately screw up the Autostart-Up sequence. Therefore, manual startup is required to know how to do.

    That is why I finally gave in and purchased a 10 inch tablet for illustrated startup sequences for the various DCS aircraft >>> makes it very easy.

  11. Personally, I fail to see the need for an RWR. Heli's are Low Level Hell. Terrain should mask you from most radar. Only place you would need an RWR is up high in the clouds, and since you have no chaff, what are you going to do anyway? However, there is some speculation because of what has been read in certain tech docs on the internet, that the President-S may contain an RWR. Not really expecting it though for a heli.

    As for NVG"s, I don't see how they deal with a day scope (the EO guidance system of my Vhikers) that can't see S*#T at night.

    I would be interested as to your trials and tribulations and a report back to this thread:

    ======================================================

    Go play in Multiplayer, the Buddyspike servers as to trying to hide from their radars , even in the trees and good luck with that!!!!!!!!!!! (AWACS , JTAC , GCI and Game Master 's RADARs)

  12. Night Warfare Works Just Fine, Currently (If you know what you are doing!)

    (My machine is a 2011 Alienware Aurora R3 with a i7-2600 cpu and a single Asus GTX 970, 16 GB ram, running on a Samsung 850 Pro SSD... )

    I do quite well at night with the Ka-50 using its last update.

    Problem is : most servers are only doing day time missions, so absolutely no stealth with that not very well modeled AWACS , GCI or Game Master radars. At tree level I should not be able to be seen, especially in the valleys!! At least at night I have a slim advantage killing targets and sometimes enemy aircraft. (Watch some of Cooper's YouTube videos as to capabilities of the Vikhr missile with killing jets.)

  13. I understand first and foremost money needs to be made i do however think its a little off when all i see so far from the list is a quality of life update. If you intend to update the cockpit textures that's fine (frankly they need doing), if however this is a new variant of the black shark then why don't you market it as such and have two module variants?

    like the OP has said there is a lot of people that have paid a few times over for this particular module and im worried this could be a new trend being set as an alternate way of making more money, concerns especially with the A10c updates coming in the future.

    I'm a supporter of ED and have been for a number of years, i've also seen some really bad decisions that have caused ripples through the community, I really hope that this is not going to be the start of a future trend being introduced to us here because this would be a rather unsavory way of turning over money in the future..

    For me personally i will happily take the free texture update but as for the "upgrade" im going to hold onto my cash and let others tell me first if the value of this new update/upgrade is worth the extra features!

    One thing that i have learned over the years of being a ED fan is to be far more cautious about where i lay down my hard earned cash especially around early access modules and beta's.

    Nicely said and I agree with you.

    I like playing Multiplayer almost exclusively. The servers I like to play on already restrict my weapons loadout. I doubt very much they will allow me air to air missiles. I will wait and see and see how it goes before buying an upgrade. For me, I have learned not to buy into early release and wait for the bugs to be worked out.

    I have bought into most of the DCS inventory since joining with you guys in 2011.

    The Ka-50 as it currently is, suits me just fine and is the aircraft of choice most of the time.

    DCS is the only sim I play.

    I am surprised DCS does not just charge a flat out annual fee to cover all the costs.

  14. Hi DieHard,

    Those mods at HelixMod Blog are fixes for games in 3D Vision games.. Yes you can run the game without those fixes but some games most 3D things are Broke like shadows don't look quite right or similar..

    In DCS That mod is mine and Lefunestes mod it fixes some thing but a lot of things are still broke..

    Yes to get Stereo in DCS to work you need to go in Fullscreen mode for 3D to kick on.. now if you want to see a Broken effect go in a plane during noon time on a clear day and bank left or right and look at the Horizon, did you just see a big blue band extend up from the Horizon..

    If you did not see it look again it is there and the mod you seen on Helix mod fixes that issue and a few others..

    If you have any question on 3D vision have you ever been to the GeForce Forums and the 3D vision forums in particular? If not hop on over we are the last of the holdouts as I am unsure if you heard the news but 3D Vision is Officially dead and been announced they will no longer support it and update it past 425.31 drivers..

    Well any questions let me know and VR is the new wave ;) looks awesome in VR. VR will only get better from here looking forward to VR 2.0.

    Thanks for the reply and your explanation and thanks for your helpfulness if I need it in the future.
