  1. I'd like to have a snap view on a 2nd monitor that is a touchscreen, or an iPad using Duet. Is this possible? I know it's possible to put an MFD on a second screen, but I want a snap view that has buttons/switches in it that I can tap on a touchscreen. A bit like Helios, without all the setup.
  2. I should mention that I was still able to use my missiles. After I fired one, the HUD started showing the correct amount.
  3. Tonight I was playing on TTI. I landed at an airport in a Hornet, rearmed, refueled, and took off again. In my HUD, at the bottom, it showed 0 of whatever missile I had selected, even though I had two sidewinders, two sparrows, and two aamrams. The track is huge, so it's on Dropbox. It happens around 1:23:00. https://www.dropbox.com/s/z1h2ng5uhp143hu/Through_The_InfernoPG_v62e-PvP-TEST-20180803-215159.zip?dl=0
  4. @Wags if replaying the tracks people have posted doesn't show the problem, I think there's bug in replay. You can't ignore all the videos people have posted though. There is clearly a problem. Please don't ignore it just because it doesn't show up in replay.
  5. Did you happen to also see a warning on the DDI saying TK PRES LO? I saw that today. I took off from the carrier in TTI with no weapons or ext tanks. When I realized this I landed on the carrier and rearmed. After I took off, I saw the TK PRES LO warning and noticed the fuel was not draining from the ext tank.
  6. it will only be there if you installed SRS radio. it will look like this: local dcsSr=require('lfs');dofile(dcsSr.writedir()..[[scripts\DCS-SimpleRadioStandalone.lua]])
  7. I ran into this bug, so I removed the SRS line from ~/Saved Games/Scripts/Export.lua. After that, my radar worked normally in TTI. Not sure if it was a fluke, but it's something to try.
  8. Most of my bindings are gone too. Only maybe 10% of them remain. I'm so pissed I discovered that my bindings were still there in the lua files. They're just not being read. I backed them up, then tried changing some bindings in the game. As soon as I changed some bindings, all the old bindings in the lua file were wiped out. So back up your bindings before you change anything. I looked at the differences between the old and new bindings for the same function. I noticed that the unique ID for the functions have changed. Let's take Sensor Control Switch - Fwd as an example. Here's what it looked like originally: ["d3005pnilu3005cd38vd1vpnilvu0"] = { ["added"] = { [1] = { ["key"] = "JOY_BTN5", }, }, ["name"] = "Sensor Control Switch - Fwd", }, and here's what it looks like after I set it again in DCS: ["d3005pnilu3005cd13vd1vpnilvu0"] = { ["added"] = { [1] = { ["key"] = "JOY_BTN5", }, }, ["name"] = "Sensor Control Switch - Fwd", }, The ID in the first line changed slightly. d3005pnilu3005cd38vd1vpnilvu0 d3005pnilu3005cd13vd1vpnilvu0 I suspect this is why the old bindings aren't being read. DCS is now looking for a different ID for this binding. This is a severe bug. ED please get a hotfix out ASAP.
  9. i'm finding it much easier to beat the F-4 since the update. you can now simply out-turn him. if you have the energy, just pull all the way back on the stick, and the mig comes around pretty quickly.
  10. great. want to share your secrets, or are you just teasing us :)
  11. so i forgot to close the canopy and lost it during takeoff. pulled the chute and taxied back to the parking area. after repair, my canopy did not come back. had to abort a campaign mission. seems like repair ought to replace a missing canopy.
  12. what they say in that history channel show is that the Mig is more agile at high altitude; over 20,000ft. that instant action dogfight starts at 5,000ft, so you're immediately at a disadvantage. that being said, i have managed to get on the F-4's six a couple of times by getting him to overshoot me. however, he then goes into a straight up vertical climb that the Mig-21 cannot follow. if you try to follow him, you'll stall out and lose your engine. i haven't worked out what to do about that yet. maybe just fly level until he comes down and try not to lose sight of him.
  13. what we need is detailed performance data for the Mig-21 and the specific variant of the F-4 in DCS. through a direct comparison we can work out exactly how to maximize the Mig's performance advantages (if any). if there are no performance advantages over the F-4, then there's hardly any point in trying to out-fly it.
  14. ok so sounds like it's not modeled in DCS, but just out of curiosity, can it be done in real life? seems like it should be technically feasible, and tactically valuable.
  15. is it possible to detect other aircraft using ECM without turning the radar on? it seems like the radar should not have to be transmitting in order to receive a jamming signal. right now the only way i know of to detect jammers is to turn the radar on. related question: is it possible to launch a HOJ capable missile (and hit the target) without turning on your radar? could you "mad dog" an AIM-7 on a jamming target? this question applies to all radar equipped aircraft, but if there are differences between aircraft please do point them out. thanks.
  16. i see. that makes sense. i had downed an F-15 maybe a minute before, and he fired no missiles, which i thought was strange. maybe he really did, but my game client didn't get the message until it hit me. thanks.
  17. i was flying along in an Su-27 on the AEF server, and suddenly exploded for apparently no reason. after reviewing the track and acmi file, i can't figure out why i exploded at 9:39:04. no missile hit me, no one was shooting at me, and no one was near me. is this a bug? i've attached the acmi file. the track file was too big to upload as an attachment, even when compressed. 18. sounds like you have something missing in your joystick config file. have you been copying/pasting between files? that's what happened to me. try looking at C:/Program Files/Eagle Dynamics/DCS World/Mods/aircrafts/Flaming Cliffs/Input/su-27/joystick/default.lua and find the line for EOS, and make sure that same line is in C:/Users/YourName/Saved Games/DCS/Config/Input/su-27/joystick/MyJoystick.lua. change the name of the aircraft in the path to whichever you're working on. if the line is missing, copy it over. that's what causes the function to not be assignable.
  19. in this post, it's claimed that this bug was resolved: 137 - SIM crash on exiting campaign missions however, i still get a crash every time i finish a campaign mission. i'm on the latest versions of DCS:W and FC3 (1.2.2). my system: Windows 7 x64 GeForce 460 GTX, recent 310.x drivers 4gb RAM
  20. i've been waiting to buy FC3 because i don't want to be frustrated by a beta (buggy) experience. i'm mostly interested in MP A2A combat. to those of you who have tried it: is FC3 playable in MP? are there any major bugs that detract from the experience at this time? i'm willing to tolerate some bugs, but i don't want to deal with any major show stoppers, like connectivity issues. your feedback would be appreciated. S!
  21. has anyone resolved this issue yet? i am about to submit a support ticket, unless someone knows how to fix it...
  22. sorry, but in my second post of this thread, i stated that that link does not help me because it only applies to people who have multiple accounts. i have only one account.
  23. i cannot log into the website with a 1 added to my username, so i guess that's not the issue.
  24. what would that do, and where would i do it? when logging into MP in DCSW?
