  1. I'm finding that it doesn't even locate my DCS World installation - it's non-steam, and it's installed correctly. Overwolf's installed correctly, too! NFI.
  2. Very good news indeed. Perhaps this will have the potential for a positive effect on Multi-GPU VR, as well. AMD's LiquidVR functions are not currently implemented
  3. Look, you're going to spend your money on something sooner or later. Whether or not that's a product that's got native Vulkan support is questionable at best. Hurry up and wait, solemnly, patiently, and for the love of a 25 page thread... read the previous days' posts!!
  4. It's a major undertaking to apply to EDGE, especially whilst Hornet is in development still. Just wait patiently
  5. VKB Gunfighter MKI MCG Pro (Default config sucks) + Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals (Default config sucks) + Saitek X-65F Throttle (Default config sucks) + TrackIR (Default config is acceptable)
  6. Regarding installation and use of Tacview 1.7.1, is there a way to ensure it detects a copy of DCS World that has been copied-and-pasted? My installation of DCS World 2.5.x OpenBeta has detected the presence of Tacview 1.7.1, however the reverse is not true. Repairing DCS World does not correct the issue, either. Short of de-registering, re-downloading and re-registering all modules, is there a solution?
  7. The more traction Vulkan gets with DCS the better, multicore systems just aren't being utilised to the best of their ability with the sim in the current state. Would be nice to see development shift to it once F/A-18C is in Release
  8. It's like a dating site. If your PM hits a full inbox, well you'll just have to live with your compliments being unsaid :P
  9. I thought the screenshots thread was merely to show a graphical representation of DCS's development...
  10. Time: If you don't have the time to fly it, you won't get time to enjoy it. It's just like kids, except it doesn't grow up.
  11. which shortcuts are important to you? You can recreate them manually, which saves time. If you know what you're doing it's very simple. If you don't, I'm sure someone or myself will write up steps for you to create your end result.
  12. I wish I could see a youtube video of all this testing :)
  13. Post dropped at 0100 AEST.. already 21 pages of feedback by 1530. Goes to show how large the community is, and how much we've all been looking forward to the fruit of ED's labours! Well done!
  14. I like the fan. Maybe look into piping-in some air vents as your next improvement?
  15. Does this still occur if you were to drop the resolution to a minimum/windowed mode, and re-run the test? If it does, it's a CPU-bound issue that likely isn't anything to do with your processor. the 4790K's have extremely strong single-thread performance, so it'll be an issue with the sim. Run these tests with high/ultra graphics, lowest resolution with Task Manager/Performance in view to be sure of the situation - do a little troubleshooting ;)
  16. Like Radio and IFF simulation, ECM simulation for the player's dissemination is best kept to an UNCLASSIFIED level of fidelity, as this isn't a Classified Military Simulation Product - and Govts like to keep their secrets undisclosed. I'm happy to work with a conceptually relevant model, because I sure as hell don't want to find NATO, EU or RU military secrets which would jeopardise the livelihoods of the developers.
  17. Can this be a thing we can integrate with Discord?
  18. Recently I've noticed that this sounds super-amplified. Also how does one manipulate it's volume independently?
  19. I don't believe it's a bug. Sure, it isn't the best FLIR simulation but it's close enough to what I've had to work with that I don't have a problem with it. Contrast creates visibility. A standing vehicle that's just running off its' battery packs only cools down to a temperature close to that of the adjacent terrain. I've seen the 1.2 screenshots, and if nothing else the contrast is that the vehicle is sharp and the land textures are blurry. DCS 1.5 added better texture filtering among other things, so your texture-based contrast is peanut butter, now. The amount of heat radiated depends on how long the object has been moving, what they're moving over (friction generates heat) and also the temperature of the surrounding area. Also knowing which areas of the model are actually radiating heat (ala SAM Radar) is important to know if you are to simulate the experience accurately.
  20. That all depends on how long they've been moving, what they're moving over (friction generates heat) and also the temperature of the surrounding area. Contrast creates visibility. 21. Heh yeah, I have to agree the huge picture was inflammatory. But yes I have experience with FLIR... You're lucky to get it as good as it is, trust me.
