  1. Well, apparently this crashing upon exiting problem is as old as DCS itself , i found out after some googling.
  2. Well, the pump is definately working. As soon as i pull the connector, temps rise to 95 degrees. Had to quickly stop prime or else it would have gone up to who knows Then, i did a windows restore, which screwed EVERYTHIGN up ... And a couple of hours later i'm here again posting about it :noexpression: Maybe i fixed the problem now, who knows , right ? :D
  3. yeah the LED already crapped out on me. Funny that you would mention that :D The pump must still be working, because when i stop the workload the temperature drops 40 degrees in a matter of 1 or 2 seconds. Windows 7 , and Asrock z77 extreme 4 These chips are quite notorious for heat. Apparently intel used some crappy blob of thick cool paste between the actual chip and the lid. There's too much room between the cpu and the lid. Taking the top off the chip usually saves about 20 degrees celcius it seems. But, delidding , seems like risky business:
  4. Multiplayer . Then watch every single engagnment back on tacview. That's the only place you will get into decent fights against an enemy that is NOT only interested in getting in a dogfight as soon as possible. I tried in single player as well, like you did. But the stupid A.I will only fire 1 missile at maximum range. Then they fire a second short range missile from within visual range, and that's it. I personally don't think going up against 4 A.I's in a furball mess is going to help you a whole lot in getting to know missiles. So, basically just fly ... then watch back on tacview. At first the tacviews will look a lot different than in your head. As you keep flying and watching the tacviews , your head "tacview" and the real tacview will start to look more and more alike. It will take some time.
  5. celcius yeah it's on the warm side, but like you said, it's a pretty extreme workload .
  6. You really can't "dodge" missiles . You are not Neo. :D Your best bet, is try and get a sense of how much energy a missile has left once it gets close to you. For this, the most important thing to know is when (at what range to you) the enemy fired this missile, and what plane and missile you might be fighting . Keep eye on radar screen , you must always know how far target is from you. Say you see range between you and him is 30 miles, now you have to assume he probably fired something already because in many cases that is Rmax. No need to panic , Do 2 or 3 hard turns while keeping enemy locked and that first missile will not hit you if you keep enemy at an angle. In fact, at that range you don't need to do any hard turns and flying an angle should be enough but better safe then sorry so add a couple of big G's And if you get a warning from an active missile, while your enemy is still 25 miles out, you know that missile warning is not a real threat because missile goes active at around 10 miles from you, this means it has already travelled 20 miles or so, so it's basically just falling out of the sky already while it still has 10 miles to go to you . 20 miles, He fires another ,you have to assume this, even if you don't get a launch warning, (could be ET, could be aim 120 or R77 inTWS mode) . Still a very long way to you, so no need for panic. You must go evasive a little more agressively now though. Same thing applies. A missile fired from 10 miles, you can no longer bleed while keeping your lock on him. I mean, i'm sure it's possible but it's a big gamble. At this range you fire at him, and turn around. There's a lot more to it, and the distances i mention vary with altitude and speed , but long story short, don't count on "dodging" missiles, you can only wear them down through manouvring. (up to a point). Because after a certain point ... well ....
  7. Infidels ! You underestimate my fiddling powers! :D The reason i forgot half of my settings was because this overclock has not been fiddled with since years. Back then, i knew what i was doing. It's just that i forgot most of it because i did such an AMAZING job of getting a super stable 24/7 overclock that never needed any "maintenance"! :D I do not understand why suddenly my Vcore was so low. All i can think about is that i set some mobo setting like "power save mode" to enable . (after i got an electricity bill of 1200 euro's :mad: ) Prime has been running @ 4,5 ghz for 4 hours now. Temps are pretty nice , around 75 degrees, considering it's 25 degrees in my house, no errors yet. Maybe the game won't crash anymore when i am forced out of the plane, i hope so but , i have my doubts. But maybe the virtual memory thing helps, i read some applications can act weirdly when the virtual ram is set to 0 Guess i'll find out :-(
  8. Holland is playing quarter finals in 15 minutes, i heard someone come on TS a few hours back but i don't think it was Starkey ? Maybe tomorrow , running prime cause game crashes almost every time i die
  9. Seems that cpu voltage was set @ "auto" as well ? Can't run 4,5 ghz on 1.0 Volts ... Running prime now. It's running quite hot already though, 8 threads , 1.25 Vcore, blend test , 78 degrees celcius on core 1 , hmm only been running for 5 minutes. *edit, temp dropped a bit now, think watercooling fan woke up, 70 degrees now .. looks good
  10. The plot thickens .... I was fiddling around in BIOS , and turned on "CE1 Halt state" on the processor. It would not boot into windows anymore ! This has always been enabled, untill Arma 3 , because this would be one of 3 million illusion fixes for the bad performance of that game. So back then i turned it off. Now it appears i can't turn it on anymore cause my windows will simply not boot with it on. Ok i gave the disk some virtual memory. Clocked CPU back to 4.0 ghz . Going to run prime now for a while I also had to export some file from the 1.2.8 beta , into DCS a while ago to make tacview record the flights. But i'm pretty sure the problems started long after that. Enough for today, i can't think anymore. thx for the help guys. First i must make absolutely sure my system is stable . Prime time.
  11. This is my export.lua file ^ (aww and the track DID fail , stuck in the grass again lol) It's also weird, just now i quit the replay ... says "stops responding", then i CLOSE the game, and guess what, it loads another screen "watch again" or something like nothing happened -_- The game IS having problems "switching .exe's " like mentioned before
  12. Virtual memory ... i think i set it to 0 a while back, but with that i mean long before these problems started happening. Free disk space, uhm about 35 gigs left . I do wonder though, i think the game loads terribly slow considering it's on an SSD. But "disk health" is still at 100% according to some program. Ram usage is about 3 gigs when i play i think... But my graphics cards only have 2 GB . I haven't checked the in game graphics memory usage . But then again, no problems while playing whatsoever, except super low frame rate when the server lags out of control. Framerate drops to low 10's when i look at a lagging player, or even in his direction without me even seeing him visually. He can be 50 miles away, but if he's lagging, i'm getting horrible frameratre. The only thing that i can think of, that has changed, really , is the weather. It's gotten a lot warmer, i think i really have to do a long prime95run. Or try stock clocks ... I have no idea really
  13. I7 3770K GTX 680's (sli) 8 GB of RAM Samsung 840 (something) SSD I went back to an older nvidia driver , first time i died, my game did not crash Second time i died (thankfully some hours later) , my game crashed AGAIN. So the reverting to older graphic driver did nothing. I also get no problems while flying, it never crashes then. Only when something happens, especially dying. Also happens when -server changes mission. -I quit the game - I quit a track - Change planes Anythging that will take me out of the vehicle basically, makes the game crash (stops responding, freezes) I tried this "repair" thing . Didn't help. The game crashes BEFORE i see my death message. Maybe that helps in figuring out what exactly is happening when one gets out of the plane. Want to hear a funny thing ? My tracks seem to be working excellent now though , it's so weird. I can watch 4 hour tracks at 4x speed without issues. -_- I am considering a fresh windows install though, it's been , ... a year or two now . I just hate doing that so much When this track is done cooking, i'm gonna leave prime running for the night, see what's up .
  14. Went back a driver installation. It's the only thing i can think of that has changed lately.
  15. i am getting SEIROUSLY angry now Can't properly alt_tab out of the game, as it DISAPPEARS from my task bar, and to get back in i need to open up TASK MANAGER Computer needs a REBOOT whenever i crash , or do ANYTHING And what's up with the idiotic loading screen, why does it need to get OUT of the game to load anytyhing ? BETA
  16. Many times, my game will crash when i get hit . Or exit the game. Exit a running track. Basically anything that halts the current operation. I could try running no overclock, maybe it helps, no problems running Prime95 or any other program though
  17. This plays in the background whenever i do ... anything. Read newspaper, lifting , frying an egg ... xPPXnU4vR2k it's epic.
  18. How can i fix this !!!~:mad::mad:
  19. I will be dogfighting USA_Starkey tonight, it will be my first dogfight vs a person, but i'm sure i can answer all you guys questions after it. I wanted to go right now, but he had some lame excuses like: "it's 4 am i'd like some sleep please" or some nonsense like that. I'm sure he's just scared. :noexpression: Going in the 104th now, i'll only bring aim9's , see how that goes :megalol: Wish me luck rofl
