  1. ACW is still recruiting, see 1st post for details
  2. WolfHounds' Air Combat Wing (ACW) is now recruiting, with specific focus on players from within the Australasian region. TIMEZONE: ACW operates in the AEST/AEDT (GMT +10) with our events occurring regularly on Saturdays @ 8pm DESCRIPTION: Based in Australia, ACW is a growing DCS group with members ranging from complete novices to ex-military. As a group ACW holds regular, weekend Ops throughout the year. These ops typically follow a campaign style narrative, and are not limited to specific modules. If you are interested in joining ACW, then be prepared to join a group who plan, train and fly together to fulfill the mission objective. SERVERS: To support our DCS community we operate and manage two public servers, including one mission server at no cost to our members. Public servers run our inhouse OPENWARFARE MP Mission across the Caucasus and Persian Gulf terrains. Our Mission server is solely used for our DCS ops. REQUIREMENTS: As we endeavour to allow the pilots the most freedom with how to approach operations, there is no air-frame requirements for ACW. However, we do desire pilots who are: Mature, Cooperative, Active, participation is key. If you are interested, please either PM me or join the WolfHound Tactical Discord. When joining our discord make sure to give yourself the ACW role Some eye and ear candy below, put together by one of our ACW members
  3. Script Function: Template Spawning, tracking, client scoring, tasking && zone management Script Tool: Exclusively MOOSE Notes: MOOSE is extremely well documented and provides far more options than the ME for designing missions. I solely use the ME for placing unit templates and zones, everything else is done via MOOSE. The missions we run on our community server will go for 13hrs, if there was a working garbage/wreckage collection, i'd be using that as well !!
  4. Thanks, HardCard. I'll look into your suggestion and thanks for the example code and comments, I didn't think of that approach. There's still much to learn from moose, it seems quite a powerful and flexible approach to mission design and balancing the mission can quite a challenge when player numbers change. I'll see how I go with it. thanks!
  5. Hi folks, I'm new to mission development using the moose framework and over the past couple of weeks have immersed myself in learning and applying it. Recently I ran my first coop mission using Moose and tested it alongside the group I'm involved with. One thing I'm interested in is finding a technique for balancing the mission such that any opposing Ai that spawn can be scaled, based on the number of players in the mission on the Blue side. I understand that the ai balancer can be applied for aircraft on the players side, but is there a way to begin a scheduled spawn by monitoring how many players take a cap role? The current mission implements scheduled spawning such that there is always a potential of 10 Ai Cap in the air on the Red side. The problem was that it wore our CAP players down, as they felt they weren't making much progress. thanks in advance
  6. Question. May seem obvious, but what World version are you locking in for both 1.5, 2.0?
  7. ++1 have always loved the Mirage.
  8. Hi thanks for the replies. I think I sorted it out. I wasn't sure if there were any differences between the two install options, but I'll get to test it out over the weekend. In the end after starting again from a clean slate, I selected ; 1. DCS World and directed its install path to the open beta folder 2. directed DCS World save games path to the open beta save game folder 3. de-selected the open beta option this seems fine now and TS now finds the export file. Also it doesn't create two installs, as previously experienced, in which one game folder doesn't exist. thanks for the help
  9. Hi, I'm not sure what to do during the install of aries. I only have DCS World 1.5 open beta installed, yet the installer also wants a location for DCS World. Do I just ignore that and continue with the installation for World 1.5 OpenBeta? or is World 1.2.x required as well? thanks * update * so i installed aries, leaving the pathway for the DCS world clear, and directing aries for the DCS World Open beta. Everything seemed to work OK, the lua file was updated and TS plugins were added to the TS folder, But, TS couldn't find the export file needed to connect. Un-installed aries. During install, should I point them to all the same place? I cannot deselect DCS world and just install for the beta. If anyone with just DCS world beta installed has any suggestion for how to install correctly, i would greatly appreciate your advice!
  10. great podcasts, well produced & easy to listen too. fascinating to hear the leatherneck stories. the interviews are really top quality. well done.
  11. great news! will be testing it out tonight with some folks edit: first thing was to repeat the FC3 issue i mentioned previously, and, no crashes, which is great. will give a thorough test tonight with others.
  12. noice. i got rid of all my clutter as a sanity check and now prefer to do most of my control using TouchOSC
  13. the error occurs at the very start of the mission. tested using instant action in the SU27 and F15. then tried creating a clean mission from the editor with nothing else other than the player aircraft (su27 and again the f15) same error and dcs crashes. Went through the same process, but with the Ka50 and then Huey inserted, and no problems. Also for my own knowledge and for future reference, will commenting out the entry in the export script disable the execution of the application incase problems persist? // dofile("./AriesWings/AriesRadio.luac") many thanks!
  14. this is all very exciting. tried v1.970, seems to work as far as I can tell for the KA50, Huey and Mi8, but crashes DCS with FC3 aircraft. Can't load Briefing is the error I get. Otherwise, this will be such a great addition!
  15. thanks for the welcome :) I guess I can only hope a thorough keybinding list is not overlooked by the devs when it comes out of beta.
  16. Hi all, so i'm currently working through my start-up mapping for the Mi-8 and, either I'm missing something, or, the following switches are currently not included in the keybindings list; Batteries 1 & 2 L & R eng shutoff valve switches L & R Fuel tank pumps 115V & 36V inverters rectifier switches I haven't gone through the entire list, and given this is still in beta, but will these be added at sometime? in most of the DCS modules I've played, I've found almost all switches, that are pertinent to startup/shutdown, accessible for user mapping. Would be nice if this was also the case here. thanks
