  1. I don't quite understand your head in the sand stance on this. ".... a number of companies including 777." one of those numerous companies being RRG Perhaps? Or at least commissioned by RRG. What's your problem with crediting RRG? RRG took a lot of flack on these forums. They made some mistakes but they also started this whole DCS:WW2 thing.
  2. Wasn't Psy06 part of the RRG team who created the cockpit? Or was paid by RRG to create the cockpit? You don't remember this thread at MM? Either way it was an RRG product until ED took over. Credit where credit is due
  3. Since the beginning of time there have been 2 main topics when it comes to German ww2 aircraft in simulations. 1. The FW190 "bar" 2. The under-powered cannons. I have tried may time to take out the dora in the P-51 with minimal success and a whole lot of frustration. I have flown 1 dogfight with the 109 against the P-51 and in 3 bursts he was in his 'chute. Maybe some folk need to look at their gunnery skills and less at the perceived weakness of the German guns
  4. I think RRG deserve some credit for this module, while everyone are patting ED on the back for the 109 remember this was RRGs baby. Their model, interior and exterior. I don't know how much of the flight model was completed before ED took over but we do know from the kickstarter updates that a lot of work was already done on this module by RRG. While ED do deserve some credit for finishing the product, RRG deserve some credit for the work already done. Well done RRG/ED for a fantastic module
  5. This from the guy who defended EDs cutting of the rewards for kickstarter backers. :music_whistling: Couldn't resist.
  6. I don't know what it is but I just find the Dora a really ugly airplane. It looks like somebody put a 190 on the rack and stretched it. Can't wait for the 109 a much more aesthetically pleasing aircraft.
  7. And it will remain a niche product. A guy comes into the forum and states his point of view and is attacked. folk who want ww2 content are attacked and folk who don't want ww2 products are attacked. A guy comes into the forums and states his point of view in a long post and is told to keep it short and get to the point. A guy comes into the forums and states his point of view with a short abrupt post and is told to elaborate. No wonder flight sims are a niche product. The community is garbage. Full of fanboys who will get defensive at any sign of anyone not having the same point of view as their own. I like ww2 sims but i cannot stand the constant whine from the luftwhiners in regard to the german aircraft not being the uber machines they expect. So to get away from that I fly modern aircraft sometimes. There is a place for both sides and DCS is the only sim that caters to both in a combat environment. I would prefer vietnam aircraft and a decent map to fly them in but that is not going to happen for a long time. maybe if ED release the SDK for map making but I am very doubtful that is ever going to happen as ED are charging for maps and User created maps will no doubt take food from their mouths and their families mouths.
  8. I've bought everything apart from the Russian helicopter and the mig 21. i bought the sabre but rarely fly it, its a great module but lacks any real player controlled adversary. I'll probably buy the mig 21 in a sale because, like the sabre, it lacks any real adversary right now. whether that changes in the future who knows. So i'm just going to be buying what has a contemporary adversary or pick them up in sales

    Wondering

Well that explains it then. Thanks. I'd add to your rep as a thank you but alas...

    Wondering

Interesting that i cannot give rep for this post.
  11. How about hinting me in the direction of the desert terrain mod instead of trying to be a smart arse. I was well aware of the spoiler
  12. This. We were told that ED were going to lose money on DCS.WW2 so our rewards were cut to the equivalent of $20 per aircraft and now the dora is on sale for $14.99! WOW, just WOW
  13. Hi. I have been toying with the idea of putting together a flaming cliffs type project, not pfm, consisting of the carrier air wing of the uss oriskany in 1966/67. I have a skyraider in the modeling process and was just about to start the crusader. My skill set doesn't allow the creation of pfm so I thought I'd start small and hopefully develop it further down the line just as ed have done with the flaming cliffs aircraft. Maybe you could start small and work your way up to the high fedelity airframe you're after. I'd love to see a crusader in dcs. Good luck with this. One less aircraft for me to grapple with. I can concentrate on my skyraidef and maybe the oriskany.
  14. Yeah that would be tough but imagine the "braveheart" A-10's
  15. Scotland and England in preparation for the border scirmashes that follow after Scotland's independance
  16. He didn't say there was mouse ain in dcs. He said mouse aim and waiting for a full real battle in warthunder killsit for him. He would like the dcs maps to be beter by just having better graphic on the part of the map that the mission takes place. That's not how the game works OP. Things will improve with EDGE we are all hoping. Better performance and graphics
  17. I don't see what's wrong with the introduction of more fc3 level aircraft. Especially if they can be developed into pfm's later on. The development time would be drastically reduced, the developer would have a source of income while developing the pfm, (I would gladly pay $40 for a fc3 level f-8 crusader if I knew it would be developed further in time) and the punter would have a larger selection of aircraft. While we all would prefer a highly advanced flight model the wait for certain aircraft, f-18, f-16, for some is a matter of much debate on these forums.
  18. Follow projects (from KickStarter): - Theathers: -- East Front Theather (planned) --- Romania Theater (planned) -- West Front Theather (planned) --- Ardenes Theater (planned) - Aircrafts -- Hawker Typhoon IB (planned) -- FW-190A-5 (planned) -- Douglas A-26B-15 Invader (planned) -- Lockheed P-38J-15 (planned) -- Havilland Mosquito FB.VI (planned) -- Boeing B-17 (planned) -- A flyable Luftwaffe plane (Me 410 A or Ju 88, as voted for by the backers) (planned) -- Other addons. Where can I get Information on the A-26 and the listed maps Ardens etc? It's the first I've heard of those and would be interested to k ow where the info comes from.
  19. Argue all you like, it won't happen. DCS is free btw. And what I mean by cheapen is to lower it to the same level as warthunder. I wasn't talking about price. If you can't understand where folk are coming from with their posts, you're in the wrong forum and playing the wrong sim. I'm done here.
  20. Maybe the developers don't want to cheapen their product. They are selling their product as a simulation, the s in dcs. Why produce high quality flight models and try to simulate the real aircraft just to have them flown by a mouse? Doesn't make sense. I really don't think market saturation is in EDs roadmap. They strike me as very passionate about what they're trying to achieve and mouse control won't be part of that. Like the other guy said, if you've played other games using your mouse to fly airplanes play those.
  21. Mig 17 v F-8 Crusader would be a much better. I don't know why people keep banging on about the F-4, the F-8 is a single seater, has 4 cannons, the sidewinder did much, much better than the sparrow in the Vietnam war. The Crusader had a much better record than the phantom during the Vietnam war. If you look at the early Vietnam war the sparrow had a terrible record. I'd like to see both the F4 and F8 but given a choice the F8 wins everyday in my book. Oh and I didn't vote
