  1. Thank you, I have not reactivated because of this, and well, I miss my crashes.
  2. There is an issue with SSD drives that just soaked me, I am down to one or two activations left on some craft, and this is bothering me. BTW the issue with the SSD is if the drive gets shut down because of a power failure, or your system locks up and you power off and on, you may corrupt the boot sector and as all licensing information is stored on C there goes and activation. Some of my activations still stand but other are getting low. Meanwhile now I have the ability to buy standalone add-ons, but what happens if my activation runs out? I lose everything but the add-on, which is now useless?
  3. Well that video from the 30th tells a bit of a different story. They are based in Belgium and take on various missions, they share the base with a P-61 group. It truly was a multi-role fighter, it did recon, CAP, CAS, escort and, with a modified version as the bomb aimer, bomber with a load almost equal to a B-17, just delivered a little quicker.
  4. Allied air superiority over Normandy. June 6th engineers made a runway for a Piper Cub observation plane. Famous words from Normandy, German "where is the Luftwaffe"
  5. Just reading the Anthony Beevor book on D-Day and there were lots of missions, for all the aircraft we have, sort of. There were recon missions, fighter sweeps, ground attack, and heavy bomber runs(with the objective of causing shell holes on the beaches, sadly they missed) Now the issue we will have is we have the wrong Focke Wulfe and need the only allied plane, at low altitudes, that could catch them the Typhoon, though it played a major role in air to ground, the feared "Jabo" Then we have the break out attempts after the landing, with the infamous pre-Cobra bombing mission that managed to kill an American General, the only one to die during the entire war killed by friendly fire. With the DCS engine you could build one hell of a game on just this piece of real-estate.
  6. Oh sure, say that now after I ran out of valium...
  7. Where do I but it though? Please take my money...
  8. Add the Cromwell Sexton Priest Firefly Humber Greyhound
  9. First let me say how impressed I am with the Normandy map, thank you it is very nice. There are a couple of things that strike me, first the enormity of this project. I am used to games coming out with all the bells and whistles, but they lack that touch, this map has that touch, but lacks the bells and whistles, which I actually understand. I am not sure if ED can produce all that is needed to set this map up for a full combat, or if we have systems powerful enough to handle all that would be needed. All six beaches are on the map, but think of all the equipment that was there at the same time, that is a lot of computing power. Now give life to those items and your mind starts boggling. Anyway, what I would like to see. German side, BF 110 JU-88 JU-87 FW 190 A7 Storch Flak all sizes Opel Blitz Sdkfx 25/1/2/3 and prime movers Arty Hummel Wespe Nebelwerfer US M4 variants M5 P38 B26 A26 Typhoon Churchill Bren carrier Kangaroo M3 command car M2 variants Arty flak C47 Lysander Cub B24 Lancaster There are some I left off because I know they are being worked on. We need most of those items to do some basic missions, not all, but some. Feel free to add any you think were needed, but try and keep it to actual units that were there.
  10. I run an old i5-4500, with 16 ram and a GTX660, with 4 ram, my settings are low and the game runs. I do get stuttering at times, but it works, well enough to fly. In order to get the most though I need to upgrade and, although the GTX 1060 is midrange, it is still better than what I have, but in order to fully use it, I need the a new mobo and cpu.
  11. Is anyone doing a P-38? America's greatest ace flew that plane and it had a fearsome reputation.
  12. Thanks all for the tips. When these puppies start firing back, that will be a challenge.
  13. Thank you, looks really good and runs well.
  14. The Normandy map has shown up and is installing as I type, hopefully the asset pack will follow shortly. The asset pack started was available as soon as I started DCS after the Normandy map was installed, thank you. I agree using command line is asking a little much of your purchasers.
