  1. Su25a for me. Would fly a full fidelity version if there was one.
  2. This, from what I can see, is not fixed. Did you see my post explaining it on the previous page? The Aiming Pipper works ok in the area at the top on the HUD/ASP-17 Glass, but as you move the Aiming Piper down the ASP-17 Glass and try to use it, it becomes more erratic. I even attached a simple test mission, (parked on the ground) so people could quickly see what I mean. Please give it test to try to replicate what I am talking about, if you have a few minutes? Here is the link to my post on the previous page explaining the problem, with the test mission.
  3. I have done more testing on this and have discovered the following: (Important: all of this is tested on the ground, not flying!) (Also, this bug is when you are in ground stabilized mode ("Locked"), The Pipper works fine when not ground stabilized) The (ground stabilized) Pipper works ok, as long as you keep the Aiming Pipper near the very top of the ASP-17 Glass (Glass is in it highest position (default)) I have attached a screen shot to show what I am talking about. Once you start to move the (ground stabilized) Aiming Pipper lower down the glass, the more inaccurate your movement inputs are. E.G: you give a movement input and as soon as you release the input, the Aiming Pipper "jumps" an amount, either left or right of where you wanted it to stop. And this becomes worse the lower you move the Pipper. I am sure that this is not how it's supposed to function? It also explains why some users don't have a problem. Can a dev or bug reporter/ beta tester look at this again please? I have attached a test mission if any one wants to see what I am talking about/ give this a test. Su25a_Aiming_Pipper_Bug_Test.miz
  4. From what I can see this is still broken. When the laser is on and the aiming pipper is ground stabilized, the aiming pipper moves erratically when you try to slew it. I test this on while stationary on the ground: With the Laser turned on (and not ground stabilized), the aiming pipper moves with the controls as you would expect; up, down, left, right, no problems. However, with the Laser turned on and Ground Stabilization turned on, the aiming pipper now moves erratically when you try to slew it. When you press the key to slew in the direction you want, it moves ok, but when you release the key the aiming pipper "jumps" either left or right a small (or not so small) amount. From my testing it seems the longer you hold the direction input the less the aiming pipper jumps when you release the control. If you move it in short key inputs (tapping it) it is very erratic. In both cases it makes aiming the pipper very difficult. This hard to observe when you are flying due to the other adjustments that have been made to this system to increase it's realism (ie needing to keep the jet level while adjusting the aiming pipper and being Ground Stabilized). (https://forum.dcs.world/topic/111856-su25-laser-guide-problem/page/2/#comment-2533036) I think people are just putting up with this, not realizing that it is still broken, believing that their bank angle etc, while on an attack run, is making it behave erratically. Test it on the ground and it is pretty clear it is still broken and making employment of laser guided munitions on the SU25a way harder than it should be. I am running the latest stable version of DCS.
  5. My hope is that perhaps once ModernAirCombat is done, maybe they can use the SU25a resources from that to update this module.
  6. Been quietly waiting (& hoping) for this one for many years. Consider my brain melted that the time has finally come , it gives me the "warm fuzzies" just daydreaming about that fact it will be reality in it's own good time. Looking forward to this module...The ultimate Gunship! Thanks ED, happy Christmas and prosperous New Year!
  7. I had this just now, I contacted support and they kindly helped my (very quickly). I checked steam forums and Hoggit reddit page before submitting a ticket but saw nothing on there so went a head with a ticket. Probably would cut down on tech support contacts to put a post on Reddit.
  8. This has probably been asked before, but I couldn't find any post about it (Hard to know exactly what to search for). I think it would be really useful if Eagle Dynamics could implement a feature where-by you could choose a cockpit gauge (in my example, the UH1's EGT Gauge) and have it displayed, super imposed over your screen, in the same way the Control Indicator and Crew Status are over-layed. I know Helios is a kind of answer to this and I was indeed using this method, but I have had to stop because it is causing my too much FPS/performance loss. Also, I don't really need to see every gauge, just a couple of key ones (like the EGT or VVI, which are super important). Additionally, not everyone has multiple screens to be able to use Helios. I'm sure an ED implementation would also be much more resource efficient. Options like Gauge position, Scale and transparency settings would be nice too. What are the chances we could get a feature like this sometime? Would others find it useful? I have attached some Photoshopped images to explain more clearly what I mean.
  9. I haven't played DCS (UH1) in since August /September. I was very happy with how it was running then. But I came back to it recently and my performance has been terrible, (stuttering and fluctuating FPS, very choppy TrackIR panning). I deleted my SavedGames\DCS World folder and when it was recreated I got a lot of FPS back (about 20 - 30). Through some experimentation I discovered it was being caused by the Scripts folder (Helios). It seems I can no longer use Helios, but I don't understand why. What has changed? When I started using Helios last summer I didn't noticed any decrease in FPS. :(
  10. This is my go to ground attack plane, very fun. I much prefer the speed and agility over the precise but clunky Su25T variant. I hope the 25a can get some love in the future to improve the textures/model etc!
  11. Why bother taking part in the development of early access modules if it bothers you so much? Just wait for the final product. You gave ED your money with the understanding you were basically going to be a tester on a unfinished product, with missing features, that will possibly have a long & unpredictable development process. Not just this game/sim, but it amazes me how many people don't seem to understand what they are getting into when they choose to buy early access products. I can only imaging the chorus of heads banging on table noises that must come from the various developers around the world when they read their forums. I personally think early access is a great idea....if you understand what it entails.
  12. Here is one I found useful:
  13. Yeah, I have been playing more DCS again recently and I am really impressed with how good the Caucus map is looking these days (And Persian Gulf too). I simply just used to accept how terrain looked in Lockon, FC1 etc (that's just how it was for flight simmers), but now I am regularly doing double takes to stop and appreciated just how awesome the terrain/environment/models look. Especially in Helos and ground pounding. Combined arms is also very fun on the Gulf map. Again, the buildings and ambient objects (parked cars etc) really add to the immersion. In my opinion, the terrain we now have is as good as CS1.6 looked or Desert combat/Bf1942 (probably better in some areas, lighting etc) which for a flight sim is pretty amazing. On top of this I am also very impressed with my FPS performance, a real pleasure to fly these days! Thanks ED and partners! :pilotfly:
  14. Nice, just bought Persian Gulf map for 22 euros! Some very big discounts, thanks ED! Time to go exploring in the Huey :joystick: .
  15. Just played my first mission in 2.5 on the Caucasus with the trusty old su25a frog. Really great first impression. New map looks awesome too. Thanks!
  16. I have been flying the su25a recently and this is quite problematic. Not only does the cursor behave incorrectly when ground stabilized (as in the above video), it also seems to un-stabilize temporarily while you are trying to move the cursor.
  17. I've been having a look around for any coop/multi/single missions for the SU25a but I can't seem to find any. Any one know of any?
  18. Have been slowly getting back into DCS and went to do my first ramp start, buttons/trackir etc check. I noticed my view was really stuttering like my FPS were at about 20 or even less. I turned on the FPS counter and it showed 80fps! After a bit of faffing about I tried pressing Alt+enter, low and behold the game was smooth as silk. I'll have to try Vsync off, as you say sw0rdfi5h, sounds related.
  19. Hmm not sure if this is good. I am a sim racer and used the excellent Logi G25/27 for years... but they really dropped the ball with their latest G29, the supposed replacement for the G27. Most sim racers I know will not upgrade to that wheel from their existing Logi wheels. I think it's better to have more competitors/ range/ choice
  20. I think they should mention in the recent email that 2.0 and NTTR are still in testing and not properly released yet. I went on a confused goose chase there for a bit. :) I am waiting till this stuff is out of testing before I start using it.
  21. Thanks for this, looks like a very interesting channel.
  22. Quick related question. Should you "de authorize" modules before you uninstall them (like some games do), or do you not have to do that with DCS?
