  1. Hey guys. It's been a while since I've posted up here. Just got an Oculus last week and started playing around with it and I am absolutely in love with this thing. Still working on the graphics settings to get the best image I can.

So the reason why I'm posting is because I got to thinking about the whole "Oculus Touch" conundrum. I started googling for something like a touch glove like device and I found this

    https://developer.leapmotion.com/vr-setup/oculusrift/

Judging from the tech demo videos it seems like this thing could be the missing link for flight simmers. Can you imagine not having to mess with a keyboard ever again... amazing to think it could be a real thing.

Any thoughts on this or has anyone seen a working version of this?

  2. That's true, it's impossible to keep her level without pushing further forward with full forward trim above ~380-400km/h. Reported that bug like years ago, even with tracks and screenshots but it seems neither the devs nor the mods would even just acknowledge the fact that there is a bug at all. At least I can remember some moderators denying there's a bug with FFB+trim...

The only other FFB issue in the most recent versions is the well known double trim in case of both the MiG-21bis (acknowledged and assigned in LNS bugtracker) and the Viggen (guess they just took over the MiG FFB code and adapted it to the Viggen).

Yea, I'm a much happier pilot since I just dropped FF from my things to try and get working correctly. I am still using my G940 but when it finally goes I wont be getting another FF stick. Unless of course I get some sound proof they are working to resolve the inconsistency in the modules.

  3. I found this workaround on an inofficial "MS Vista" Forum. Works for me on Win7 64bit. No deleting or renaming of registry Files needed.

"...fixed it by disabling direct input from detecting that the stick is Force Feedback capable.

    Basically, with RegEdit,

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/MediaProperties/PrivateProperties/Joystick/OEM/VID_045E&PID_001B/OEMForceFeedback

I change the above keys permission to EVERYONE - {"Full Control","Read"} - DENY . Now when I run dxdiag, the stick is not detected as Force Feedback capable anymore [...] Before making the permission change, DXDIAG had a value for the Force Feedback Driver, now it's "n/a". "

Cool... I'm gonna try that right now and see if it works. Thanks for the insight.

  4. I'm so glad I decided to take a look in this thread. I had been posting in the F-5 thread that the trim was not working. So... turns out it's a much broader issue. I have the G940 alone. No extra peripherals. I have also tested FFB on and off.

I stopped using FFB with my G940 because no one can seem to get all the aircraft to work correctly with it so I just got tired of turning it on and off. But now obviously no trim sucks.

Well I'm glad to hear that the devs are aware of it and working on the fix. I had just cleared my controls to default before this trying to figure it out. Looks like at this point I'll be downgrading back so I can actually fly.

I'm totally willing to help test to get this issue fixed if needed. Just shoot me a PM if your looking for someone to test the FFB stuff.

I have tested the F-15, Su-33, Su-27, A-10C and the F-5. None of those have working trim. Good luck and hope to see a fix soon.

  5. I just posted this in this thread when I saw this bug thread. Just dropping this here to make sure it gets seen.

    =======================

So... I found this thread and it really sounded like it might have been my issue but after doing some testing I can confirm this is not the same issue.

    http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=171239

I tried mapping all my controls in the "F-5 Game controls" as well as the "F-5 Sim Controls" and went into options and turned game mode on first. It was already set to off and so was game flight mode. But just for kicks I tested it both ways. Trimmer never effects the aircraft at all. I tried turning off the synchronize HOTAS controls also but that didn't work either.

Just as I was about to give up on this I decided to test this with FFB turned back on. When FFB is on the stick moves like it should to adjust for trim. Well... at least the nose up and down work correctly. The left and right trim are reversed so when you apply right trim you roll left and the opposite is true.

HOTAS is Logitech G940 using Logitech Profiler software.

Please someone from BST respond with some kind of notification that your checking this out as this plane is simply not a pleasure to fly when I'm fighting to keep the nose up. :joystick:

  7. Sounds like the same problem I have, I have had this issue for ages. I get the buttons to assign but I have to push them a couple of thousand times for them to work, its almost like there is some sort of delay. In flight though, once assigned, they work fine.

I have this issue also regardless of aircraft. Pressing the button a few times will normally bind the action and there are no real issues once in the sim.

  8. Hey fellas. I'm a fellow G940 user and I have some insight and also a question for you.

First about the speed brakes thing. All the individual controls are added into the sim so if you built a real cockpit with the appropriate switches you could bind them like they are IRL.

It sounds like you have your buttons or hat set to use:

"Speed Brake Switch - Step Aft" and "Speed Brake Switch - Step Fwd".

I tested this too and it requires a double tap to activate the speed brake.

The controls you want to be using for single click are:

"Speed Brake Switch - IN" and "Speed Brake Switch - OUT"

That should clear up the issue with you speed brake.

    =======================

Now on to my issue. I myself do use the Logitech Profiler. I do not use FFB in DCS anymore because all the aircraft don't use it properly and I get tired of switching it off and on when I want to fly something like the Su-27 or the Huey.

So I use LP to adjust the dampening and spring tension only and I have the joystick hat axis stick set to use 4 keyboard keys for up down left and right. This axis hat is what I always assign as my trim switch. It works on every single aircraft in DCS right now except for the F-5.

I have tried holding up down left and right on the trimmer and can see the trimmer on the stick in the sim moving to the appropriate direction so I know its working but it has absolutely no effect on the aircraft.

I then went back into the configuration and assigned the trimmer functions to the castle hat below the axis hat just to see if it was because I was using keyboard keys but it still has no effect on the aircraft. I have asked around if there is some sort of system that has to be turned on in the aircraft for the trimmer to work and everyone is saying no. I have created a quick mission with the Tiger in the air so I would assume that all systems would be ready to go and it doesn't work there either.

But it seems that all the other people I ask have different HOTAS setups and they don't seem to be experiencing this problem at all.

So... is anyone else having this problem with the G940?

  9. Take control of a dog-ear radar, park inside the building, and tune your VHF radio to 252MHz, then see what happens...

So I figured out how to get the radar in the house. I placed a sborka and a strela on the map right on top of the house in mission editor and it pops up inside the house. Not sure how you would manually set the radio frequency so I did that in the perform action in the mission editor as well then just took control of the unit. Didn't do anything that I can tell. I was expecting like 40 A-10's to flyby and do a mass bombing on me but I got nothing. So your either yanking my chain or there's a bit more to this egg.

  10. Las Vegas, is a fast food capital, lots of unique franchise's and one off restaurants.

Did they model in a What-A-Burger in too?

    http://www.bojangles.com/locations

The corporate site does not have any listed for Nevada. I did see a moc-McDonalds but the logo is turned sideways. It's funny though because each Bojangles franchise has it's own variation on store designs and oddly enough that looks like one of ours. We are based in eastern NC and around the Richmond VA area.

  11. OMG... so I couldn't seem to figure out how to get inside the building yet with the radar. While looking all over the map for a building with a hanger of some sort with the dish... I stumbled upon this. Bo... freaking... jangles. Dude... I actually work for the eastern North Carolina franchise Tands Bojangles... lol. I nearly soiled myself when I saw it. Were really famous now... lol. So who at ED loves a Cajun fillet biscuit?
