Hi, I have terrible, limited rural internet where I live and so in the past I used to update and install the game by downloading it on my laptop in town, and then transfering the whole DCS directory to my PC at home. This was never a problem in the past but with the latest update and installation, the game wont even launch. Any suggestions on what to do? Windows does not seem aware of the installation (there is no DCS launcher / icon in the windows Start menu. ) Trout

My updater wont work and niether will repair. How do I force a DCS update. Did it once but dont remember Troutish

Tried that, no luck. There is some way using dos commands to force an update but I dont remember how.....

My DCS updater stopped in the middle of an update, and now it wont work at all. Is there an other way to force an update? Thanks Troutish

I ran cleanup and repair on both computers with the game installed. It says my versions are up to date and STILL no updated F18. I looked everywhere and still no NVG, nor do I have the waypoint option in the ME to set the ILCS (again, looked everywhere) help! Trout

I actually dont even HAVE the repair tool! searched for it everywhere. Here maybe the problem: I have limited internet so I download and update all my games on my laptop at a coffee shop in town. I then use a wormhole connect cable to copy files onto my desktop. But I only copied the eagle dynamics folder, which means any other DCS related files elsewhere on my PC were not moved over. Does anyone know if all the updated F18 files are contained in the one F18 folder? Trout

Hi, I just updated DCS but my f 18 module did not update. (I have no nvgs nor do I have the option to set ILCS in the ME). any suggestions? Trout

my IR missles lock, but im not getting the lights to turn on. Is this a known bug?

By the way, does anyone know why DCS does NOT have a mission save feature? I'm trying to think of other sims that lacked one, but I'm drawing a blank. It seems VERY unusual. I also want to point out that this "all or nothing" attitude about creating a dynamic campaign is not helpful. Of course you could spend years trying to do a DC that was perfect, but who in their right mind would advise that? There are MANY ways to approach this that would result in a great DC - they dont necessitate years of expensive programming either. Trout

This is what I did and now I have the mig.exe file. when I click on it though, it asks where I want to install it so I need to know exacly where to point it to. ------------ Or download and install the "DCS: MiG-21bis" module using either the file here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.co...ules/mig21bis/ It will should find and install in to "DCS World"

No idea where to install the exe though....... and its telling me that I must have dcs world 1.2.10.32275 installed and the auto updater aint doin it! help!

Hi, When the the game launches I dont get an option to update. I saw it last week and (stupidly) said no to the update. Now I want to update and guess what, the game just launches, tells me about the new version, but there is no pop up window giving me the option to select update. Is there some way to run launch the updater manually? Thanks

I'm pretty disappointed that I bought this sim without active door gunners. I'd like to make missions for slicks but there is no point without the ability to suppress enemy around the Liz. I'm contenting myself so far with just doing milk runs....

Is there someway to add/ remove cargo in the payload? I cant seem to make my chopper weighted down.

I'm not able to use the FM radio to home in on ground troops. Can sombody help me with this? I created a ground unit, set its radio to FM 40, set the FM radio to 40 in the cockpit and on "home". what am i doing wrong?

With a dynamic campaign the programmers (developers) give the units at all levels a higher sort of AI so that platoons, companies, battalions and so on all the way up to the high command can make tactical and strategic descisions, that in the end, appear sensible to the player. This creates the fiction that there is a real war going on out there that is not scripted or pre-ordained in any way. Humans set some opening parameters, and then the campaign AI takes over. Will this generate fun an memorable moments of gameplay like we experince from the best human made missions? Absolutely -my most memorable and exciting experineces in any sim were in Falcon more than a decade ago! This is not to detract from the great missions and campaigns that have been made for DCS. There simply are not enough of them however, and they are not really replayable.

nah, just dont do it on a really crowded server where you are taking the last availiable a10 (hardly ever a problemn though)

would love some feedback - this was a more complicated mission for me to produce and I think the targeting directions were a bit vague

One way to approach learning the A10 is to not try and learn everything at once. If you enjoy non-combat flying then just spend some time learning the navigation systems and flying from base to base in different weather conditions. Then you can gradually add in weapon systems, and finally how to respond to different damage situations. Even if yoiu just want to fly around you should consider going online, joining a mission and flying there (away from the front line!). its cool to have other people online with you and the possibility that you MAY get shot down makes it a bit more exciting. dont even try to go after the targets online until you are very comfortable with the A10- you will just get discouraged by the sams.

this is more serious than it appears. Some online missions put the Su25 in the Sead role, with all the other planes relying on it. I saw a bunch of A10s get wiped out the other day (kinda cool!) because none of us could get the job done in the SU25s with the broken ARMs.
