  1. http://www.cnn.com/videos/cnn10/2017/10/30/ten-1101.cnn Nov 1st episode has a great story on the air war on ISIS and its costs.
  2. Scanning with the TGP in the general area is your best bet, unless you see a missile launch. If you see the launch its pretty easy to determine a location. Many of the default campaign missions have dedicated dead/sead flights to help you out. Sometimes its not even necessary to eliminate the threat if you just keep good SA stay out of the engagement envelopes
  3. Any one of the century series fighters would be awesome.
  4. Yeah that weapons system can catch you off guard if you arent familiar with the Ka-50. The first few times I flew it I couldnt figure out why the HUD wasnt coming on...Weapons system to the rescue.

    What Map?

The Marines operate their F-18s from land bases around the US as well, so they are perfectly capable of land operations.
  6. When I am teaching I tell students practice wont make you perfect, but it will sure make you better.
  7. This is awesome guys, will add a definite dimension to the immersion of a wwii mission, spits intercepting buzz bombs is definitely one of those battle of brittain war stories that I love to read about.
  8. The alligator sounds awesome, haven't flown one since the old Enemy Engaged: Comanche v Hokum B
  9. What campaign? Do you have a track? I could likely take a look at this later tonight or tomorrow.
  10. I can vouch for the selecting the next ATC option. Happened to me in the first deployment mission. Was able to select the second ATC option then the inbound messages were populated properly.
  11. Looks awesome but the 5pm PST makes it tough for me too. Sunday nights are usually spent with the wife.
  12. Any fighter squadrons in the US recruiting who fly any or all of the following aircraft: A-10C, F-86, Mig-15, F-15, or Blackshark? I have plenty of VFW experience with BMS so I am familar with brevity, radio comms etc, but have decided to move on to DCS for my primary multiplayer platform. Thanks for any suggestions
  13. Sounds great thanks! Do you do mostly do air-air or air-ground, both? Also mostly PvP or PvE?
  14. Any virtual fighter wings or just regular groups of pilots flying the sabre online? Looking for someone to fly with to get a bit more adept at flying and fighting with this awesome cold war jet!
  15. Anyone have a Black Shark mission data card? I know there is one for the A-10 but I am looking for one specific to the black shark.
  16. I fly BMS with a VFW and LOVE dcs single player and want to get some low level info on how to get flying on DCS. I mainly fly the A-10C with a few F-15 and F-86 hours under my belt. I dont even know if I need a radio mod etc. Anyone have some pointers? (I'm also not looking to join a VFW because of my involvement in BMS)
  17. I have been working on the Georgian Hammer campaigns where I am supporting the advance of ground troops. I have destroyed ALL enemy resistance within miles of the objective and after loitering for a while I still didnt get a victory notification and it didnt seem like the ground troops were moving. I exited to find out I didnt complete the mission. Any suggestions on what im doing wrong?
  18. I understand this completely, I am simply looking to see what as a community people are generally spending on their hardware, without regard to economic situation. Thanks for the feedback though!
  19. I have designed a hardware survey as a way to do some initial market research into what makes flight sim enthusiasts tick as far as their hardware is concerned. It is a quick 6 question survey and any feedback is greatly appreciated! https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/3FNSMV3
  20. noticed this too, probably because buildings were never meant previously to be landed on in the DCS world?
  21. this may be a dumb comment but make sure you werent using the flexi sight first then switched to the pilot seat, the guns go back to center following this switch for me at least so I have to turn off/back on the flexible mode so the sight is accurate
  22. impressive landing, if only the disc was turning on the ground.
  23. No, IIRC because of the advantages of the multiple rotor blades and coaxial design in the shark the VRS in Huey would be more pronounced
